| There is no other king, except Him. |

| ੜਾੜੈ ਗਾਰੁੜੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| rraarrai gaarurr thum sunahu har vasai man maahi || |
| Rharha: Listen to the spell, and the Lord will come to dwell in your mind. |

| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਤੁ ਕੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਹਿ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee har paaeeai math ko bharam bhulaahi || |
| By Guru's Grace, one finds the Lord; do not be deluded by doubt. |

| ਸੋ ਸਾਹੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ |
| so saahu saachaa jis har dhhan raas || |
| He alone is the true banker, who has the capital of the wealth of the Lord. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥ |
| guramukh pooraa this saabaas || |
| The Gurmukh is perfect - applaud him! |
 |
| ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੪੭॥ |
| aap gaeiaa dhukh kattiaa har var paaeiaa naar ||47|| |
| Self-conceit is eliminated, and pain is eradicated; the soul bride obtains her Husband Lord. ||47|| |

| ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਸੰਚੀਐ ਧਨੁ ਕਾਚਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਛਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sueinaa rupaa sancheeai dhhan kaachaa bikh shhaar || |
| He hoards gold and silver, but this wealth is false and poisonous, nothing more than ashes. |

| ਸਾਹੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਸੰਚਿ ਧਨੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥ |
| saahu sadhaaeae sanch dhhan dhubidhhaa hoe khuaar || |
| He calls himself a banker, gathering wealth, but he is ruined by his dual-mindedness. |

| ਸਚਿਆਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਸਾਚਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲੁ ॥ |
| sachiaaree sach sanchiaa saacho naam amol || |
| The truthful ones gather Truth; the True Name is priceless. |

| ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਾਇਲੁ ਊਜਲੋ ਪਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਚੁ ਬੋਲੁ ॥ |
| har niramaaeil oojalo path saachee sach bol || |
| The Lord is immaculate and pure; through Him, their honor is true, and their speech is true. |

| ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਤੂ ਹੰਸੁ ॥ |
| saajan meeth sujaan thoo thoo saravar thoo hans || |
| You are my friend and companion, all-knowing Lord; You are the lake, and You are the swan. |

| ਸਾਚਉ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ |
| saacho thaakur man vasai ho balihaaree this || |
| I am a sacrifice to that being, whose mind is filled with the True Lord and Master. |

| ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ |
| maaeiaa mamathaa mohanee jin keethee so jaan || |
| Know the One who created love and attachment to Maya, the Enticer. |
 |
| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ॥੪੮॥ |
| bikhiaa anmrith eaek hai boojhai purakh sujaan ||48|| |
| One who realizes the all-knowing Primal Lord, looks alike upon poison and nectar. ||48|| |
 |
| ਖਿਮਾ ਵਿਹੂਣੇ ਖਪਿ ਗਏ ਖੂਹਣਿ ਲਖ ਅਸੰਖ ॥ |
| khimaa vihoonae khap geae khoohan lakh asankh || |
| Without patience and forgiveness, countless hundreds of thousands have perished. |
 |
| ਗਣਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਿਉ ਗਣੀ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਸੰਖ ॥ |
| ganath n aavai kio ganee khap khap mueae bisankh || |
| Their numbers cannot be counted; how could I count them? Bothered and bewildered, uncounted numbers have died. |

| ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਖੂਲੈ ਬੰਧੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| khasam pashhaanai aapanaa khoolai bandhh n paae || |
| One who realizes his Lord and Master is set free, and not bound by chains. |
 |
| ਸਬਦਿ ਮਹਲੀ ਖਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਿਮਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਖ ਭਾਇ ॥ |
| sabadh mehalee kharaa thoo khimaa sach sukh bhaae || |
| Through the Word of the Shabad, enter the Mansion of the Lord's Presence; you shall be blessed with patience, forgiveness, truth and peace. |

| ਖਰਚੁ ਖਰਾ ਧਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਵਸਹਿ ਸਰੀਰਿ ॥ |
| kharach kharaa dhhan dhhiaan thoo aapae vasehi sareer || |
| Partake of the true wealth of meditation, and the Lord Himself shall abide within your body. |

| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਧੀਰ ॥ |
| man than mukh jaapai sadhaa gun anthar man dhheer || |
| With mind, body and mouth, chant His Glorious Virtues forever; courage and composure shall enter deep within your mind. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਖਪੈ ਖਪਾਇਸੀ ਬੀਜਉ ਵਥੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| houmai khapai khapaaeisee beejo vathh vikaar || |
| Through egotism, one is distracted and ruined; other than the Lord, all things are corrupt. |

| ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਲਗੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੪੯॥ |
| janth oupaae vich paaeian karathaa alag apaar ||49|| |
| Forming His creatures, He placed Himself within them; the Creator is unattached and infinite. ||49|| |

| ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੇ ਭੇਉ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| srisattae bhaeo n jaanai koe || |
| No one knows the mystery of the Creator of the World. |
 |
| ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਾ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| srisattaa karai s nihacho hoe || |
| Whatever the Creator of the World does, is certain to occur. |
 |
| ਸੰਪੈ ਕਉ ਈਸਰੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ |
| sanpai ko eesar dhhiaaeeai || |
| For wealth, some meditate on the Lord. |
 |
| ਸੰਪੈ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਕੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| sanpai purab likhae kee paaeeai || |
| By pre-ordained destiny, wealth is obtained. |
 |
| ਸੰਪੈ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਚਾਕਰ ਚੋਰ ॥ |
| sanpai kaaran chaakar chor || |
| For the sake of wealth, some become servants or thieves. |
 |
| ਸੰਪੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਹੋਰ ॥ |
| sanpai saathh n chaalai hor || |
| Wealth does not go along with them when they die; it passes into the hands of others. |
 |
| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਹੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| bin saachae nehee dharageh maan || |
| Without Truth, honor is not obtained in the Court of the Lord. |
 |
| ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਛੁਟੈ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੫੦॥ |
| har ras peevai shhuttai nidhaan ||50|| |
| Drinking in the subtle essence of the Lord, one is emancipated in the end. ||50|| |

| ਹੇਰਤ ਹੇਰਤ ਹੇ ਸਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਰਾਨੁ ॥ |
| haerath haerath hae sakhee hoe rehee hairaan || |
| Seeing and perceiving, O my companions, I am wonder-struck and amazed. |

| ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤੀ ਮੈ ਮੁਈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ |
| ho ho karathee mai muee sabadh ravai man giaan || |
| My egotism, which proclaimed itself in possessiveness and self-conceit, is dead. My mind chants the Word of the Shabad, and attains spiritual wisdom. |

| ਹਾਰ ਡੋਰ ਕੰਕਨ ਘਣੇ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੀ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥ |
| haar ddor kankan ghanae kar thhaakee seegaar || |
| I am so tired of wearing all these necklaces, hair-ties and bracelets, and decorating myself. |

| ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣਾ ਗਲਿ ਹਾਰੁ ॥ |
| mil preetham sukh paaeiaa sagal gunaa gal haar || |
| Meeting with my Beloved, I have found peace; now, I wear the necklace of total virtue. |
 |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ |
| naanak guramukh paaeeai har sio preeth piaar || |
| O Nanak, the Gurmukh attains the Lord, with love and affection. |
 |
| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| har bin kin sukh paaeiaa dhaekhahu man beechaar || |
| Without the Lord, who has found peace? Reflect upon this in your mind, and see. |
 |
| ਹਰਿ ਪੜਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਬੁਝਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਖਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ |
| har parranaa har bujhanaa har sio rakhahu piaar || |
| Read about the Lord, understand the Lord, and enshrine love for the Lord. |
 |
| ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੫੧॥ |
| har japeeai har dhhiaaeeai har kaa naam adhhaar ||51|| |
| Chant the Lord's Name, and meditate on the Lord; hold tight to the Support of the Name of the Lord. ||51|| |
 |
| ਲੇਖੁ ਨ ਮਿਟਈ ਹੇ ਸਖੀ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥ |
| laekh n mittee hae sakhee jo likhiaa karathaar || |
| The inscription inscribed by the Creator Lord cannot be erased, O my companions. |
 |
| ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਗੁ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ |
| aapae kaaran jin keeaa kar kirapaa pag dhhaar || |
| He who created the universe, in His Mercy, installs His Feet within us. |
 |
| ਕਰਤੇ ਹਥਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਬੂਝਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| karathae hathh vaddiaaeeaa boojhahu gur beechaar || |
| Glorious greatness rests in the Hands of the Creator; reflect upon the Guru, and understand this. |
 |
| ਲਿਖਿਆ ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਐ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੀ ਤਿਉ ਸਾਰਿ ॥ |
| likhiaa faer n sakeeai jio bhaavee thio saar || |
| This inscription cannot be challenged. As it pleases You, You care for me. |
 |
| ਨਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| nadhar thaeree sukh paaeiaa naanak sabadh veechaar || |
| By Your Glance of Grace, I have found peace; O Nanak, reflect upon the Shabad. |
 |
| ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭੂਲੇ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ ਉਬਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| manamukh bhoolae pach mueae oubarae gur beechaar || |
| The self-willed manmukhs are confused; they rot away and die. Only by reflecting upon the Guru can they be saved. |
 |
| ਜਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| j purakh nadhar n aavee this kaa kiaa kar kehiaa jaae || |
| What can anyone say, about that Primal Lord, who cannot be seen? |
 |
| ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਦਿਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੫੨॥ |
| balihaaree gur aapanae jin hiradhai dhithaa dhikhaae ||52|| |
| I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has revealed Him to me, within my own heart. ||52|| |
 |
| ਬਿਦਿਆ ਸੋਧੈ ਤਤੁ ਲਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| bidhiaa sodhhai thath lehai raam naam liv laae || |
| Considering his knowledge, he finds the essence of reality, and lovingly focuses his attention on the Name of the Lord. |
 |
| ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਦਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਟੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ |
| manamukh bidhiaa bikradhaa bikh khattae bikh khaae || |
| The self-willed manmukh sells his knowledge; he earns poison, and eats poison. |
 |
| ਮੂਰਖੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਚੀਨਈ ਸੂਝ ਬੂਝ ਨਹ ਕਾਇ ॥੫੩॥ |
| moorakh sabadh n cheenee soojh boojh neh kaae ||53|| |
| The fool does not think of the Word of the Shabad. He has no understanding, no comprehension. ||53|| |
