| prabh dhaeiaal dhoosar koee naahee || |
| There is no other like the Merciful Lord God. |

| ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥ |
| ghatt ghatt anthar sarab samaahee || |
| He is contained deep within each and every heart. |
|
| ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥ |
| apanae dhaas kaa halath palath savaarai || |
| He embellishes His slave, here and hereafter. |
|
| ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ॥੨॥ |
| pathith paavan prabh biradh thumhaarai ||2|| |
| It is Your nature, God, to purify sinners. ||2|| |

| ਅਉਖਧ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥ |
| aoukhadhh kott simar gobindh || |
| Meditation on the Lord of the Universe is the medicine to cure millions of illnesses. |
|
| ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਭਜੀਐ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ |
| thanth manth bhajeeai bhagavanth || |
| My Tantra and Mantra is to meditate, to vibrate upon the Lord God. |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਮਿਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ |
| rog sog mittae prabh dhhiaaeae || |
| Illnesses and pains are dispelled, meditating on God. |
|
| ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ |
| man baanshhath pooran fal paaeae ||3|| |
| The fruits of the mind's desires are fulfilled. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਦਇਆਰ ॥ |
| karan kaaran samarathh dhaeiaar || |
| He is the Cause of causes, the All-powerful Merciful Lord. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan mehaa beechaar || |
| Contemplating Him is the greatest of all treasures. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
| naanak bakhas leeeae prabh aap || |
| God Himself has forgiven Nanak; |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਏਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੫॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa eaeko har jaap ||4||13||15|| |
| forever and ever, he chants the Name of the One Lord. ||4||13||15|| |

| Your consciousness shall become immaculate and pure. |
|
| ਮਨ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਮਿਟੈ ਬਲਾਇ ॥ |
| man than kee sabh mittai balaae || |
| All the misfortunes of your mind and body shall be taken away, |
|
| ਦੂਖੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਸਗਲਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| dhookh andhhaeraa sagalaa jaae ||1|| |
| and all your pain and darkness will be dispelled. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਤਰੀਐ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| har gun gaavath thareeai sansaar || |
| Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, cross over the world-ocean. |
|
| ਵਡ ਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| vadd bhaagee paaeeai purakh apaar ||1|| rehaao || |
| By great good fortune, one attains the Infinite Lord, the Primal Being. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥ |
| jo jan karai keerathan gopaal || this ko pohi n sakai jamakaal || |
| The Messenger of Death cannot even touch that humble being, who sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. |

| ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥੨॥ |
| jag mehi aaeiaa so paravaan || guramukh apanaa khasam pashhaan ||2|| |
| The Gurmukh realizes his Lord and Master; his coming into this world is approved. ||2|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ |
| har gun gaavai santh prasaadh || |
| He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, by the Grace of the Saints; |
|
| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਉਨਮਾਦ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh mittehi ounamaadh || |
| his sexual desire, anger and madness are eradicated. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਜਾਣੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ |
| sadhaa hajoor jaan bhagavanth || |
| He knows the Lord God to be ever-present. |
|
| ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਮੰਤ ॥੩॥ |
| poorae gur kaa pooran manth ||3|| |
| This is the Perfect Teaching of the Perfect Guru. ||3|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ |
| har dhhan khaatt keeeae bhanddaar || |
| He earns the treasure of the Lord's wealth. |
|
| ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰ ॥ |
| mil sathigur sabh kaaj savaar || |
| Meeting with the True Guru, all his affairs are resolved. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥ |
| har kae naam rang sang jaagaa || |
| He is awake and aware in the Love of the Lord's Name; |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੧੬॥ |
| har charanee naanak man laagaa ||4||14||16|| |
| O Nanak, his mind is attached to the Lord's Feet. ||4||14||16|| |

| The Lord's Feet are the boat to cross over the terrifying world-ocean. |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣ ॥ |
| simarath naam naahee fir maran || |
| Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he does not die again. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਪੰਥ ॥ |
| har gun ramath naahee jam panthh || |
| Chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, he does not have to walk on the Path of Death. |
|
| ਮਹਾ ਬੀਚਾਰ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤਹ ਮੰਥ ॥੧॥ |
| mehaa beechaar panch dhootheh manthh ||1|| |
| Contemplating the Supreme Lord, the five demons are conquered. ||1|| |

| ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਥ ॥ |

| I have entered Your Sanctuary, O Perfect Lord and Master. |
|
| ਜੰਤ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| expound upon the Supreme Lord God. |

| ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤੀ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ॥ |
| jogee jathee baisano raamadhaas || |
| The Yogis, celibates, Vaishnavs and followers of Ram Das |
|
| ਮਿਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥੨॥ |
| mith naahee breham abinaas ||2|| |
| cannot find the limits of the Eternal Lord God. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਿਵ ਦੇਵ ॥ |
| karan palaah karehi siv dhaev || |
| Shiva and the gods lament and moan, |
|
| ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥ |
| thil nehee boojhehi alakh abhaev || |
| but they do not understand even a tiny bit of the unseen and unknown Lord. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ॥ |
| praem bhagath jis aapae dhaee || |
| One whom the Lord Himself blesses with loving devotional worship, |
|
| ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਕੇਇ ॥੩॥ |
| jag mehi viralae kaeee kaee ||3|| |
| is very rare in this world. ||3|| |
|
| ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਿਛਹੂ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| mohi niragun gun kishhehoo naahi || |
| I am worthless, with absolutely no virtue at all; |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan thaeree dhrisattee maahi || |
| all treasures are in Your Glance of Grace. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵ ॥ |
| naanak dheen jaachai thaeree saev || |
| Nanak, the meek, desires only to serve You. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਜੈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੧੭॥ |
| kar kirapaa dheejai guradhaev ||4||15||17|| |
| Please be merciful, and grant him this blessing, O Divine Guru. ||4||15||17|| |
