Thus, the celestial harp plays the incomparable melody; |

thaagaa kar kai laaee thhigalee || |
The body is a patch-work of threads. |
|
ਲਉ ਨਾੜੀ ਸੂਆ ਹੈ ਅਸਤੀ ॥ |
lo naarree sooaa hai asathee || |
The muscles are stitched together with the needles of the bones. |
|
ਅੰਭੈ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਡੰਡਾ ਧਰਿਆ ॥ |
anbhai kaa kar ddanddaa dhhariaa || |
The Lord has erected a pillar of water. |
|
ਕਿਆ ਤੂ ਜੋਗੀ ਗਰਬਹਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
kiaa thoo jogee garabehi pariaa ||1|| |
O Yogi, why are you so proud? ||1|| |

ਜਪਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਾਈ ॥ |
jap naathh dhin rainaaee || |
Meditate on your Lord Master, day and night. |

ਤੇਰੀ ਖਿੰਥਾ ਦੋ ਦਿਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
thaeree khinthhaa dho dhihaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
The patched coat of the body shall last for only a few days. ||1||Pause|| |

ਗਹਰੀ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਲਾਇ ਬੈਠਾ ਤਾੜੀ ॥ |
geharee bibhooth laae baithaa thaarree || |
Smearing ashes on your body, you sit in a deep meditative trance. |

ਮੇਰੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |
maeree thaeree mundhraa dhhaaree || |
You wear the ear-rings of 'mine and yours'. |
|
ਮਾਗਹਿ ਟੂਕਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
maagehi ttookaa thripath n paavai || |
You beg for bread, but you are not satisfied. |
|
ਨਾਥੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥ |
naathh shhodd jaachehi laaj n aavai ||2|| |
Abandoning your Lord Master, you beg from others; you should feel ashamed. ||2|| |

ਚਲ ਚਿਤ ਜੋਗੀ ਆਸਣੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ |
chal chith jogee aasan thaeraa || |
Your consciousness is restless, Yogi, as you sit in your Yogic postures. |
|
ਸਿੰਙੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਨਿਤ ਉਦਾਸੇਰਾ ॥ |
sinn(g)ee vaajai nith oudhaasaeraa || |
You blow your horn, but still feel sad. |
|
ਗੁਰ ਗੋਰਖ ਕੀ ਤੈ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
gur gorakh kee thai boojh n paaee || |
You do not understand Gorakh, your guru. |
|
ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
fir fir jogee aavai jaaee ||3|| |
Again and again, Yogi, you come and go. ||3|| |
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਆ ਨਾਥੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ॥ |
jis no hoaa naathh kirapaalaa || |
He, unto whom the Master shows Mercy |
|
ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥ |
reharaas hamaaree gur gopaalaa || |
unto Him, the Guru, the Lord of the World, I offer my prayer. |
|
ਨਾਮੈ ਖਿੰਥਾ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਸਤਰੁ ॥ |
naamai khinthhaa naamai basathar || |
One who has the Name as his patched coat, and the Name as his robe, |
|
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੋਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ॥੪॥ |
jan naanak jogee hoaa asathhir ||4|| |
O servant Nanak, such a Yogi is steady and stable. ||4|| |
|
ਇਉ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਥੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਾਈ ॥ |
eio japiaa naathh dhin rainaaee || |
One who meditates on the Master in this way, night and day, |
|
ਹੁਣਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥ |
hun paaeiaa gur gosaaee ||1|| rehaao dhoojaa ||2||13|| |
finds the Guru, the Lord of the World, in this life. ||1||Second Pause||2||13|| |

I do not see any other at all. |

ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਨਾ ॥ |
thaakur maeraa sugharr sujaanaa || |
My Lord and Master is wise and all-knowing. |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
guramukh miliaa rang maanaa ||1|| |
Meeting with the Gurmukh, I enjoy His Love. ||1|| |
|
ਐਸੋ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ॥ |
aiso rae har ras meethaa || |
Such is the sweet, subtle essence of the Lord. |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
guramukh kinai viralai ddeethaa ||1|| rehaao || |
How rare are those who, as Gurmukh, taste it. ||1||Pause|| |

ਪੀਵਤ ਅਮਰ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਕਾਮ ॥ |
peevath amar bheae nihakaam || |
Drinking it in, one becomes immortal and free of desire. |
|
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ |
than man seethal agan nivaaree || |
The body and mind are cooled and soothed, and the fire is extinguished. |
|
ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
anadh roop pragattae sansaaree ||2|| |
Such a being is the embodiment of bliss, famous throughout the world. ||2|| |
|
ਕਿਆ ਦੇਵਉ ਜਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ |
kiaa dhaevo jaa sabh kishh thaeraa || |
What can I offer You, Lord? Everything belongs to You. |
|
ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਲਖ ਬੇਰਾ ॥ |
sadh balihaar jaao lakh baeraa || |
I am forever a sacrifice to You, hundreds of thousands of times. |
|
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੇ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥ |
than man jeeo pindd dhae saajiaa || |
You blessed me, and fashioned my body, mind and soul. |
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨੀਚੁ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
gur kirapaa thae neech nivaajiaa ||3|| |
By Guru's Grace, this lowly being was exalted. ||3|| |

ਖੋਲਿ ਕਿਵਾਰਾ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
khol kivaaraa mehal bulaaeiaa || |
Opening the door, You summoned me to the Mansion of Your Presence. |
|
ਜੈਸਾ ਸਾ ਤੈਸਾ ਦਿਖਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
jaisaa saa thaisaa dhikhalaaeiaa || |
As You are, so You have revealed Yourself to me. |
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਪੜਦਾ ਤੂਟਾ ॥ |
kahu naanak sabh parradhaa thoottaa || |
Says Nanak, the screen is totally torn away; |

ਹਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੪॥ |
ho thaeraa thoo mai man voothaa ||4||3||14|| |
I am Yours, and You are enshrined within my mind. ||4||3||14|| |

He has linked His servant to His service. |

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵ ॥ |
anmrith naam dheeou mukh dhaev || |
The Divine Guru has poured the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, into his mouth. |

ਸਗਲੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ |
sagalee chinthaa aap nivaaree || |
He has subdued all his anxiety. |
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
this gur ko ho sadh balihaaree ||1|| |
I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru. ||1|| |

ਕਾਜ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਗੁਰ ॥ |
kaaj hamaarae poorae sathagur || |
The True Guru has perfectly resolved my affairs. |

ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ਸਤਗੁਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
baajae anehadh thoorae sathagur ||1|| rehaao || |
The True Guru vibrates the unstruck melody of the sound current. ||1||Pause|| |

ਮਹਿਮਾ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ॥ |
mehimaa jaa kee gehir ganbheer || |
His Glory is profound and unfathomable. |
|
ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਦੇਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੀਰ ॥ |
hoe nihaal dhaee jis dhheer || |
One whom He blesses with patience becomes blissful. |
