| ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚੂਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |

| When the Guru granted His Grace, my egotism was eradicated, |

| ਸਹਜ ਭਾਇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥ |

| and then, I obtained the Lord's Name with intuitive ease. ||3|| |

| ਊਤਮੁ ਊਚਾ ਸਬਦ ਕਾਮੁ ॥ |

| The most lofty and exalted occupation is to contemplate the Word of the Shabad. |

| The season of spring has come, and all the plants have blossomed forth. |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ |
| eihu man mouliaa sathiguroo sang ||1|| |
| This mind blossoms forth, in association with the True Guru. ||1|| |

| ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਨਾ ॥ |
| thumh saach dhhiaavahu mugadhh manaa || |
| So meditate on the True Lord, O my foolish mind. |

| ਤਾਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| thaan sukh paavahu maerae manaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| Only then shall you find peace, O my mind. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਇਤੁ ਮਨਿ ਮਉਲਿਐ ਭਇਆ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥ |

| This mind blossoms forth, and I am in ecstasy. |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੨॥ |
| anmrith fal paaeiaa naam gobindh ||2|| |
| I am blessed with the Ambrosial Fruit of the Naam, the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||2|| |

| ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ |
| eaeko eaek sabh aakh vakhaanai || |
| Everyone speaks and says that the Lord is the One and Only. |

| ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਤਾਂ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥੩॥ |
| hukam boojhai thaan eaeko jaanai ||3|| |
| By understanding the Hukam of His Command, we come to know the One Lord. ||3|| |

| ਕਹਤ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਹੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, no one can describe the Lord by speaking through ego. |

| All speech and insight comes from our Lord and Master. ||4||2||14|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਹੋਏ ॥੧॥ |

| Meeting with the True Guru, one's intellect is awakened. ||1|| |

| When the mind is in spring, all people are rejuvenated. |

| ਫਲਹਿ ਫੁਲੀਅਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ |
| falehi fuleeahi raam naam sukh hoe ||2|| |
| Blossoming forth and flowering through the Lord's Name, peace is obtained. ||2|| |

| Contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one is in spring forever |

| When the mind is in spring, the body and mind are rejuvenated. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੫॥ |

| O Nanak, this body is the tree which bears the fruit of the Lord's Name. ||4||3||15|| |

| They alone are in the spring season, who sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |

| ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| poorai bhaag har bhagath karaae ||1|| |
| They come to worship the Lord with devotion, through their perfect destiny. ||1|| |

| ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਬਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| eis man ko basanth kee lagai n soe || |
| This mind is not even touched by spring. |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਜਲਿਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਦੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eihu man jaliaa dhoojai dhoe ||1|| rehaao || |
| This mind is burnt by duality and double-mindedness. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਬਾਂਧਾ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ |
| eihu man dhhandhhai baandhhaa karam kamaae || |
| This mind is entangled in worldly affairs, creating more and more karma. |
 |
| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੂਠਾ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| maaeiaa moothaa sadhaa bilalaae ||2|| |
| Enchanted by Maya, it cries out in suffering forever. ||2|| |
 |
| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਛੂਟੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ॥ |
| eihu man shhoottai jaan sathigur bhaettai || |
| This mind is released, only when it meets with the True Guru. |
 |
| ਜਮਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਫੇਟੈ ॥੩॥ |
| jamakaal kee fir aavai n faettai ||3|| |
| Then, it does not suffer beatings by the Messenger of Death. ||3|| |
 |
| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਛੂਟਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਲੀਆ ਛਡਾਇ ॥ |
| eihu man shhoottaa gur leeaa shhaddaae || |
| This mind is released, when the Guru emancipates it. |
 |
| ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੬॥ |
| naanak maaeiaa mohu sabadh jalaae ||4||4||16|| |
| O Nanak, attachment to Maya is burnt away through the Word of the Shabad. ||4||4||16|| |

| ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| ein bidhh eihu man hariaa hoe || |
| In this way, this mind is rejuvenated. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਢੈ ਧੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har har naam japai dhin raathee guramukh houmai kadtai dhhoe ||1|| rehaao || |
| Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, day and night, egotism is removed and washed away from the Gurmukhs. ||1||Pause|| |

| The True Guru speaks the Bani of the Word, and the Shabad, the Word of God. |

| eihu jag hariaa sathigur bhaaeae ||2|| |
| This world blossoms forth in its greenery, through the love of the True Guru. ||2|| |

| ਫਲ ਫੂਲ ਲਾਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| fal fool laagae jaan aapae laaeae || |
| The mortal blossoms forth in flower and fruit, when the Lord Himself so wills. |

| ਮੂਲਿ ਲਗੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ |
| mool lagai thaan sathigur paaeae ||3|| |
| He is attached to the Lord, the Primal Root of all, when he finds the True Guru. ||3|| |

| ਆਪਿ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਵਾੜੀ ॥ |

| The Lord Himself is the season of spring; the whole world is His Garden. |
