| I have no knowledge, intelligence or spiritual wisdom. |

| ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਸੀਲ ਨਹੀ ਧਰਮ ॥ |
| jaap thaap seel nehee dhharam || |
| I have not practiced chanting, deep meditation, humility or righteousness. |
|
| ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ਕੈਸਾ ਕਰਮ ॥੧॥ |
| kishhoo n jaano kaisaa karam ||1|| |
| I know nothing of such good karma. ||1|| |

| ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥ |

| O my Beloved God, my Lord and Master, |

| ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭੂਲਹ ਚੂਕਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| thujh bin dhoojaa avar n koee bhooleh chookeh prabh thaerae ||1|| rehaao || |
| there is none other than You. Even though I wander and make mistakes, I am still Yours, God. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਰਿਧਿ ਨ ਬੁਧਿ ਨ ਸਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥ |
| ridhh n budhh n sidhh pragaas || |
| I have no wealth, no intelligence, no miraculous spiritual powers; I am not enlightened. |

| ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਕੇ ਗਾਵ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਸੁ ॥ |
| bikhai biaadhh kae gaav mehi baas || |
| I dwell in the village of corruption and sickness. |

| ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ॥ |
| karanehaar maerae prabh eaek || |
| O my One Creator Lord God, |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੨॥ |
| naam thaerae kee man mehi ttaek ||2|| |
| Your Name is the support of my mind. ||2|| |

| ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਮਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥ |
| sun sun jeevo man eihu bisraam || |
| Hearing, hearing Your Name, I live; this is my mind's consolation. |

| ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ |
| paap khanddan prabh thaero naam || |
| Your Name, God, is the Destroyer of sins. |
|
| ਤੂ ਅਗਨਤੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ |

| You, O Limitless Lord, are the Giver of the soul. |

| ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਣਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੩॥ |

| He alone knows You, unto whom You reveal Yourself. ||3|| |

| ਜੋ ਉਪਾਇਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਸ ॥ |

| Whoever has been created, rests his hopes in You. |

| All worship and adore You, God, O treasure of excellence. |

| Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to You. |

| All beings worship and adore Him. |

| My God is the Giver of souls. |

| My mind has grasped His Support. |

| ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਛੋਟ ॥ |

| My bonds have been shattered. |

| ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਪਿ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥ |

| Within my heart, I meditate on the Lord, the embodiment of supreme bliss. |

| ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥੨॥ |

| My mind is filled with ecstasy. ||2|| |
|
| ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣ ॥ |

| The Lord's Sanctuary is the boat to carry us across. |

| santhan kae praan adhhaar || |
| They are the Support of the breath of life of the Saints. |

| ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੩॥ |
| oochae thae ooch apaar ||3|| |
| God is infinite, the highest of the high. ||3|| |

| ਸੁ ਮਤਿ ਸਾਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਜੈ ॥ |

| That mind is excellent and sublime, which meditates in remembrance on the Lord. |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa jis aapae dheejai || |
| In His Mercy, the Lord Himself bestows it. |
|
| ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ |
| sookh sehaj aanandh har naao || |
| Peace, intuitive poise and bliss are found in the Lord's Name. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੮॥ |

| kar saevaa saevak saaj || |
| Become His servant, and serve Him. |
|
| ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥ |
| apanaa aap sagal mittaae || |
| Totally erase your self-conceit. |
|
| ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| man chindhae saeee fal paae ||1|| |
| You shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||1|| |
|
| ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥ |
| hohu saavadhhaan apunae gur sio || |
| Be awake and aware with your Guru. |
|
| ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| aasaa manasaa pooran hovai paavehi sagal nidhhaan gur sio ||1|| rehaao || |
| Your hopes and desires shall be fulfilled, and you shall obtain all treasures from the Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| dhoojaa nehee jaanai koe || |
| Let no one think that God and Guru are separate. |
|
| ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| sathagur niranjan soe || |
| The True Guru is the Immaculate Lord. |
|
| ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥ |
| maanukh kaa kar roop n jaan || |
| Do not believe that He is a mere human being; |
|
| ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ |
| milee nimaanae maan ||2|| |
| He gives honor to the dishonored. ||2|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਇ ॥ |

| Hold tight to the Support of the Guru, the Lord. |

| ਅਵਰ ਆਸਾ ਸਭ ਲਾਹਿ ॥ |
| avar aasaa sabh laahi || |
| Give up all other hopes. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥ |
| har kaa naam maag nidhhaan || |
| Ask for the treasure of the Name of the Lord, |
