| har gun gaavehi sadh hee niramal niramal gun paathisaahaa hae ||15|| |
| One who sings forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord, becomes immaculate; Immaculate are the Glorious Praises of the Sovereign Lord . ||15|| |

| ਗੁਣ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥ |

| The True Lord is the Giver of virtue. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
| guramukh viralaa boojhai koee || |
| How rare are those who, as Gurmukh, understand this. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੨॥੧੧॥ |
| naanak jan naam salaahae bigasai so naam baeparavaahaa hae ||16||2||11|| |
| Servant Nanak praises the Naam; he blossoms forth in the ecstasy of the Name of the self-sufficient Lord. ||16||2||11|| |

| Serve the Dear Lord, the inaccessible and infinite. |

| ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥ |
| this dhaa anth n paaeeai paaraavaaraa || |
| He has no end or limitation. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਮਤਿ ਅਗਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ |
| gur parasaadh raviaa ghatt anthar thith ghatt math agaahaa hae ||1|| |
| By Guru's Grace, one who dwells upon the Lord deep within his heart - his heart is filled with infinite wisdom. ||1|| |

| ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| sabh mehi varathai eaeko soee || |
| The One Lord is pervading and permeating amidst all. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee paragatt hoee || |
| By Guru's Grace, He is revealed. |

| ਸਭਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਕਰੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦੇਦਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ |
| sabhanaa prathipaal karae jagajeevan dhaedhaa rijak sanbaahaa hae ||2|| |
| The Life of the world nurtures and cherishes all, giving sustenance to all. ||2|| |
|
| ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝਿ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ॥ |
| poorai sathigur boojh bujhaaeiaa || |
| The Perfect True Guru has imparted this understanding. |
|
| ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| hukamae hee sabh jagath oupaaeiaa || |
| By the Hukam of His Command, He created the entire Universe. |
|
| ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥ |
| hukam mannae soee sukh paaeae hukam sir saahaa paathisaahaa hae ||3|| |
| Whoever submits to His Command, finds peace; His Command is above the heads of kings and emperors. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ |
| sachaa sathigur sabadh apaaraa || |
| True is the True Guru. Infinite is the Word of His Shabad. |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਦੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ |
| this dhai sabadh nisatharai sansaaraa || |
| Through His Shabad, the world is saved. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਦੇਦਾ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ |
| aapae karathaa kar kar vaekhai dhaedhaa saas giraahaa hae ||4|| |
| The Creator Himself created the creation; He gazes upon it, and blesses it with breath and nourishment. ||4|| |
|
| ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ |
| kott madhhae kisehi bujhaaeae || |
| Out of millions, only a few understand. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh rathae rang laaeae || |
| Imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are colored in His Love. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਾਲਾਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਖਸੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥ |
| har saalaahehi sadhaa sukhadhaathaa har bakhasae bhagath salaahaa hae ||5|| |
| They praise the Lord, the Giver of peace forever; the Lord forgives His devotees, and blesses them with His Praise. ||5|| |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ॥ |
| sathigur saevehi sae jan saachae || |
| Those humble beings who serve the True Guru are true. |
|
| ਜੋ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਕਾਚਨਿ ਕਾਚੇ ॥ |
| jo mar janmehi kaachan kaachae || |
| The falsest of the false die, only to be reborn. |
|
| ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਅਥਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥ |
| agam agochar vaeparavaahaa bhagath vashhal athhaahaa hae ||6|| |
| The inaccessible, unfathomable, self-sufficient, incomprehensible Lord is the Lover of His devotees. ||6|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥ |
| sathigur pooraa saach dhrirraaeae || |
| The Perfect True Guru implants Truth within. |
|
| ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥ |
| sachai sabadh sadhaa gun gaaeae || |
| Through the True Word of the Shabad, they sing His Glorious Praises forever. |
|
| ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ |
| gunadhaathaa varathai sabh anthar sir sir likhadhaa saahaa hae ||7|| |
| The Giver of virtue is pervading deep within the nucleus of all beings; He inscribes the time of destiny upon each and every person's head. ||7|| |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥ |
| sadhaa hadhoor guramukh jaapai || |
| The Gurmukh knows that God is always ever-present. |
|
| ਸਬਦੇ ਸੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥ |
| sabadhae saevai so jan dhhraapai || |
| That humble being who serves the Shabad, is comforted and fulfilled. |
|
| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥ |
| anadhin saevehi sachee baanee sabadh sachai oumaahaa hae ||8|| |
| Night and day, he serves the True Word of the Guru's Bani; he delights in the True Word of the Shabad. ||8|| |
|
| ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧਾ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥ |
| agiaanee andhhaa bahu karam dhrirraaeae || |
| The ignorant and blind cling to all sorts of rituals. |
|
| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਾ ਦੋਰਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥ |
| bikhiaa kaaran lab lobh kamaavehi dhuramath kaa dhoraahaa hae ||9|| |
| For the sake of poison, they act in greed and possessiveness, and evil-minded duality. ||9|| |
|
| ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥ |
| pooraa sathigur bhagath dhrirraaeae || |
| The Perfect True Guru implants devotional worship within. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh har naam chith laaeae || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he lovingly centers his consciousness on the Lord's Name. |

| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭੀਨੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥ |
| man than har raviaa ghatt anthar man bheenai bhagath salaahaa hae ||10|| |
| The Lord pervades his mind, body and heart; deep within, his mind is drenched with devotional worship and praise of the Lord. ||10|| |
|
| ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਣੁ ॥ |
| maeraa prabh saachaa asur sanghaaran || |
| My True Lord God is the Destroyer of demons. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਣੁ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh bhagath nisathaaran || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, His devotees are saved. |
|
| ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥ |
| maeraa prabh saachaa sadh hee saachaa sir saahaa paathisaahaa hae ||11|| |
| My True Lord God is forever True. He is the Emperor over the heads of kings. ||11|| |
|
| ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥ |
| sae bhagath sachae thaerai man bhaaeae || |
| True are those devotees, who are pleasing to Your Mind. |
|
| ਦਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥ |
| dhar keerathan karehi gur sabadh suhaaeae || |
| They sing the Kirtan of His Praises at His Door; they are embellished and exalted by the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥ |
| saachee baanee anadhin gaavehi niradhhan kaa naam vaesaahaa hae ||12|| |
| Night and day, they sing the True Word of His Bani. The Naam is the wealth of the poor. ||12|| |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| jin aapae mael vishhorrehi naahee || |
| Those whom You unite, Lord, are never separated again. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh sadhaa saalaahee || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they praise You forever. |
|
| ਸਭਨਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ |
| sabhanaa sir thoo eaeko saahib sabadhae naam salaahaa hae ||13|| |
| You are the One Lord and Master over all. Through the Shabad, the Naam is praised. ||13|| |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਤੁਧੁਨੋ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ |
| bin sabadhai thudhhuno koee n jaanee || |
| Without the Shabad, no one knows You. |
|
| ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਥੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥ |
| thudhh aapae kathhee akathh kehaanee || |
| You Yourself speak the Unspoken Speech. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸੰਬਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ |
| aapae sabadh sadhaa gur dhaathaa har naam jap sanbaahaa hae ||14|| |
| You Yourself are the Shabad forever, the Guru, the Great Giver; chanting the Lord's Name, You bestow Your treasure. ||14|| |
|
| ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ |
| thoo aapae karathaa sirajanehaaraa || |
| You Yourself are the Creator of the Universe. |
|
| ਤੇਰਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ |
| thaeraa likhiaa koe n maettanehaaraa || |
| No one can erase what You have written. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥ |
| guramukh naam dhaevehi thoo aapae sehasaa ganath n thaahaa hae ||15|| |
| You Yourself bless the Gurmukh with the Naam, who is no longer skeptical, and is not held to account. ||15|| |
