| Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, O Siblings of Destiny. They drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's sublime essence. |

| ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਉਠਿ ਗਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਵੁਠਾ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥ |
| vichahu houmai dhukh outh gaeiaa bhaaee sukh vuthaa man aae ||2|| |
| The pain of egotism within is eradicated and banished, O Siblings of Destiny, and peace comes to dwell in their minds. ||2|| |

| ਧੁਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਨੋ ਬਖਸਿਓਨੁ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦੇ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
| dhhur aapae jinhaa no bakhasioun bhaaee sabadhae laeian milaae || |
| Those whom the Primal Lord Himself forgives, O Siblings of Destiny, are united with the Word of the Shabad. |

| dhhoorr thinhaa kee aghuleeai bhaaee sathasangath mael milaae ||3|| |
| The dust of their feet brings emancipation; in the company of Sadh Sangat, the True Congregation, we are united with the Lord. ||3|| |

| He Himself does, and causes all to be done, O Siblings of Destiny; He makes everything blossom forth in green abundance. |

| the Lord permeates each and every heart, through and through. ||1|| |

| The One Lord is permeating and pervading all places. |

| The One Lord is deep within each and every heart. |

| Meeting with the Guru, the One Lord becomes manifest, radiating forth. ||2|| |

| The One and Only Lord is present and prevailing everywhere. |

| The greedy, faithless cynic thinks that God is far away. ||3|| |

| ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਲੋਇ ॥ |

| The One and Only Lord permeates and pervades the world. |

| O mortal, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, who protects you forever, and saves you in the end. ||1|| |

| kaal dhaith sanghaarae jam pur geae ||2|| |
| They are destroyed by Death's demons, and they must go to the City of Death. ||2|| |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ |

| The Gurmukhs are lovingly attached to the Lord, Har, Har, Har. |

| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੋਊ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥ |
| janam maran dhooo dhukh bhaagae ||3|| |
| Their pains of both birth and death are taken away. ||3|| |
|
| ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |
| bhagath janaa ko har kirapaa dhhaaree || |
| The Lord showers His Mercy on His humble devotees. |

| sathigur milai th khojeeai mil jothee joth samaanee ||1|| |
| When one meets the True Guru, then he searches and finds it, and his light merges with the Divine Light. ||1|| |

| ਮਾਧੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
| maadhho saadhhoo jan dhaehu milaae || |
| O Lord, lead me to meet with the Holy Person, the Guru. |

| ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| dhaekhath dharas paap sabh naasehi pavithr param padh paae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all my sins are erased, and I obtain the supreme, sublime, sanctified status. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਗਰੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥ |
| panch chor mil laagae nagareeaa raam naam dhhan hiriaa || |
| The five thieves join together and plunder the body-village, stealing the wealth of the Lord's Name. |

| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਜ ਪਰੇ ਤਬ ਪਕਰੇ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਉਬਰਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| guramath khoj parae thab pakarae dhhan saabath raas oubariaa ||2|| |
| But through the Guru's Teachings, they are traced and caught, and this wealth is recovered intact. ||2|| |

| ਪਾਖੰਡ ਭਰਮ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ |
| paakhandd bharam oupaav kar thhaakae ridh anthar maaeiaa maaeiaa || |
| Practicing hypocrisy and superstition, people have grown weary of the effort, but still, deep within their hearts, they yearn for Maya, Maya. |

| ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਰਖਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| saadhhoo purakh purakhapath paaeiaa agiaan andhhaer gavaaeiaa ||3|| |
| By the Grace of the Holy Person, I have met with the Lord, the Primal Being, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3|| |

| ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jagannaathh jagadhees gusaaee kar kirapaa saadhh milaavai || |
| The Lord, the Lord of the Earth, the Lord of the Universe, in His Mercy, leads me to meet the Holy Person, the Guru. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥ |

| har dheen dhaeiaal karahu prabh kirapaa gur sathigur charan ham banashhae ||1|| |
| O Lord, Merciful to the meek, please grant Your Grace; O God, I long for the feet of the Guru, the True Guru. ||1|| |

| janam janam kae kilavikh mal bhariaa mil sangath kar prabh hanashhae ||1|| rehaao || |
| I was overflowing with the filthy sins of countless past lives. But joining the Sangat, God made me pure again. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਵਿਜਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥ |
| thumharaa jan jaath avijaathaa har japiou pathith paveeshhae || |
| Your humble servant, whether of high class or low class, O Lord - by meditating on You, the sinner becomes pure. |

| The Lord exalts and elevates him above the whole world, and the Lord God blesses him with the Lord's Glory. ||2|| |
