| ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ॥ |
| maerae man har har gun kahu rae || |
| O my mind, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੁ ਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sathiguroo kae charan dhhoe dhhoe poojahu ein bidhh maeraa har prabh lahu rae || rehaao || |
| Wash the Feet of the True Guru, and worship them. In this way, you shall find my Lord God. ||Pause|| |

| ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ ਇਨ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਤੂ ਰਹੁ ਰੇ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh lobh mohu abhimaan bikhai ras ein sangath thae thoo rahu rae || |
| Sexual desire, anger, greed, attachment, egotism and corrupt pleasures - stay away from these. |
|
| ਅੰਤਰ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਤੂ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਹੁ ਰੇ ॥ |
| anthar kaa abhimaan jor thoo kishh kishh kishh jaanathaa eihu dhoor karahu aapan gahu rae || |
| So you think that the egotistical pride in power which you harbor deep within is everything. Let it go, and restrain your self-conceit. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥ |
| jan naanak ko har dhaeiaal hohu suaamee har santhan kee dhhoor kar harae ||2||1||2|| |
| Please be kind to servant Nanak, O Lord, my Lord and Master; please make him the dust of the Feet of the Saints. ||2||1||2|| |

| O mother, I have awakened in the Society of the Saints. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗ ਦੇਖੈ ਜਪਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| pria rang dhaekhai japathee naam nidhhaanee || rehaao || |
| Seeing the Love of my Beloved, I chant His Name, the greatest treasure||Pause|| |

| ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੋਚਨ ਤਾਰ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ |
| dharasan piaas lochan thaar laagee || |
| I am so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. my eyes are focused on Him; |
|
| ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਆਸ ਬਿਡਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| bisaree thiaas biddaanee ||1|| |
| I have forgotten other thirsts. ||1|| |
|
| ਅਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਾਨੀ ॥ |
| ab gur paaeiou hai sehaj sukhadhaaeik dharasan paekhath man lapattaanee || |
| Now, I have found my Peace-giving Guru with ease; seeing His Darshan, my mind clings to Him. |

| ਦੇਖਿ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਰਹਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੧॥ |
| dhaekh dhamodhar rehas man oupajiou naanak pria anmrith baanee ||2||1|| |
| Seeing my Lord, joy has welled up in my mind; O Nanak, the speech of my Beloved is so sweet! ||2||1|| |

| Please listen to the prayers of the humble, O Merciful Lord. |

| ਪੰਚ ਦਾਸ ਤੀਨਿ ਦੋਖੀ ਏਕ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥ ॥ |
| panch dhaas theen dhokhee eaek man anaathh naathh || |
| The five thieves and the three dispositions torment my mind. |
|
| ਰਾਖੁ ਹੋ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| raakh ho kirapaal || rehaao || |
| O Merciful Lord, Master of the masterless, please save me from them. ||Pause|| |
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਗਵਨੁ ਕਰਉ ॥ |
| anik jathan gavan karo || |
| I make all sorts of efforts and go on pilgrimages; |
|
| ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਉ ॥ |
| khatt karam jugath dhhiaan dhharo || |
| I perform the six rituals, and meditate in the right way. |
|
| ਉਪਾਵ ਸਗਲ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਨਹ ਨਹ ਹੁਟਹਿ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥੧॥ |
| oupaav sagal kar haariou neh neh huttehi bikaraal ||1|| |
| I am so tired of making all these efforts, but the horrible demons still do not leave me. ||1|| |
|
| ਸਰਣਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਪਤੇ ॥ |
| saran bandhan karunaa pathae || |
| I seek Your Sanctuary, and bow to You, O Compassionate Lord. |
|
| ਭਵ ਹਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥ |
| bhav haran har har har harae || |
| You are the Destroyer of fear, O Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har. |
|
| ਏਕ ਤੂਹੀ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ |
| eaek thoohee dheen dhaeiaal || |
| You alone are Merciful to the meek. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸਰੋ ॥ |

| Nanak takes the Support of God's Feet. |

| I have been rescued from the ocean of doubt, |

| holding tight to the feet and the robes of the Saints. ||2||1||2|| |

| I have come to Your Sanctuary, O Lord, O Supreme Treasure. |

| ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| naam preeth laagee man bheethar maagan ko har dhaan ||1|| rehaao || |
| Love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is enshrined within my mind; I beg for the gift of Your Name. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮਾਨ ॥ |
| sukhadhaaee pooran paramaesur kar kirapaa raakhahu maan || |
| O Pefect Transcendent Lord, Giver of Peace, please grant Your Grace and save my honor. |

| ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਰਸਨ ਬਖਾਨ ॥੧॥ |
| dhaehu preeth saadhhoo sang suaamee har gun rasan bakhaan ||1|| |
| Please bless me with such love, O my Lord and Master, that in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I may chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord with my tongue. ||1|| |

| ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਥਾ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ |
| gopaal dhaeiaal gobidh dhamodhar niramal kathhaa giaan || |
| O Lord of the World, Merciful Lord of the Universe, Your sermon and spiritual wisdom are immaculate and pure. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਗਹੁ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਿਆਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੩॥ |
| naanak ko har kai rang raagahu charan kamal sang dhhiaan ||2||1||3|| |
| Please attune Nanak to Your Love, O Lord, and focus his meditation on Your Lotus Feet. ||2||1||3|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa sathasang milaavahu thum dhaevahu apano naao || rehaao || |
| Please grant Your Grace, and unite me with the Society of the Saints; please bless me with Your Name. ||Pause|| |

| ਵਾਰੀ ਫੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਕਵਨੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਠਾਉ ॥੧॥ |
| vaaree faeree sadhaa ghumaaee kavan anoop thaero thaao ||1|| |
| I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice, forever devoted to You. Your place is incomparably beautiful! ||1|| |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸਗਲਿਆ ਤੇਰੀ ਛਾਉ ॥ |
| sarab prathipaalehi sagal samaalehi sagaliaa thaeree shhaao || |
| You cherish and nurture all; You take care of all, and Your shade covers all. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਉ ॥੨॥੨॥੪॥ |
| naanak kae prabh purakh bidhhaathae ghatt ghatt thujhehi dhikhaao ||2||2||4|| |
| You are the Primal Creator, the God of Nanak; I behold You in each and every heart. ||2||2||4|| |

| magan manai mehi chithavo aasaa nainahu thaar thuhaaree || rehaao || |
| My mind is intoxicated with delight, and my consciousness is filled with hope; my eyes are drenched with Your Love. ||Pause|| |

| ਓਇ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਰ ਮੂਰਤ ਪਲ ਕੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਪਲ ਘਰੀ ਕਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ |
| oue dhin pehar moorath pal kaisae oue pal gharee kihaaree || |
| Blessed is that day, that hour, minute and second when the heavy, rigid shutters are opened, and desire is quenched. |

| ਖੂਲੇ ਕਪਟ ਧਪਟ ਬੁਝਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜੀਵਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| khoolae kapatt dhhapatt bujh thrisanaa jeevo paekh dharasaaree ||1|| |
| Seeing the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, I live. ||1|| |

| ਕਉਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਤਨੁ ਉਪਾਉ ਕਿਨੇਹਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ |
| koun s jathan oupaao kinaehaa saevaa koun beechaaree || |
| What is the method, what is the effort, and what is the service, which inspires me to contemplate You? |

| ਮਾਨੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੫॥ |
| maan abhimaan mohu thaj naanak santheh sang oudhhaaree ||2||3||5|| |
| Abandon your egotistical pride and attachment; O Nanak, you shall be saved in the Society of the Saints. ||2||3||5|| |
