| Pain and darkness are gone from my mind; |

| ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਰਾਚੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੨॥ |

| my evil-mindedness is dispelled, and I am absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||2|| |

| I have enshrined love for the Lord's lotus feet. |

| ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |

| The lifestyle of the Perfect Guru is immaculate and pure. |

| ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ॥ |

| My fear has run away, and the fearless Lord dwells within my mind. |

| The nooses of millions of incarnations are cut away. |

| ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਲਾਹੇ ॥ |

| I have obtained the profit of the true wealth. |
|
| ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ |

| This treasure is inexhaustible; it will never run out. |

| Consuming and expending it, it is never used up. The Lord has no end or limitation. ||1||Pause|| |

| In the Word of the Guru's Bani is the wealth of the unstruck sound current. |

| They sit there, in the cave of deep Samaadhi; |

| ਕੇਵਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਹ ਬਾਸਨੁ ॥ |

| the unique, perfect Lord God dwells there. |

| ਭਗਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਕਰਤ ॥ |

| God holds conversations with His devotees. |

| ਤਹ ਹਰਖ ਨ ਸੋਗ ਨ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਤ ॥੩॥ |

| There is no pleasure or pain, no birth or death there. ||3|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥ |

| One whom the Lord Himself blesses with His Mercy, |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| saadhhasang thin har dhhan paaeiaa || |
| obtains the Lord's wealth in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |

| Nanak prays to the merciful Primal Lord; |

| Incarnated beings do not know His limit. |

| The gods gave grown weary of searching for Him. |

| ਦੇਵੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਮਰਮ ॥ |

| The goddesses do not know His mystery. |

| ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮੇ ਇਕਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਏ ॥ |

| Some wander around, while others are linked to His devotional worship. |
|
| ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਜਣਾਏ ॥੩॥ |

| By His actions, He makes Himself known. ||3|| |

| ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ |
| santhan kee sun saachee saakhee || |
| Listen to the true story of the Saints. |
|
| ਸੋ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਜੋ ਪੇਖਹਿ ਆਖੀ ॥ |
| so bolehi jo paekhehi aakhee || |
| They speak only of what they see with their eyes. |
|
| ਨਹੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਪਿ ॥ |

| He is not involved with virtue or vice. |
|
