ਏਵਡੁ ਊਚਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
eaevadd oochaa hovai koe || |
Only one as Great and as High as God |

ਹਉ ਪੰਥੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਸੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ |
ho panthh dhasaaee nith kharree koee prabh dhasae thin jaao || |
I stand by the wayside and ask the Way. If only someone would show me the Way to God-I would go with him. |

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
paarabreham prabh eaek hai dhoojaa naahee koe || |
There is only the One Supreme Lord God; there is no other at all. |

ਨਿਡਰਿਆ ਡਰੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ॥੩॥ |
niddariaa ddar jaaneeai baajh guroo gubaar ||3|| |
One who does not fear God shall live in fear; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. ||3|| |

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਤੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
har prabh dhaathaa eaek thoon thoon aapae bakhas milaae || |
O Lord God, You are the One and Only Giver; You forgive us, and unite us with Yourself. |

ਜਹ ਏਕਹਿ ਏਕ ਏਕ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥ |
jeh eaekehi eaek eaek bhagavanthaa || |
When there was only the One, the One and Only Lord God, |
 |
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਾਏ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ |
maeraa prabh laaeae thaa ko laagai || |
When my God attaches someone to Him, only then is that person attached. |
 |
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
anthar baahar har prabh eaeko dhoojaa avar n koee || |
Inwardly and outwardly, they saw only the One Lord God; for them there was no other second. |

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਅੜਾ ਰਖਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
har anthar baahar har prabh eaeko eihu jeearraa rakhiaa n jaae jeeo || |
Inwardly and outwardly, the Lord God is the One and Only; this soul cannot be concealed from Him. |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
har har prabh eaeko avar n koee thoon aapae purakh sujaan jeeo || |
The Lord God, Har, Har, is the One and only; there is no other at all. You Yourself are the all-knowing Lord. |

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਲਖ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਓਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
prabh eaek anik alakh thaakur outt naanak this gehee ||1|| |
God is the One and only, the Unseen Lord and Master; O Nanak, I have grasped His protection. ||1|| |

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
dheen dhaeiaal bheae prabh apanae bahurr janam nehee maariou ||1|| rehaao || |
When God becomes merciful to the meek, then one does not have to suffer reincarnation, only to die again. ||1||Pause|| |

ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਵਥੁ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ਵਸਤੁ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਏ ॥੩॥ |
jis kee vathh soee prabh jaanai jis no dhaee s paaeae || vasath anoop ath agam agochar gur pooraa alakh lakhaaeae ||3|| |
Only one who has it knows God; he alone has it, to whom God has given it - so very beautiful, unapproachable and unfathomable. Through the Perfect Guru, the unknowable is known. ||3|| |

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੁਝੈ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥ |
sabh ko aakhai aapanaa bhaaee gur thae bujhai sujaan || |
Everyone calls God his own, O Siblings of Destiny, but the all-knowing Lord is known only through the Guru. |

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਇਕੁ ਏਹੁ ॥ |
prabh dhaeiaal baeanth pooran eik eaehu || |
God is merciful and infinite. The One and Only is all-pervading. |
 |
ਹਮਾਰੈ ਏਕੈ ਹਰੀ ਹਰੀ ॥ |
hamaarai eaekai haree haree || |
I have only the One Lord, my God. |
 |
ਅਜਹੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ |
ajehoo kashh bigariou nehee jo prabh gun gaavai || |
Even now, no harm has been done, if you will only sing God's Praises. |

ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਨੇੜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ |
jis bujhaaeae aap naerraa this hae ||7|| |
But only that one, who understands his own self, sees God near at hand. ||7|| |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ |
har har eaeko paaeiaa har prabh naanak kirapaa dhhaarae || |
I have found the One and only Lord, Har, Har. The Lord God has showered His Mercy upon Nanak. |

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ॥ |
anthar baahar har prabh eaeko mil har jan mangal gaaeae || |
Deep within, and outside as well, there is only the One Lord God. Meeting together, the humble servants of the Lord sing the songs of joy. |

ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਥਾਟੁ ਬਨਾਇਓ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
aadh madhh prabh anth suaamee apanaa thhaatt banaaeiou aap || |
In the beginning, in the middle and in the end, God is our only Lord and Master. He Himself fashioned His Creation. |

ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਸਦੇਸਾ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਰਾ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਈਆ ॥ |
koee aan sadhaesaa dhaee prabh kaeraa ridh anthar man than meeth lageeaa || |
If only someone would bring me news of God; He seems so sweet to my heart, mind and body. |

ਕੋਈ ਆਨਿ ਆਨਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਗਈਆ ॥ |
koee aan aan maeraa prabhoo milaavai ho this vittahu bal bal ghum geeaa || |
If only someone would come and unite me with God; I am devoted, dedicated, a sacrifice to him. |

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥ |
breham dheesai breham suneeai eaek eaek vakhaaneeai || |
I see God, hear God, and speak of the One and only God. |

ਸੰਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
santh gobindh kai eaekai kaam ||1|| rehaao || |
The Saints, and God, have only one job to do. ||1||Pause|| |

ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਏਕੈ ਓਹੀ ॥ |
eehaa oohaa eaekai ouhee || |
Here and there, only the One God exists. |
 |
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥ |
eaeko eaek kehai sabh koee houmai garab viaapai || |
Everyone says that God is the One and only, but they are engrossed in egotism and pride. |

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ |
man than saas giraas prabh eiko eik dhhiaae || |
In your mind and body, with each breath and morsel of food, meditate on the One and only Lord God. |

ਏਕੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਇਕੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ |
eaek purakh eik nadharee aavai sabh eaekaa nadhar nihaarae ||2|| |
He sees the One and only Primal Lord God, who blesses all with His Glance of Grace. ||2|| |

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
bin sathigur saevae bhagath n paaeeai poorai bhaag milai prabh soee ||1|| rehaao || |
But without serving the True Guru, devotional worship is not obtained. Only through perfect destiny does one meet God. ||1||Pause|| |

ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਕਾ ਏਕੁ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥ |
musalamaan kaa eaek khudhaae || |
The Muslim has only One God. |
 |
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕੈ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੈ ॥ |
praan adhhaar meeth saajan prabh eaekai eaekankaarai || |
God is the Support of the breath of life, my Best Friend and Companion, the One and Only Creator of the Universe. |

ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸਾਉ ਸਾਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਇਕਾਂਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
paekh paekh bigasaao saajan prabh aapanaa eikaanth ||1|| rehaao || |
Gazing upon and beholding my Best Friend, I blossom forth in bliss; my God is the One and Only. ||1||Pause|| |

ਹਮਰੀ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ॥ |
hamaree jihabaa eaek prabh har kae gun agam athhaah || |
I have only one tongue, and the Glorious Virtues of the Lord God are Unapproachable and Unfathomable. |

ਕੋਈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਕਹੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਦਿਨਥੇ ॥ |
koee maarag panthh bathaavai prabh kaa kahu thin ko kiaa dhinathhae || |
If only someone would show me the Way, the Path of God. Tell me - what could I give him? |

ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਅਰਪਿ ਅਰਾਪਉ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਥੇ ॥੩॥ |
sabh than man arapo arap araapo koee maelai prabh milathhae ||3|| |
I would surrender, offer and dedicate all my body and mind to him; if only someone would unite me in God's Union! ||3|| |

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਦਰਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਏਕ ਜੀਹ ਕਿਆ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥ |
jan naanak bhagath dhar thul breham samasar eaek jeeh kiaa bakhaanai || |
Your devotees are at Your Door, O God - they are just like You. How can servant Nanak describe them with only one tongue? |
