| ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥ |

| The Name of the Lord - this alone is my wealth. |

| ਗਾਂਠਿ ਨ ਬਾਧਉ ਬੇਚਿ ਨ ਖਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gaanth n baadhho baech n khaao ||1|| rehaao || |
| I do not tie it up to hide it, nor do I sell it to make my living. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਖੇਤੀ ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੀ ॥ |

| The Name is my crop, and the Name is my field. |

| ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਉ ਜਨੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| bhagath karo jan saran thumhaaree ||1|| |
| As Your humble servant, I perform devotional worship to You; I seek Your Sanctuary. ||1|| |

| ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂੰਜੀ ॥ |
| naao maerae maaeiaa naao maerae poonjee || |
| The Name is Maya and wealth for me; the Name is my capital. |
|
| ਤੁਮਹਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਨਉ ਨਹੀ ਦੂਜੀ ॥੨॥ |
| thumehi shhodd jaano nehee dhoojee ||2|| |
| I do not forsake You; I do not know any other at all. ||2|| |
|
| ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਧਿਪ ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| naao maerae bandhhip naao maerae bhaaee || |
| The Name is my family, the Name is my brother. |
|
| ਨਾਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| naao maerae sang anth hoe sakhaaee ||3|| |
| The Name is my companion, who will help me in the end. ||3|| |
|
| ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਖੈ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥ |
| maaeiaa mehi jis rakhai oudhaas || |
| One whom the Lord keeps detached from Maya |

| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੧॥ |
| kehi kabeer ho thaa ko dhaas ||4||1|| |
| - says Kabeer, I am his slave. ||4||1|| |

| ਨਾਂਗੇ ਆਵਨੁ ਨਾਂਗੇ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ |
| naangae aavan naangae jaanaa || |
| Naked we come, and naked we go. |

| ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥ |
| raam raajaa no nidhh maerai || |
| The Sovereign Lord is the nine treasures for me. |
|
| ਸੰਪੈ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sanpai haeth kalath dhhan thaerai ||1|| rehaao || |
| The possessions and the spouse to which the mortal is lovingly attached, are Your wealth, O Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਆਵਤ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਗਾਤੀ ॥ |
| aavath sang n jaath sangaathee || |
| They do not come with the mortal, and they do not go with him. |
|
| ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥ |
| kehaa bhaeiou dhar baandhhae haathhee ||2|| |
| What good does it do him, if he has elephants tied up at his doorway? ||2|| |
|
| ਲੰਕਾ ਗਢੁ ਸੋਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ॥ |
| lankaa gadt sonae kaa bhaeiaa || |
| The fortress of Sri Lanka was made out of gold, |
|
| ਮੂਰਖੁ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਲੇ ਗਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| moorakh raavan kiaa lae gaeiaa ||3|| |
| but what could the foolish Raawan take with him when he left? ||3|| |
|
| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| kehi kabeer kishh gun beechaar || |
| Says Kabeer, think of doing some good deeds. |
|
| ਚਲੇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਦੁਇ ਹਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥ |
| chalae juaaree dhue hathh jhaar ||4||2|| |
| In the end, the gambler shall depart empty-handed. ||4||2|| |
|
| ਮੈਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਇੰਦੁ ॥ |
| mailaa brehamaa mailaa eindh || |
| Brahma is polluted, and Indra is polluted. |
|
| ਰਵਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ ਚੰਦੁ ॥੧॥ |
| rav mailaa mailaa hai chandh ||1|| |
| The sun is polluted, and the moon is polluted. ||1|| |
|
| ਮੈਲਾ ਮਲਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| mailaa malathaa eihu sansaar || |
| This world is polluted with pollution. |
|
| ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Only the One Lord is Immaculate; He has no end or limitation. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮੈਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਇ ਕੈ ਈਸ ॥ |
| mailae brehamanddaae kai ees || |
| The rulers of kingdoms are polluted. |
|
| ਮੈਲੇ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਸ ॥੨॥ |
| mailae nis baasur dhin thees ||2|| |
| Nights and days, and the days of the month are polluted. ||2|| |
|
| ਮੈਲਾ ਮੋਤੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੀਰੁ ॥ |
| mailaa mothee mailaa heer || |
| The pearl is polluted, the diamond is polluted. |
|
| ਮੈਲਾ ਪਉਨੁ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਅਰੁ ਨੀਰੁ ॥੩॥ |
| mailaa poun paavak ar neer ||3|| |
| Wind, fire and water are polluted. ||3|| |
|
| ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੰਕਰਾ ਮਹੇਸ ॥ |
| mailae siv sankaraa mehaes || |
| Shiva, Shankara and Mahaysh are polluted. |
|
| ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਭੇਖ ॥੪॥ |
| mailae sidhh saadhhik ar bhaekh ||4|| |
| The Siddhas, seekers and strivers, and those who wear religious robes, are polluted. ||4|| |

| ਮੈਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਜਟਾ ਸਹੇਤਿ ॥ |
| mailae jogee jangam jattaa sehaeth || |
| The Yogis and wandering hermits with their matted hair are polluted. |
|
| ਮੈਲੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਹੰਸ ਸਮੇਤਿ ॥੫॥ |
| mailee kaaeiaa hans samaeth ||5|| |
| The body, along with the swan-soul, is polluted. ||5|| |
|
| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੬॥੩॥ |
| kehi kabeer thae jan paravaan || niramal thae jo raamehi jaan ||6||3|| |
| Says Kabeer, those humble beings are approved and pure, who know the Lord. ||6||3|| |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਕਾ ਕਿਬਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ॥ |
| man kar makaa kibalaa kar dhaehee || |
| Let your mind be Mecca, and your body the temple of worship. |
|
| ਬੋਲਨਹਾਰੁ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
| bolanehaar param gur eaehee ||1|| |
| Let the Supreme Guru be the One who speaks. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥ |
| kahu rae mulaan baang nivaaj || |
| O Mullah, utter the call to prayer. |
|
| ਏਕ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਦਸੈ ਦਰਵਾਜ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eaek maseeth dhasai dharavaaj ||1|| rehaao || |
| The one mosque has ten doors. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਮਿਸਿਮਿਲਿ ਤਾਮਸੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਦੂਰੀ ॥ |
| misimil thaamas bharam kadhooree || |
| So slaughter your evil nature, doubt and cruelty; |
|
| ਭਾਖਿ ਲੇ ਪੰਚੈ ਹੋਇ ਸਬੂਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
| bhaakh lae panchai hoe sabooree ||2|| |
| consume the five demons and you shall be blessed with contentment. ||2|| |
|
| ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕ ॥ |
| hindhoo thurak kaa saahib eaek || |
| Hindus and Muslims have the same One Lord and Master. |
|
| ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਸੇਖ ॥੩॥ |
| keh karai mulaan keh karai saekh ||3|| |
| What can the Mullah do, and what can the Shaykh do? ||3|| |
|
| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ॥ |
| kehi kabeer ho bhaeiaa dhivaanaa || |
| Says Kabeer, I have gone insane. |
|
| ਮੁਸਿ ਮੁਸਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੪॥ |
| mus mus manooaa sehaj samaanaa ||4||4|| |
| Slaughtering, slaughtering my mind, I have merged into the Celestial Lord. ||4||4|| |

| ਗੰਗਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਬਿਗਰੀ ॥ਸੋ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਗੰਗਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| gangaa kai sang salithaa bigaree || so salithaa gangaa hoe nibaree ||1|| |
| When the stream flows into the Ganges, then it becomes the Ganges. ||1|| |
|
| ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥ |
| bigariou kabeeraa raam dhuhaaee || |
| Just so, Kabeer has changed. |
|
| ਸਾਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਅਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| saach bhaeiou an kathehi n jaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
| He has become the Embodiment of Truth, and he does not go anywhere else. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਚੰਦਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥ |
| chandhan kai sang tharavar bigariou || |
| Associating with the sandalwood tree, the tree nearby is changed; |
|
| ਸੋ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੨॥ |
| so tharavar chandhan hoe nibariou ||2|| |
| that tree begins to smell just like the sandalwood tree. ||2|| |
