| When one's Husband Lord is outside of oneself, then Maya, the bride, is supreme. |

| Without the Name, one wanders all around. |

| The True Guru shows us that the Lord is with us. |

| Making all sorts of efforts, they wander around; but they do not make even one effort. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਹਰਿ ਜਗੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥ |

| rang parang anaek n jaapanih karathabaa || |
| Your colors and hues are so numerous; no one can know Your actions. |

| ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਲਾ ॥ |
| jeeaa andhar jeeo sabh kishh jaanalaa || |
| You are the Soul within all souls; You alone know everything. |

| ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਸਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਭਲਾ ॥ |
| sabh kishh thaerai vas thaeraa ghar bhalaa || |
| Everything is under Your control; Your home is beautiful. |

| ਤੇਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਵਧਾਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਘਰਿ ॥ |
| thaerai ghar aanandh vadhhaaee thudhh ghar || |
| Your home is filled with bliss, which resonates and resounds throughout Your home. |

| ਮਾਣੁ ਮਹਤਾ ਤੇਜੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪਿ ਜਰਿ ॥ |

| Your honor, majesty and glory are Yours alone. |

| ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਰਪੂਰੁ ਦਿਸੈ ਜਤ ਕਤਾ ॥ |

| You are overflowing with all powers; wherever we look, there You are. |

| Your streets are covered with canopies; under them, the traders look beautiful. |

| ਵਖਰੁ ਹਿਕੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਟੇ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ॥੧॥ |

| O Nanak, he alone is truly a banker, who buys the infinite commodity. ||1|| |

| Kabeer, no one is mine, and I belong to no one. |

| The Lord is the most beautiful fruit tree, bearing fruits of Ambrosial Nectar. |

| ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਉਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਵੰਞੈ ਘਿਤਾ ॥ |
| man lochai ounh milan ko kio vannjai ghithaa || |
| My mind longs to meet Him; how can I ever find Him? |

| ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਜਿਤਾ ॥ |
| varanaa chihanaa baaharaa ouhu agam ajithaa || |
| He has no color or form; He is inaccessible and unconquerable. |

| ਓਹੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੈ ਭਿਤਾ ॥ |
| ouhu piaaraa jeea kaa jo kholhai bhithaa || |
| I love Him with all my soul; He opens the door for me. |
|
| ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥ |
| saevaa karee thusaarreeaa mai dhasihu mithaa || |
| I shall serve you forever, if you tell me of my Friend. |

| ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥ |
| kurabaanee vannjaa vaaranai balae bal kithaa || |
| I am a sacrifice, a dedicated, devoted sacrifice to Him. |

| ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥ |
| dhasan santh piaariaa sunahu laae chithaa || |
| The Beloved Saints tell us, to listen with our consciousness. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ॥੧੯॥ |
| jis likhiaa naanak dhaas this naao anmrith sathigur dhithaa ||19|| |
| One who has such pre-ordained destiny, O slave Nanak, is blessed with the Ambrosial Name by the True Guru. ||19|| |

| kabeer dhharathee saadhh kee thasakar baisehi gaahi || |
| Kabeer, the earth belongs to the Holy, but the thieves have come and now sit among them. |

| ਧਰਤੀ ਭਾਰਿ ਨ ਬਿਆਪਈ ਉਨ ਕਉ ਲਾਹੂ ਲਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| dhharathee bhaar n biaapee oun ko laahoo laahi ||1|| |
| The earth does not feel their weight; even they profit. ||1|| |

| Kabeer, for the sake of the rice, the husks are beaten and threshed. |

| ਸੰਗਿ ਕੁਸੰਗੀ ਬੈਸਤੇ ਤਬ ਪੂਛੇ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| sang kusangee baisathae thab pooshhae dhharam raae ||2|| |
| When one sits in the company of evil people, then he will be called to account by the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||2|| |

| ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਵਡ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਇਕਾਤੀਆ ॥ |

| He Himself has the greatest family; He Himself is all alone. |
|
| ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀਆ ॥ |
| aapanee keemath aap aapae hee jaatheeaa || |
| He alone knows His own worth. |
|
| ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪੰਨਿਆ ॥ |
| sabh kishh aapae aap aap oupanniaa || |
| He Himself, by Himself, created everything. |
|
| ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰੰਨਿਆ ॥ |
| aapanaa keethaa aap aap varanniaa || |
| Only He Himself can describe His own creation. |

| ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਤੂੰ ਡਿਠਾ ॥ |
| dhhann s thaerae bhagath jinhee sach thoon ddithaa || |
| Blessed are Your devotees, who see You, O True Lord. |

| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਧੁ ॥ |
| jis no thaeree dhaeiaa salaahae soe thudhh || |
| He alone praises You, who is blessed by Your Grace. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਧੁ ॥੨੦॥ |
| jis gur bhaettae naanak niramal soee sudhh ||20|| |
| One who meets the Guru, O Nanak, is immaculate and sanctified. ||20|| |

| Fareed, this world is beautiful, but there is a thorny garden within it. |

| ਜੋ ਨਰ ਪੀਰਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਚ ਨ ਲਾਗ ॥੧॥ |
| jo nar peer nivaajiaa thinhaa anch n laag ||1|| |
| Those who are blessed by their spiritual teacher are not even scratched. ||1|| |
