| ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ |
| pragatt bhaeiaa saadhhoo kai sang || |
| He is manifest in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |

| ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥ |
| bhagath araadhhehi anadhin rang ||2|| |
| The devotees lovingly worship and adore Him night and day. ||2|| |

| ਦੇਦੇ ਤੋਟਿ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ |
| dhaedhae thott nehee bhanddaar || |
| He gives, but His treasures are never exhausted. |
|
| ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰ ॥ |
| khin mehi thhaap outhhaapanehaar || |
| In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| jaa kaa hukam n maettai koe || |
| No one can erase the Hukam of His Command. |
|
| ਸਿਰਿ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥ |
| sir paathisaahaa saachaa soe ||3|| |
| The True Lord is above the heads of kings. ||3|| |
|
| ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹਮਰਾ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਾ ॥ |
| dhukh sukh hamaraa this hee paasaa || |
| I place my pain and pleasure before Him. |
|
| ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਸਭੁ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਪੜਦਾ ॥ |

| He covers the faults of His humble servant. |

| The whiner whines every day. |
|
| ਬਲਨ ਬਰਤਨ ਕਉ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ |
| balan barathan ko sanabandhh chith aaeiaa || |
| His attachment to his household and entanglements cloud his mind. |
|
| ਬੂਝਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| boojh bairaag karae jae koe || |
| If someone becomes detached through understanding, |
|
| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਫਿਰਿ ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
| janam maran fir sog n hoe ||1|| |
| he will not have to suffer in birth and death again. ||1|| |
|
| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਧੰਧੁ ਪਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| bikhiaa kaa sabh dhhandhh pasaar || |
| All of his conflicts are extensions of his corruption. |

| ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| How rare is that person who takes the Naam as his Support. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਹੀ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥ |

| The three-phased Maya infects all. |
|
| ਜੋ ਲਪਟਾਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥ |
| jo lapattaano this dhookh santhaap || |
| Whoever clings to it suffers pain and sorrow. |
|
| ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ |
| sukh naahee bin naam dhhiaaeae || |
| There is no peace without meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥ |
| naam nidhhaan baddabhaagee paaeae ||2|| |
| By great good fortune, the treasure of the Naam is received. ||2|| |

| ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗੀ ਸਿਉ ਜੋ ਮਨੁ ਰੀਝਾਵੈ ॥ |
| svaangee sio jo man reejhaavai || |
| One who loves the actor in his mind, |
|
| ਸ੍ਵਾਗਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਵੈ ॥ |
| svaag outhaariai fir pashhuthaavai || |
| later regrets it when the actor takes off his costume. |
|
| ਮੇਘ ਕੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਰਤਨਹਾਰ ॥ |
| maegh kee shhaaeiaa jaisae barathanehaar || |
| The shade from a cloud is transitory, |
|
| ਤੈਸੋ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥੩॥ |
| thaiso parapanch moh bikaar ||3|| |
| like the worldly paraphernalia of attachment and corruption. ||3|| |
|
| ਏਕ ਵਸਤੁ ਜੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| eaek vasath jae paavai koe || |
| If someone is blessed with the singular substance, |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜੁ ਤਾਹੀ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| pooran kaaj thaahee kaa hoe || |
| then all of his tasks are accomplished to perfection. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ |
| gur prasaadh jin paaeiaa naam || |
| One who obtains the Naam, by Guru's Grace |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੩੩॥ |

| Slandering the Saints, he is diseased. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਮ ॥ |
| santh kee nindhaa dhookh sehaam || |
| Slandering the Saints, he suffers in pain. |

| ਡਾਨੁ ਦੈਤ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਜਾਮ ॥੧॥ |
| ddaan dhaith nindhak ko jaam ||1|| |
| The slanderer is punished by the Messenger of Death. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੋ ਬਾਦੁ ॥ |
| santhasang karehi jo baadh || |
| Those who argue and fight with the Saints |
|
| ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਦੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| thin nindhak naahee kishh saadh ||1|| rehaao || |
| - those slanderers find no happiness at all. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੰਧੁ ਛੇਦਾਵੈ ॥ |

| Slandering the devotees, the wall of the mortal's body is shattered. |

| ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਨਰਕੁ ਭੁੰਚਾਵੈ ॥ |
| bhagath kee nindhaa narak bhunchaavai || |
| Slandering the devotees, he suffers in hell. |
|
| ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਗਲੈ ॥ |
| bhagath kee nindhaa garabh mehi galai || |
| Slandering the devotees, he rots in the womb. |
|
| ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਟਲੈ ॥੨॥ |
| bhagath kee nindhaa raaj thae ttalai ||2|| |
| Slandering the devotees, he loses his realm and power. ||2|| |
|
| ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਤਹੂ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| nindhak kee gath kathehoo naahi || |
| The slanderer finds no salvation at all. |
|
| ਆਪਿ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ |
| aap beej aapae hee khaahi || |
| He eats only that which he himself has planted. |
|
| ਚੋਰ ਜਾਰ ਜੂਆਰ ਤੇ ਬੁਰਾ ॥ |
| chor jaar jooaar thae buraa || |
| He is worse than a thief, a lecher, or a gambler. |
|
| ਅਣਹੋਦਾ ਭਾਰੁ ਨਿੰਦਕਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਰਾ ॥੩॥ |
| anehodhaa bhaar nindhak sir dhharaa ||3|| |
| The slanderer places an unbearable burden upon his head. ||3|| |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥ |
| paarabreham kae bhagath niravair || |
| The devotees of the Supreme Lord God are beyond hate and vengeance. |
|
| ਸੋ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ਜੋ ਪੂਜੈ ਪੈਰ ॥ |
| so nisatharai jo poojai pair || |
| Whoever worships their feet is emancipated. |
|
| ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਭੋਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| aadh purakh nindhak bholaaeiaa || |
| The Primal Lord God has deluded and confused the slanderer. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੩੪॥ |

| Through the Naam, my tasks are perfectly accomplished. |
