| ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਥਕੇ ॥ |
| dhusatt dhooth sabh bhram thhakae || |
| The demons and wicked enemies have grown weary of struggling against Him. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| bin gur saachae nehee jaae || |
| Without the True Guru, there is no place to go. |

| ਦੁਖੁ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸੰਤਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਧਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| dhukh dhaes dhisanthar rehae dhhaae ||2|| |
| Wandering through the lands and foreign countries, people only grow tired and suffer in pain. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਿਰਤੁ ਓਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਕਾ ਮਿਟਸਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| kirath ounhaa kaa mittas naahi || |
| The record of their past actions cannot be erased. |
|
| ਓਇ ਅਪਣਾ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ |
| oue apanaa beejiaa aap khaahi || |
| They harvest and eat what they have planted. |
|
| ਜਨ ਕਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| jan kaa rakhavaalaa aap soe || |
| The Lord Himself is the Protector of His humble servants. |
|
| ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਕਸਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੩॥ |
| jan ko pahuch n sakas koe ||3|| |
| No one can rival the humble servant of the Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦਾਸ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
| prabh dhaas rakhae kar jathan aap || |
| By His own efforts, God protects His slave. |
|
| ਅਖੰਡ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੁ ॥ |
| akhandd pooran jaa ko prathaap || |
| God's Glory is perfect and unbroken. |
|
| ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਰਸਨ ਗਾਇ ॥ |
| gun gobindh nith rasan gaae || |
| So sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe with your tongue forever. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੧੨॥ |

| Dwelling at the Guru's Feet, pain and suffering go away. |

| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ਮਇਆ ॥ |
| paarabreham prabh karee maeiaa || |
| The Supreme Lord God has shown mercy to me. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥ |
| sarab manorathh pooran kaam || |
| All my desires and tasks are fulfilled. |
|
| ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥ |

| Chanting the Lord's Name, Nanak lives. ||1|| |

| ਸਾ ਰੁਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ॥ |
| saa ruth suhaavee jith har chith aavai || |
| How beautiful is that season, when the Lord fills the mind. |
|
| ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ |
| sae dhhanavanth jin har prabh raas || |
| They alone are rich, who have the Wealth of the Lord God. |
|
| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਾਸਿ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh gur sabadh naas || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, sexual desire and anger are eradicated. |
|
| ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| bhai binasae nirabhai padh paaeiaa || |
| Their fear is dispelled, and they attain the state of fearlessness. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| gur mil naanak khasam dhhiaaeiaa ||2|| |
| Meeting with the Guru, Nanak meditates on his Lord and Master. ||2|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਓ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥ |

| God dwells in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |

| ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਹੋਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ॥ |

| Chanting and meditating on the Lord, one's hopes are fulfilled. |
|
| ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ |
| jal thhal meheeal rav rehiaa || |
| God permeates and pervades the water, the land and the sky. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ॥੩॥ |

| Meeting with the Guru, Nanak chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3|| |

| ਅਸਟ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਏਹ ॥ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹ ॥ |
| asatt sidhh nav nidhh eaeh || karam paraapath jis naam dhaeh || |
| The eight miraculous spiritual powers and the nine treasures are contained in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. This is bestowed when God grants His Grace. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ॥ |

| Your slaves, O God, live by chanting and meditating on Your Name. |

| Meditating on the Lord, all desires are fulfilled, |

| ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ |

| and the mortal is re-united with God, after having been separated for so long. ||1|| |

| ਤੁਮ ਰਵਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੈ ਰਵਣ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ |

| Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, who is worthy of meditation. |

| ਜਿਤੁ ਰਵਿਐ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਭੋਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Meditating on Him, enjoy celestial peace and poise. ||1||Pause|| |

| Bestowing His Mercy, He blesses us with His Glance of Grace. |

| ਅਪਣਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿਆ ॥੨॥ |

| God Himself takes care of His slave. ||2|| |

| ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਰਸਿ ਬਨੀ ॥ |

| My bed has been beautified by His Love. |

| ਆਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਖ ਧਨੀ ॥੩॥ |

| God, the Giver of Peace, has come to meet me. ||3|| |

| He does not consider my merits and demerits. |

| ਅਨਦਿਨ ਉਪਜੀ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| anadhin oupajee sehaj dhhunaa ||1|| |
| night and day, celestial joy wells up. ||1|| |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ |
| man mouliou har charan sang || |
| My mind has blossomed forth, by the touch of the Lord's Feet. |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਭੇਟੇ ਨਿਤ ਰਾਤੌ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa saadhhoo jan bhaettae nith raatha har naam rang ||1|| rehaao || |
| By His Grace, He has led me to meet the Holy men, the humble servants of the Lord. I remain continually imbued with the love of the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗਪਾਲ ॥ |

| In His Mercy, the Lord of the World has revealed Himself to me. |

| ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੨॥ |
| larr laae oudhhaarae dheen dhaeiaal ||2|| |
| The Lord, Merciful to the meek, has attached me to the hem of His robe and saved me. ||2|| |
|
| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧ ਧੂਰਿ ॥ |
| eihu man hoaa saadhh dhhoor || |
| This mind has become the dust of the Holy; |
|
| ਨਿਤ ਦੇਖੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੩॥ |
| nith dhaekhai suaamee hajoor ||3|| |
| I behold my Lord and Master, continually, ever-present. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਗਈ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh thrisanaa gee || |
| Sexual desire, anger and desire have vanished. |
