| ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋਈ ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਵੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥ |
| chathur saroop siaanaa soee jo man thaerai bhaaveejaa hae ||11|| |
| They alone are clever, handsome and wise, who are pleasing to Your Mind. ||11|| |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥ |
| jis cheeth aavehi so vaeparavaahaa || |
| One who keeps You in his consciousness, becomes carefree and independent. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਾ ॥ |
| jis cheeth aavehi so saachaa saahaa || |
| One who keeps You in his consciousness, is the true king. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਕੇਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥ |
| jis cheeth aavehi this bho kaehaa avar kehaa kishh keejaa hae ||12|| |
| One who keeps You in his consciousness - what does he have to fear? And what else does he need to do? ||12|| |
|
| ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੀ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਠੰਢਾ ॥ |
| thrisanaa boojhee anthar thandtaa || |
| Thirst and desire are quenched, and one's inner being is cooled and soothed. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਤੂਟਾ ਗੰਢਾ ॥ |
| gur poorai lai thoottaa gandtaa || |
| The True Guru has mended the broken one. |
|
| ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਅਮਿਉ ਝੋਲਿ ਝੋਲਿ ਪੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ |
| surath sabadh ridh anthar jaagee amio jhol jhol peejaa hae ||13|| |
| Awareness of the Word of the Shabad has awakened within my heart. Shaking it and vibrating it, I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||13|| |
|
| ਮਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜੀਵੈ ॥ |
| marai naahee sadh sadh hee jeevai || |
| I shall not die; I shall live forever and ever. |
|
| ਅਮਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਥੀਵੈ ॥ |
| amar bhaeiaa abinaasee thheevai || |
| I have become immortal; I am eternal and imperishable. |
|
| ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਭਰਮੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ |
| naa ko aavai naa ko jaavai gur dhoor keeaa bharameejaa hae ||14|| |
| I do not come, and I do not go. The Guru has driven out my doubts. ||14|| |

| ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |
| poorae gur kee pooree baanee || |
| Perfect is the Word of the Perfect Guru. |
|
| ਪੂਰੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ |
| poorai laagaa poorae maahi samaanee || |
| One who is attached to the Perfect Lord, is immersed in the Perfect Lord. |

| ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਰੰਗਾ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੋਲੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥ |
| charrai savaaeiaa nith nith rangaa ghattai naahee tholeejaa hae ||15|| |
| His love increases day by day, and when it is weighed, it does not decrease. ||15|| |
|
| ਬਾਰਹਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| baarehaa kanchan sudhh karaaeiaa || |
| When the gold is made one hundred percent pure, |
|
| ਨਦਰਿ ਸਰਾਫ ਵੰਨੀ ਸਚੜਾਇਆ ॥ |
| nadhar saraaf vannee sacharraaeiaa || |
| its color is true to the jeweller's eye. |
|
| ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਰਾਫੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾਈਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥ |
| parakh khajaanai paaeiaa saraafee fir naahee thaaeejaa hae ||16|| |
| Assaying it, it is placed in the treasury by God the Jeweller, and it is not melted down again. ||16|| |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ |
| anmrith naam thumaaraa suaamee || |
| Your Naam is Ambrosial Nectar, O my Lord and Master. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥ |
| naanak dhaas sadhaa kurabaanee || |
| Nanak, Your slave, is forever a sacrifice to You. |

| ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੭॥੧॥੩॥ |
| santhasang mehaa sukh paaeiaa dhaekh dharasan eihu man bheejaa hae ||17||1||3|| |
| In the Society of the Saints, I have found great peace; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, this mind is pleased and satisfied. ||17||1||3|| |

| The Guru is merciful, and always forgiving. |

| Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, all the sins are erased. |

| ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਜਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਫਾਸਹਿ ॥ |

| Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, one is not strangled by the noose of Death. |

| ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਾਟੇ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ |
| gur simarath man niramal hovai gur kaattae apamaanaa hae ||2|| |
| Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, the mind becomes immaculate; the Guru eliminates egotistical pride. ||2|| |

| The Guru's servant is not consigned to hell. |

| The Guru's servant meditates on the Supreme Lord God. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਦਾ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥ |
| gur kaa saevak saadhhasang paaeae gur karadhaa nith jeea dhaanaa hae ||3|| |
| The Guru's servant joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; the Guru ever gives the life of the soul. ||3|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥ |

| At the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣੀਐ ॥ |
| sathigur bhaett har jas mukh bhaneeai || |
| Meeting with the True Guru, one chants the Lord's Praises. |

| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਦੇਵੈ ਮਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ |
| kal kalaes mittaaeae sathigur har dharageh dhaevai maanaan hae ||4|| |
| The True Guru eradicates sorrow and suffering, and bestows honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4|| |

| ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥ |
| agam agochar guroo dhikhaaeiaa || |
| The Guru has revealed the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord. |
|
| ਭੂਲਾ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| bhoolaa maarag sathigur paaeiaa || |
| The True Guru returns to the Path, those who have wandered away. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਗਿਆਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੫॥ |
| gur saevak ko bighan n bhagathee har poor dhrirrhaaeiaa giaanaan hae ||5|| |
| No obstacles stand in the way of devotion to the Lord, for one who serves the Guru. The Guru implants perfect spiritual wisdom. ||5|| |

| ਗੁਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਠਾਂਈ ॥ |
| gur dhrisattaaeiaa sabhanee thaanee || |
| The Guru has revealed the Lord everywhere. |
|
| ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥ |
| jal thhal poor rehiaa gosaaee || |
| The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading the water and the land. |
|
| ਊਚ ਊਨ ਸਭ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥ |
| ooch oon sabh eaek samaanaan man laagaa sehaj dhhiaanaa hae ||6|| |
| The high and the low are all the same to Him. Focus your mind's meditation intuitively on Him. ||6|| |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ |
| gur miliai sabh thrisan bujhaaee || |
| Meeting with the Guru, all thirst is quenched. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਹ ਜੋਹੈ ਮਾਈ ॥ |
| gur miliai neh johai maaee || |
| Meeting with the Guru, one is not watched by Maya. |

| ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਪਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ |
| sath santhokh dheeaa gur poorai naam anmrith pee paanaan hae ||7|| |
| The Perfect Guru bestows truth and contentment; I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||7|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ |
| gur kee baanee sabh maahi samaanee || |
| The Word of the Guru's Bani is contained in all. |
|
| ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ |
| aap sunee thai aap vakhaanee || |
| He Himself hears it, and He Himself repeats it. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਪੀ ਤੇਈ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਸਤ੍ਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੮॥ |
| jin jin japee thaeee sabh nisathrae thin paaeiaa nihachal thhaanaan hae ||8|| |
| Those who meditate on it, are all emancipated; they attain the eternal and unchanging home. ||8|| |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ |
| sathigur kee mehimaa sathigur jaanai || |
| The Glory of the True Guru is known only to the True Guru. |

| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੈ ॥ |
| jo kishh karae s aapan bhaanai || |
| Whatever He does, is according to the Pleasure of His Will. |

| ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾਂ ਹੇ ॥੯॥੧॥੪॥ |
| saadhhoo dhhoor jaachehi jan thaerae naanak sadh kurabaanaan hae ||9||1||4|| |
