| ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਕੰਉ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਿਖਾ ॥ |
| ho balihaaree thinn kano jo guramukh sikhaa || |
| I am a sacrifice to those Sikhs who are Gurmukhs. |

| ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਿਖਾ ॥ |
| jo har naam dhhiaaeidhae thin dharasan pikhaa || |
| I behold the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of those who meditate on the Lord's Name. |

| ਸੁਣਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਲਿਖਾ ॥ |
| sun keerathan har gun ravaa har jas man likhaa || |
| Listening to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, I contemplate His virtues; I write His Praises on the fabric of my mind. |

| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕ੍ਰਿਖਾ ॥ |
| har naam salaahee rang sio sabh kilavikh kirakhaa || |
| I praise the Lord's Name with love, and eradicate all my sins. |

| ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਸੋ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਧਰੇ ਵਿਖਾ ॥੧੯॥ |
| dhhan dhhann suhaavaa so sareer thhaan hai jithhai maeraa gur dhharae vikhaa ||19|| |
| Blessed, blessed and beauteous is that body and place, where my Guru places His feet. ||19|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ |
| gur bin giaan n hovee naa sukh vasai man aae || |
| Without the Guru, spiritual wisdom is not obtained, and peace does not come to abide in the mind. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣੇ ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਜਾਸਨਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak naam vihoonae manamukhee jaasan janam gavaae ||1|| |
| O Nanak, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the self-willed manmukhs depart, after having wasted their lives. ||1|| |

|
| ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਨਾਵੈ ਨੋ ਸਭਿ ਖੋਜਦੇ ਥਕਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| sidhh saadhhik naavai no sabh khojadhae thhak rehae liv laae || |
| All the Siddhas, spiritual masters and seekers search for the Name; they have grown weary of concentrating and focusing their attention. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
| bin sathigur kinai n paaeiou guramukh milai milaae || |
| Without the True Guru, no one finds the Name; the Gurmukhs unite in Union with the Lord. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪੈਨਣੁ ਖਾਣੁ ਸਭੁ ਬਾਦਿ ਹੈ ਧਿਗੁ ਸਿਧੀ ਧਿਗੁ ਕਰਮਾਤਿ ॥ |
| bin naavai painan khaan sabh baadh hai dhhig sidhhee dhhig karamaath || |
| Without the Name, all food and clothes are worthless; cursed is such spirituality, and cursed are such miraculous powers. |
|
| ਸਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਾ ਕਰਮਾਤਿ ਹੈ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ |
| saa sidhh saa karamaath hai achinth karae jis dhaath || |
| That alone is spirituality, and that alone is miraculous power, which the Carefree Lord spontaneously bestows. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਏਹਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਏਹਾ ਕਰਮਾਤਿ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak guramukh har naam man vasai eaehaa sidhh eaehaa karamaath ||2|| |
| O Nanak, the Lord's Name abides in the mind of the Gurmukh; this is spirituality, and this is miraculous power. ||2|| |

| ham dtaadtee har prabh khasam kae nith gaaveh har gun shhanthaa || |
| I am a minstrel of God, my Lord and Master; every day, I sing the songs of the Lord's Glorious Praises. |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣਹ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਵਲਾ ਕੰਤਾ ॥ |
| har keerathan kareh har jas suneh this kavalaa kanthaa || |
| I sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and I listen to the Praises of the Lord, the Master of wealth and Maya. |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਭਿਖਾਰੀਆ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਜੰਤਾ ॥ |
| har dhaathaa sabh jagath bhikhaareeaa mangath jan janthaa || |
| The Lord is the Great Giver; all the world is begging; all beings and creatures are beggars. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਇ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਮ ਜੰਤਾ ॥ |
| har dhaevahu dhaan dhaeiaal hoe vich paathhar kiram janthaa || |
| O Lord, You are kind and compassionate; You give Your gifts to even worms and insects among the rocks. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ॥੨੦॥ |
| jan naanak naam dhhiaaeiaa guramukh dhhanavanthaa ||20|| |
| Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; as Gurmukh, he has become truly wealthy. ||20|| |

| ਪੜਣਾ ਗੁੜਣਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| parranaa gurranaa sansaar kee kaar hai andhar thrisanaa vikaar || |
| Reading and studying are just worldly pursuits, if there is thirst and corruption within. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਕੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥ |
| houmai vich sabh parr thhakae dhoojai bhaae khuaar || |
| Reading in egotism, all have grown weary; through the love of duality, they are ruined. |
|
| ਸੋ ਪੜਿਆ ਸੋ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਬੀਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| so parriaa so panddith beenaa gur sabadh karae veechaar || |
| He alone is educated, and he alone is a wise Pandit, who contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |
|
| ਅੰਦਰੁ ਖੋਜੈ ਤਤੁ ਲਹੈ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ |
| andhar khojai thath lehai paaeae mokh dhuaar || |
| He searches within himself, and finds the true essence; he finds the Door of Salvation. |
|
| ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| gun nidhhaan har paaeiaa sehaj karae veechaar || |
| He finds the Lord, the treasure of excellence, and peacefully contemplates Him. |
|
| ਧੰਨੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ |
| dhhann vaapaaree naanakaa jis guramukh naam adhhaar ||1|| |
| Blessed is the trader, O Nanak, who, as Gurmukh, takes the Name as his only Support. ||1|| |

| ਵਿਣੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਿਝਈ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕੋ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| vin man maarae koe n sijhee vaekhahu ko liv laae || |
| Without conquering his mind, no one can be successful. See this, and concentrate on it. |

| ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ਤੀਰਥੀ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੇ ਨਾ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| bhaekhadhhaaree theerathhee bhav thhakae naa eaehu man maariaa jaae || |
| The wandering holy men are tired of of making pilgrimages to sacred shrines; they have not been able to conquer their minds. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| guramukh eaehu man jeevath marai sach rehai liv laae || |
| The Gurmukh has conquered his mind, and he remains lovingly absorbed in the True Lord. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਲੁ ਇਉ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak eis man kee mal eio outharai houmai sabadh jalaae ||2|| |
| O Nanak, this is how the filth of the mind is removed; the Word of the Shabad burns away the ego. ||2|| |

| O Saints of the Lord, O my Siblings of Destiny, please meet with me, and implant the Name of the One Lord within me. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਨਾਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਪੜੁ ਪਹਿਰਹੁ ਖਿਮ ਕਾ ॥ |
| har har seegaar banaavahu har jan har kaaparr pehirahu khim kaa || |
| O humble servants of the Lord, adorn me with the decorations of the Lord, Har, Har; let me wear the robes of the Lord's forgiveness. |

| ਐਸਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਮ ਕਾ ॥ |
| aisaa seegaar maerae prabh bhaavai har laagai piaaraa prim kaa || |
| Such decorations are pleasing to my God; such love is dear to the Lord. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਇਕ ਪਲਕਾ ॥ |
| har har naam bolahu dhin raathee sabh kilabikh kaattai eik palakaa || |
| I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, day and night; in an instant, all sins are eradicated. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਉਪਰਿ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਿਣਕਾ ॥੨੧॥ |
| har har dhaeiaal hovai jis oupar so guramukh har jap jinakaa ||21|| |
| That Gurmukh, unto whom the Lord becomes merciful, chants the Lord's Name, and wins the game of life. ||21|| |
