| That person is liberated, in whose heart You dwell. |

| gur bandhhan thin kae sagalae kaattae jan naanak sehaj samaaee jeeo ||4||16||23|| |
| The Guru cuts away all his bonds; O Servant Nanak, he is absorbed in the poise of intuitive peace. ||4||16||23|| |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥ |
| prabh kirapaa thae har har dhhiaavo || |
| By God's Kindness, I sing the songs of joy. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਉ ॥ |
| prabhoo dhaeiaa thae mangal gaavo || |
| While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life. ||1|| |

| ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਗਲ ਅਵਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| oothath baithath sovath jaagath har dhhiaaeeai sagal avaradhaa jeeo ||1|| |
| While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life. ||1|| |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀਆ ॥ |
| naam aoukhadhh mo ko saadhhoo dheeaa || |
| The Holy Saint has given me the Medicine of the Naam. |

| ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ |
| kilabikh kaattae niramal thheeaa || |
| My sins have been cut out, and I have become pure. |

| ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਸਭ ਪੀਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| anadh bhaeiaa nikasee sabh peeraa sagal binaasae dharadhaa jeeo ||2|| |
| I am filled with bliss, and all my pains have been taken away. All my suffering has been dispelled. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ |
| jis kaa ang karae maeraa piaaraa || so mukathaa saagar sansaaraa || |
| One who has my Beloved on his side, is liberated from the world-ocean. |

| ਸਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਡਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ |
| sath karae jin guroo pashhaathaa so kaahae ko ddaradhaa jeeo ||3|| |
| One who recognizes the Guru practices Truth; why should he be afraid? ||3|| |

| ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਉ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਏ ॥ |
| jab thae saadhhoo sangath paaeae || gur bhaettath ho gee balaaeae || |
| Since I found the Company of the Holy and met the Guru, the demon of pride has departed. |

| Through and through, the Lord is intermingled with His servant. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥ |
| prabh prathipaalae saevak sukhadhaathaa || |
| God, the Giver of Peace, cherishes His servant. |
|
| ਪਾਣੀ ਪਖਾ ਪੀਸਉ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਕਾ ਆਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| paanee pakhaa peeso saevak kai thaakur hee kaa aahar jeeo ||1|| |
| I carry the water, wave the fan, and grind the grain for the servant of my Lord and Master. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| kaatt silak prabh saevaa laaeiaa || |
| God has cut the noose from around my neck; He has placed me in His Service. |
|
| ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ |
| hukam saahib kaa saevak man bhaaeiaa || |
| He does that which pleases his Lord and Master. Inwardly and outwardly, the servant knows his Lord. ||2|| |

| ਸੋਈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| soee kamaavai jo saahib bhaavai saevak anthar baahar maahar jeeo ||2|| |
| He does that which pleases his Lord and Master. Inwardly and outwardly, the servant knows his Lord. ||2|| |
|
| ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ ॥ |
| thaakur kae saevak har rang maanehi || |
| The servant of the Lord and Master enjoys the Love and Affection of the Lord. |
|
| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ |
| jo kishh thaakur kaa so saevak kaa saevak thaakur hee sang jaahar jeeo ||3|| |
| That which belongs to the Lord and Master, belongs to His servant. The servant becomes distinguished in association with his Lord and Master. ||3|| |
|
| ਅਪੁਨੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| apunai thaakur jo pehiraaeiaa || bahur n laekhaa pushh bulaaeiaa || |
| He, whom the Lord and Master dresses in the robes of honor, is not called to answer for his account any longer. |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸੋ ਗਹਿਰ ਗਭੀਰਾ ਗਉਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੫॥ |
| this saevak kai naanak kurabaanee so gehir gabheeraa gouhar jeeo ||4||18||25|| |
| Nanak is a sacrifice to that servant. He is the pearl of the deep and unfathomable Ocean of God. ||4||18||25|| |

| ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| sabh kishh ghar mehi baahar naahee || |
| Everything is within the home of the self; there is nothing beyond. |
|
| ਬਾਹਰਿ ਟੋਲੈ ਸੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਹੀ ॥ |
| baahar ttolai so bharam bhulaahee || |
| One who searches outside is deluded by doubt. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| gur parasaadhee jinee anthar paaeiaa so anthar baahar suhaelaa jeeo ||1|| |
| Slowly, gently, drop by drop, the stream of nectar trickles down within. |
|
| ਝਿਮਿ ਝਿਮਿ ਵਰਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰਾ ॥ |
| jhim jhim varasai anmrith dhhaaraa || |
| Slowly, gently, drop by drop, the stream of nectar trickles down within. |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ |
| man peevai sun sabadh beechaaraa || |
| The mind drinks it in, hearing and reflecting on the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| anadh binodh karae dhin raathee sadhaa sadhaa har kaelaa jeeo ||2|| |
| It enjoys bliss and ecstasy day and night, and plays with the Lord forever and ever. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥ |
| janam janam kaa vishhurriaa miliaa || |
| I have now been united with the Lord after having been separated and cut off from Him for so many lifetimes; |

| ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੂਕਾ ਹਰਿਆ ॥ |
| saadhh kirapaa thae sookaa hariaa || |
| by the Grace of the Holy Saint, the dried-up branches have blossomed forth again in their greenery. |

| ਸੁਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਏ ਮੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ |
| sumath paaeae naam dhhiaaeae guramukh hoeae maelaa jeeo ||3|| |
| I have obtained this sublime understanding, and I meditate on the Naam; as Gurmukh, I have met the Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗੁ ਜਿਉ ਜਲਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jal tharang jio jalehi samaaeiaa || |
| As the waves of water merge again with the water, |
|
| ਤਿਉ ਜੋਤੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| thio jothee sang joth milaaeiaa || |
| so does my light merge again into the Light. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਟੇ ਕਿਵਾੜਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਈਐ ਜਉਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੬॥ |
| kahu naanak bhram kattae kivaarraa bahurr n hoeeai joulaa jeeo ||4||19||26|| |
| Says Nanak, the veil of illusion has been cut away, and I shall not go out wandering any more. ||4||19||26|| |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਭਣਿਆ ॥ |
| this balihaaree jin rasanaa bhaniaa || |
| I am a sacrifice to those whose tongues speak of You. |
|
| ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| vaar vaar jaaee this vittahu jo man than thudhh aaraadhhae jeeo ||1|| |
| Again and again, I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on You with mind and body. ||1|| |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲੀ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥ |
| this charan pakhaalee jo thaerai maarag chaalai || |
| I wash the feet of those who walk upon Your Path. |

| ਨੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਇਆਲੈ ॥ |
| nain nihaalee this purakh dhaeiaalai || |
| With my eyes, I long to behold those kind people. |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| man dhaevaa this apunae saajan jin gur mil so prabh laadhhae jeeo ||2|| |
| I offer my mind to those friends, who have met the Guru and found God. ||2|| |
|
| ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਣੇ ॥ |
| sae vaddabhaagee jin thum jaanae || |
| Very fortunate are those who know You. |
|
| ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧੇ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੇ ॥ |
| sabh kai madhhae alipath nirabaanae || |
| In the midst of all, they remain detached and balanced in Nirvaanaa. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਨਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਦੂਤ ਉਨਿ ਸਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ |
| saadhh kai sang oun bhoujal thariaa sagal dhooth oun saadhhae jeeo ||3|| |
| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they cross over the terrifying world-ocean, and conquer all their evil passions. ||3|| |
|
| ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ |
| thin kee saran pariaa man maeraa || |
| My mind has entered their Sanctuary. |
|
| ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਜਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥ |
| maan thaan thaj mohu andhhaeraa || |
| I have renounced my pride in my own strength, and the darkness of emotional attachment. |
