| The infinite substance is within it. |

| ਇਸ ਹੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੁਨੀਅਤ ਸਾਹੁ ॥ |
| eis hee bheethar suneeath saahu || |
| Within it, the great merchant is said to dwell. |

| ਕਵਨੁ ਬਾਪਾਰੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਊਹਾ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ |
| kavan baapaaree jaa kaa oohaa visaahu ||1|| |
| Who is the trader who deals there? ||1|| |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਕੋ ਕੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥ |
| naam rathan ko ko biouhaaree || |
| How rare is that trader who deals in the jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਆਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| anmrith bhojan karae aahaaree ||1|| rehaao || |
| He takes the Ambrosial Nectar as his food. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥ |
| man than arapee saev kareejai || |
| He dedicates his mind and body to serving the Lord. |
|
| ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਭੀਜੈ ॥ |
| kavan s jugath jith kar bheejai || |
| How can we please the Lord? |
|
| ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਤਜਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੈ ॥ |
| paae lago thaj maeraa thaerai || |
| This is the way of life in the world of the faithless cynic. ||2|| |

| ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਨੁ ਜੋ ਸਉਦਾ ਜੋਰੈ ॥੨॥ |
| kavan s jan jo soudhaa jorai ||2|| |
| Who can settle this bargain? ||2|| |
|
| ਮਹਲੁ ਸਾਹ ਕਾ ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
| mehal saah kaa kin bidhh paavai || |
| while he believes the Ambrosial Naam to be bitter. |
|
| ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥ |
| kavan s bidhh jith bheethar bulaavai || |
| How can I get Him to call me inside? |
|
| ਤੂੰ ਵਡ ਸਾਹੁ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ॥ |
| thoon vadd saahu jaa kae kott vanajaarae || |
| You are the Great Merchant; You have millions of traders. |
|
| ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਲੇ ਸੰਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ |
| kavan s dhaathaa lae sanchaarae ||3|| |
| Who is the benefactor? Who can take me to Him? ||3|| |
|
| ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਨਿਜ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| khojath khojath nij ghar paaeiaa || |
| Seeking and searching, I have found my own home, deep within my own being. |
|
| ਅਮੋਲ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਦਿਖਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| amol rathan saach dhikhalaaeiaa || |
| The True Lord has shown me the priceless jewel. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਬ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਾਹਿ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa jab maelae saahi || |
| When the Great Merchant shows His Mercy, He blends us into Himself. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਵੇਸਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੮੫॥ |

| Night and day, they remain in the Love of the One. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਾ ॥ |
| prabh ko jaanai sadh hee sangaa || |
| They know that God is always with them. |
|
| ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੀਓ ਉਨਿ ਵਰਤਨਿ ॥ |
| thaakur naam keeou oun varathan || |
| They make the Name of their Lord and Master their way of life; |
|
| ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਵਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ॥੧॥ |
| thripath aghaavan har kai dharasan ||1|| |
| By myself, I cannot do anything at all, O Divine Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਹਰੇ ॥ |
| har sang raathae man than harae || |
| Imbued with the Love of the Lord, their minds and bodies are rejuvenated, |

| ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gur poorae kee saranee parae ||1|| rehaao || |
| entering the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਆਤਮ ਆਧਾਰ ॥ |
| charan kamal aatham aadhhaar || |
| If it pleases You, then the True Guru showers His Mercy upon me. |
|
| ਏਕੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਹਿ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰ ॥ |
| eaek nihaarehi aagiaakaar || |
| They see only the One, and obey His Order. |
|
| ਏਕੋ ਬਨਜੁ ਏਕੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥ |
| eaeko banaj eaeko biouhaaree || |
| There is only one trade, and one occupation. |
|
| ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
| avar n jaanehi bin nirankaaree ||2|| |
| They know no other than the Formless Lord. ||2|| |
|
| ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਦੁਹਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੇ ॥ |
| harakh sog dhuhehoon thae mukathae || |
| They are free of both pleasure and pain. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਜੋਗ ਅਰੁ ਜੁਗਤੇ ॥ |
| sadhaa alipath jog ar jugathae || |
| Your servant prays to You, O Lord and Master. ||3|| |
|
| ਦੀਸਹਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥ |
| dheesehi sabh mehi sabh thae rehathae || |
| They are seen among all, and yet they are distinct from all. |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਓਇ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਤੇ ॥੩॥ |
| paarabreham kaa oue dhhiaan dhharathae ||3|| |
| They focus their meditation on the Supreme Lord God. ||3|| |

| ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਵਨ ਵਖਾਨਉ ॥ |
| santhan kee mehimaa kavan vakhaano || |
| How can I describe the Glories of the Saints? |
|
| ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਉ ॥ |
| agaadhh bodhh kishh mith nehee jaano || |
| Their knowledge is unfathomable; their limits cannot be known. |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ |
| paarabreham mohi kirapaa keejai || |
| O Supreme Lord God, please shower Your Mercy upon me. |
|

| You are my honor; You are my decoration. |

| Without You, I cannot survive, even for an instant. ||1|| |

| As You keep me, so do I survive. |

| ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਨਾ ॥ |
| jo thum kehahu soee mohi karanaa || |
| Whatever You say, that is what I do. |
|
| ਜਹ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਮ ਬਸਨਾ ॥ |
| jeh paekho thehaa thum basanaa || |
| Wherever I look, there I see You dwelling. |
|
| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਸਨਾ ॥੨॥ |
| nirabho naam japo thaeraa rasanaa ||2|| |
| O my Fearless Lord, with my tongue, I chant Your Name. ||2|| |

| ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੂੰ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥ |

| You are my nine treasures, You are my storehouse. |

| ਰੰਗ ਰਸਾ ਤੂੰ ਮਨਹਿ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ |

| I am imbued with Your Love; You are the Support of my mind. |

| ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚੀਆ ॥ |

| You are my Glory; I am blended with You. |
|
| ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਕੀਆ ॥੩॥ |

| You are my Shelter; You are my Anchoring Support. ||3|| |

| ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ |

| Deep within my mind and body, I meditate on You. |
|
| ਮਰਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |

| I have obtained Your secret from the Guru. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਿਆ ਇਕੁ ਏਕੈ ॥ |

| Through the True Guru, the One and only Lord was implanted within me; |
