| ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੇ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਰਿ ॥ |
| lokan kee chathuraaee oupamaa thae baisanthar jaar || |
| I have burnt in the fire the clever devices and praises of the world. |

| ਕੋਈ ਭਲਾ ਕਹਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਹਉ ਹਮ ਤਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਹੈ ਢਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ |
| koee bhalaa keho bhaavai buraa keho ham than dheeou hai dtaar ||1|| |
| Some speak good of me, and some speak ill of me, but I have surrendered my body to You. ||1|| |

| ਜੋ ਆਵਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ |
| jo aavath saran thaakur prabh thumaree this raakhahu kirapaa dhhaar || |
| Whoever comes to Your Sanctuary, O God, Lord and Master, You save by Your Merciful Grace. |

| ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਾਧ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| dhaekh dhaekh jeevaa saadhh gur dharasan jis hiradhai naam muraaree ||1|| rehaao || |
| I live by continuously beholding the Blessed Vision of the Holy Guru's Darshan; within His Mind is the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| thum pavithr paavan purakh prabh suaamee ham kio kar mileh joothaaree || |
| You are pure and immaculate, O God, Almighty Lord and Master; how can I, the impure one, meet You? |

| ਹਮਰੈ ਜੀਇ ਹੋਰੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਰੁ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਕਰਮਹੀਣ ਕੂੜਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| hamarai jeee hor mukh hor hoth hai ham karameheen koorriaaree ||1|| |
| I have one thing in my mind, and another thing on my lips; I am such a poor, unfortunate liar! ||1|| |

| ਹਮਰੀ ਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦੁਸਟ ਦੁਸਟਾਰੀ ॥ |
| hamaree mudhr naam har suaamee ridh anthar dhusatt dhusattaaree || |
| I appear to chant the Lord's Name, but within my heart, I am the most wicked of the wicked. |

| ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੫॥ |
| jio bhaavai thio raakhahu suaamee jan naanak saran thumhaaree ||2||5|| |
| As it pleases You, save me, O Lord and Master; servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ||2||5|| |

| Without the Name of the Lord, the beautiful are just like the noseless ones. |

| ਜਿਉ ਬੇਸੁਆ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਪੂਤੁ ਜਮਤੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਧ੍ਰਕਟੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jio baesuaa kae ghar pooth jamath hai this naam pariou hai dhhrakattee ||1|| rehaao || |
| Like the son, born into the house of a prostitute, his name is cursed. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪ ਬੇਰਕਟੀ ॥ |
| jin kai hiradhai naahi har suaamee thae bigarr roop baerakattee || |
| Those who do not have the Name of their Lord and Master within their hearts, are the most wretched, deformed lepers. |

| ਜਿਉ ਨਿਗੁਰਾ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਤਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਓਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਹੈ ਭ੍ਰਸਟੀ ॥੧॥ |
| jio niguraa bahu baathaa jaanai ouhu har dharageh hai bhrasattee ||1|| |
| Like the person who has no Guru, they may know many things, but they are cursed in the Court of the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਪਗ ਚਕਟੀ ॥ |
| jin ko dhaeiaal hoaa maeraa suaamee thinaa saadhh janaa pag chakattee || |
| Those, unto whom my Lord Master becomes Merciful, long for the feet of the Holy. |

| As God shows His Mercy, the lotus of my heart blossoms, and forever and ever, I meditate on the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥ |
| anthar eaeko baahar eaeko sabh mehi eaek samaaeeai || |
| The One Lord is within, and the One Lord is outside; the One Lord is contained in all. |

| ਘਟਿ ਅਵਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਿਖਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ |
| ghatt avaghatt raviaa sabh thaaee har pooran breham dhikhaaeeai ||1|| |
| Within the heart, beyond the heart, and in all places, God, the Perfect One, is seen to be permeating. ||1|| |

| ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| ousathath karehi saevak mun kaethae thaeraa anth n kathehoo paaeeai || |
| So many of Your servants and silent sages sing Your Praises, but no one has found Your limits. |

| ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੧॥ |
| sukhadhaathae dhukh bhanjan suaamee jan naanak sadh bal jaaeeai ||2||1|| |
| O Giver of peace, Destroyer of pain, Lord and Master - servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||2||1|| |

| raach rehiou rachanaa prabh apanee kehaa laabh kehaa khoeeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| God pervades His pervading creation; one gains, while another loses. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਹ ਫੂਲਹਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੋਗ ਕਬ ਹਸਨੋ ਕਬ ਰੋਈਐ ॥ |
| keh foolehi aanandh bikhai sog kab hasano kab roeeai || |
| Sometimes he blossoms in bliss, while at other times, he suffers in mourning. Sometimes he laughs, and sometimes he weeps. |

| ਕਬਹੂ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਕਬ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਧੋਈਐ ॥੧॥ |
| kabehoo mail bharae abhimaanee kab saadhhoo sang dhhoeeai ||1|| |
| Sometimes he is filled with the filth of ego, while at other times, he washes it off in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1|| |
|
| ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਲੋਈਐ ॥ |
| koe n maettai prabh kaa keeaa dhoosar naahee aloeeai || |
| No one can erase the actions of God; I cannot see any other like Him. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਈਐ ॥੨॥੨॥ |
| kahu naanak this gur balihaaree jih prasaadh sukh soeeai ||2||2|| |
| Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru; by His Grace, I sleep in peace. ||2||2|| |
