| ਖੋਟੇ ਖਰੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ॥ |

| You Yourself created the counterfeit and the genuine. |

| ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਬਾਏ ॥ |

| You Yourself appraise all people. |

| ਖਰੇ ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਹਿ ਖੋਟੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥ |
| kharae parakh khajaanai paaeihi khottae bharam bhulaavaniaa ||6|| |
| You appraise the true, and place them in Your Treasury; You consign the false to wander in delusion. ||6|| |

| ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਾ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ |
| kio kar vaekhaa kio saalaahee || |
| How can I behold You? How can I praise You? |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee sabadh salaahee || |
| By Guru's Grace, I praise You through the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਤੂੰ ਭਾਣੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ |
| thaerae bhaanae vich anmrith vasai thoon bhaanai anmrith peeaavaniaa ||7|| |
| In Your Sweet Will, the Amrit is found; by Your Will, You inspire us to drink in this Amrit. ||7|| |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |

| The Shabad is Amrit; the Lord's Bani is Amrit. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ |
| sathigur saeviai ridhai samaanee || |
| Serving the True Guru, it permeates the heart. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਭ ਭੁਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੫॥੧੬॥ |
| naanak anmrith naam sadhaa sukhadhaathaa pee anmrith sabh bhukh lehi jaavaniaa ||8||15||16|| |
| O Nanak, the Ambrosial Naam is forever the Giver of peace; drinking in this Amrit, all hunger is satisfied. ||8||15||16|| |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ |
| anmrith varasai sehaj subhaaeae || |
| The Ambrosial Nectar rains down, softly and gently. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
| guramukh viralaa koee jan paaeae || |
| How rare are those Gurmukhs who find it. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| anmrith pee sadhaa thripathaasae kar kirapaa thrisanaa bujhaavaniaa ||1|| |
| Those who drink it in are satisfied forever. Showering His Mercy upon them, the Lord quenches their thirst. ||1|| |

| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆਵਣਿਆ ॥ |
| ho vaaree jeeo vaaree guramukh anmrith peeaavaniaa || |
| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those Gurmukhs who drink in this Ambrosial Nectar. |

| ਰਸਨਾ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| rasanaa ras chaakh sadhaa rehai rang raathee sehajae har gun gaavaniaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| The tongue tastes the essence, and remains forever imbued with the Lord's Love, intuitively singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਹਜੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee sehaj ko paaeae || |
| By Guru's Grace, intuitive understanding is obtained; |
|
| ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| dhubidhhaa maarae eikas sio liv laaeae || |
| subduing the sense of duality, they are in love with the One. |
|
| ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| nadhar karae thaa har gun gaavai nadharee sach samaavaniaa ||2|| |
| When He bestows His Glance of Grace, then they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; by His Grace, they merge in Truth. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਭਨਾ ਉਪਰਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ |
| sabhanaa oupar nadhar prabh thaeree || |
| Above all is Your Glance of Grace, O God. |
|
| ਕਿਸੈ ਥੋੜੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਹੈ ਘਣੇਰੀ ॥ |
| kisai thhorree kisai hai ghanaeree || |
| Upon some it is bestowed less, and upon others it is bestowed more. |
|
| ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| thujh thae baahar kishh n hovai guramukh sojhee paavaniaa ||3|| |
| Without You, nothing happens at all; the Gurmukhs understand this. ||3|| |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤੁ ਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ |
| guramukh thath hai beechaaraa || |
| The Gurmukhs contemplate the essence of reality; |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥ |
| anmrith bharae thaerae bhanddaaraa || |
| Your Treasures are overflowing with Ambrosial Nectar. |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ |
| bin sathigur saevae koee n paavai gur kirapaa thae paavaniaa ||4|| |
| Without serving the True Guru, no one obtains it. It is obtained only by Guru's Grace. ||4|| |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥ |
| sathigur saevai so jan sohai || |
| Those who serve the True Guru are beautiful. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮਿ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹੈ ॥ |
| anmrith naam anthar man mohai || |
| The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, entices their inner minds. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਣਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥ |
| anmrith man than baanee rathaa anmrith sehaj sunaavaniaa ||5|| |
| Their minds and bodies are attuned to the Ambrosial Bani of the Word; this Ambrosial Nectar is intuitively heard. ||5|| |
|
| ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਏ ॥ |
| manamukh bhoolaa dhoojai bhaae khuaaeae || |
| The deluded, self-willed manmukhs are ruined through the love of duality. |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਲੇਵੈ ਮਰੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਏ ॥ |
| naam n laevai marai bikh khaaeae || |
| They do not chant the Naam, and they die, eating poison. |
|
| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਹਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥ |
| anadhin sadhaa visattaa mehi vaasaa bin saevaa janam gavaavaniaa ||6|| |
| Night and day, they continually sit in manure. Without selfless service, their lives are wasted away. ||6|| |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਪੀਆਏ ॥ |
| anmrith peevai jis no aap peeaaeae || |
| They alone drink in this Amrit, whom the Lord Himself inspires to do so. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee sehaj liv laaeae || |
| By Guru's Grace, they intuitively enshrine love for the Lord. |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ |
| pooran poor rehiaa sabh aapae guramath nadharee aavaniaa ||7|| |
| The Perfect Lord is Himself perfectly pervading everywhere; through the Guru's Teachings, He is perceived. ||7|| |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| aapae aap niranjan soee || |
| He Himself is the Immaculate Lord. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਗੋਈ ॥ |
| jin sirajee thin aapae goee || |
| He who has created, shall Himself destroy. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੬॥੧੭॥ |
| naanak naam samaal sadhaa thoon sehajae sach samaavaniaa ||8||16||17|| |
| O Nanak, remember the Naam forever, and you shall merge into the True One with intuitive ease. ||8||16||17|| |

| Those who please You are linked to the Truth. |

| ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ |
| sadhaa sach saevehi sehaj subhaaeae || |
| They serve the True One forever, with intuitive ease. |
|
| ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| sachai sabadh sachaa saalaahee sachai mael milaavaniaa ||1|| |
| Through the True Word of the Shabad, they praise the True One, and they merge in the merging of Truth. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਿਆ ॥ |
| ho vaaree jeeo vaaree sach saalaahaniaa || |
| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who praise the True One. |

| ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sach dhhiaaein sae sach raathae sachae sach samaavaniaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| Those who meditate on the True One are attuned to Truth; they are absorbed into the Truest of the True. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥ |
| jeh dhaekhaa sach sabhanee thhaaee || |
| The True One is everywhere, wherever I look. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee mann vasaaee || |
| By Guru's Grace, I enshrine Him in my mind. |
|
| ਤਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਨਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| than sachaa rasanaa sach raathee sach sun aakh vakhaananiaa ||2|| |
| True are the bodies of those whose tongues are attuned to Truth. They hear the Truth, and speak it with their mouths. ||2|| |
