| ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਨਰਕ ਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥ |
| lakh chouraaseeh narak n dhaekhahu rasak rasak gun gaaee hae ||10|| |
| You shall not see the 8.4 million types of hell; sing His Glorious Praises and remain saturated with loving devotion||10|| |
|
| ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਉਧਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ |
| khandd brehamandd oudhhaaranehaaraa || |
| He is the Savior of worlds and galaxies. |
|
| ਊਚ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਗੰਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ |
| ooch athhaah aganm apaaraa || |
| He is lofty, unfathomable, inaccessible and infinite. |
|
| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥ |
| jis no kirapaa karae prabh apanee so jan thisehi dhhiaaee hae ||11|| |
| That humble being, unto whom God grants His Grace, meditates on Him. ||11|| |
|
| ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੋਲੇ ॥ |
| bandhhan thorr leeeae prabh molae || |
| God has broken my bonds, and claimed me as His own. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਨੇ ਘਰ ਗੋਲੇ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa keenae ghar golae || |
| In His Mercy, He has made me the slave of His home. |
|
| ਅਨਹਦ ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੁ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥ |
| anehadh run jhunakaar sehaj dhhun saachee kaar kamaaee hae ||12|| |
| The unstruck celestial sound current resounds and vibrates, when one performs acts of true service. ||12|| |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ |
| man paratheeth banee prabh thaeree || |
| O God, I have enshrined faith in You within my mind. |
|
| ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥ |
| binas gee houmai math maeree || |
| My egotistical intellect has been driven out. |
|
| ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਭ ਸੁਹਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ |
| angeekaar keeaa prabh apanai jag mehi sobh suhaaee hae ||13|| |
| God has made me His own, and now I have a glorious reputation in this world. ||13|| |
|
| ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਜਗਦੀਸੈ ॥ |
| jai jai kaar japahu jagadheesai || |
| Proclaim His Glorious Victory, and meditate on the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਈਸੈ ॥ |
| bal bal jaaee prabh apunae eesai || |
| I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to my Lord God. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਏਕਾ ਜਗਤਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ |
| this bin dhoojaa avar n dheesai eaekaa jagath sabaaee hae ||14|| |
| I do not see any other except Him. The One Lord pervades the whole world. ||14|| |

| ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ |
| sath sath sath prabh jaathaa || |
| True, True, True is God. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ |
| gur parasaadh sadhaa man raathaa || |
| By Guru's Grace, my mind is attuned to Him forever. |

| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਏਕੰਕਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥ |
| simar simar jeevehi jan thaerae eaekankaar samaaee hae ||15|| |
| Your humble servants live by meditating, meditating in remembrance on You, merging in You, O One Universal Creator. ||15|| |

| ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ |

| The Dear Lord is the Beloved of His humble devotees. |

| ਸਭੈ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ |
| sabhai oudhhaaran khasam hamaaraa || |
| My Lord and Master is the Savior of all. |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਸਭ ਇਛਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੧॥ |
| simar naam punnee sabh eishhaa jan naanak paij rakhaaee hae ||16||1|| |
| Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all desires are fulfilled. He has saved the honor of servant Nanak. ||16||1|| |

| The body-bride is attached to the Yogi, the husband-soul. |

| ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹੀ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੀ ॥ |
| ourajh rehee rang ras maanee || |
| She is involved with him, enjoying pleasure and delights. |
|
| ਕਿਰਤ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਭਏ ਇਕਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਤੇ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ |
| kirath sanjogee bheae eikathraa karathae bhog bilaasaa hae ||1|| |
| As a consequence of past actions, they have come together, enjoying pleasurable play. ||1|| |
|
| ਜੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਧਨ ਤਤੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥ |
| jo pir karai s dhhan thath maanai || |
| Whatever the husband does, the bride willingly accepts. |
|
| ਪਿਰੁ ਧਨਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ਰਖੈ ਸੰਗਾਨੈ ॥ |
| pir dhhanehi seegaar rakhai sangaanai || |
| The husband adorns his bride, and keeps her with himself. |
|
| ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕਤ੍ਰ ਵਸਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਦੇ ਧਨਹਿ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ |
| mil eaekathr vasehi dhin raathee prio dhae dhhanehi dhilaasaa hae ||2|| |
| Joining together, they live in harmony day and night; the husband comforts his wife. ||2|| |
|
| ਧਨ ਮਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ |
| dhhan maagai prio bahu bidhh dhhaavai || |
| When the bride asks, the husband runs around in all sorts of ways. |
|
| ਜੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਆਣਿ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jo paavai so aan dhikhaavai || |
| Whatever he finds, he brings to show his bride. |
|
| ਏਕ ਵਸਤੁ ਕਉ ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਧਨ ਰਹਤੀ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥ |
| eaek vasath ko pahuch n saakai dhhan rehathee bhookh piaasaa hae ||3|| |
| But there is one thing he cannot reach, and so his bride remains hungry and thirsty. ||3|| |
|
| ਧਨ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਨਉ ਦੋਊ ਕਰ ਜੋਰੈ ॥ |
| dhhan karai bino dhooo kar jorai || |
| With her palms pressed together, the bride offers her prayer, |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪਰਦੇਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੁ ਵਸਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਮੋਰੈ ॥ |
| pria paradhaes n jaahu vasahu ghar morai || |
| "O my beloved, do not leave me and go to foreign lands; please stay here with me. |
|
| ਐਸਾ ਬਣਜੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ |
| aisaa banaj karahu grih bheethar jith outharai bhookh piaasaa hae ||4|| |
| Do such business within our home, that my hunger and thirst may be relieved.""||4|| |
|
| ਸਗਲੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਧਾ ॥ |
| sagalae karam dhharam jug saadhhaa || |
| All sorts of religious rituals are performed in this age, |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਲਾਧਾ ॥ |
| bin har ras sukh thil nehee laadhhaa || |
| but without the sublime essence of the Lord, not an iota of peace is found. |

| ਧਨ ਅੰਧੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਚਪਲੁ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥ |
| dhhan andhhee pir chapal siaanaa || |
| The body-bride is blind, and the groom is clever and wise. |
|
| ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕਾ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਨਾ ॥ |
| panch thath kaa rachan rachaanaa || |
| The creation was created of the five elements. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਵਖਰ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਆਏ ਹਹੁ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥ |
| jis vakhar ko thum aaeae hahu so paaeiou sathigur paasaa hae ||6|| |
| That merchandise, for which you have come into the world, is received only from the True Guru. ||6|| |
|
| ਧਨ ਕਹੈ ਤੂ ਵਸੁ ਮੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ |
| dhhan kehai thoo vas mai naalae || |
| The body-bride says, ""Please live with me, |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲੇ ॥ |
| pria sukhavaasee baal gupaalae || |
| O my beloved, peaceful, young lord. |
|
| ਤੁਝੈ ਬਿਨਾ ਹਉ ਕਿਤ ਹੀ ਨ ਲੇਖੈ ਵਚਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ |
| thujhai binaa ho kith hee n laekhai vachan dhaehi shhodd n jaasaa hae ||7|| |
| Without you, I am of no account. Please give me your word, that you will not leave me"". ||7|| |
|
| ਪਿਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਹਉ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬੰਦਾ ॥ |
| pir kehiaa ho hukamee bandhaa || |
| The soul-husband says, ""I am the slave of my Commander. |
|
| ਓਹੁ ਭਾਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਾਣਿ ਨ ਛੰਦਾ ॥ |
| ouhu bhaaro thaakur jis kaan n shhandhaa || |
| He is my Great Lord and Master, who is fearless and independent. |
|
| ਜਿਚਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਣਾ ਜਾ ਸਦੇ ਤ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥ |
| jichar raakhai thichar thum sang rehanaa jaa sadhae th ooth sidhhaasaa hae ||8|| |
| As long as He wills, I will remain with you. When He summons me, I shall arise and depart.""||8|| |
|
| ਜਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ ਧਨ ਸਾਚੇ ॥ |
| jo pria bachan kehae dhhan saachae || |
| The husband speaks words of Truth to the bride, |
|
| ਧਨ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸਮਝੈ ਚੰਚਲਿ ਕਾਚੇ ॥ |
| dhhan kashhoo n samajhai chanchal kaachae || |
| but the bride is restless and inexperienced, and she does not understand anything. |
|
| ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਓਹੁ ਬਾਤ ਜਾਨੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥ |
| bahur bahur pir hee sang maagai ouhu baath jaanai kar haasaa hae ||9|| |
| Again and again, she begs her husband to stay; she thinks that he is just joking when he answers her. ||9|| |
|
| ਆਈ ਆਗਿਆ ਪਿਰਹੁ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| aaee aagiaa pirahu bulaaeiaa || |
| The Order comes, and the husband-soul is called. |
