| ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| naavai kee keemath mith kehee n jaae || |
| The value and worth of the Lord's Name cannot be described. |
|
| ਸੇ ਜਨ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| sae jan dhhann jin eik naam liv laae || |
| Blessed are those humble beings, who lovingly focus their minds on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| guramath saachee saachaa veechaar || |
| True are the Guru's Teachings, and True is contemplative meditation. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ |
| aapae bakhasae dhae veechaar ||1|| |
| God Himself forgives, and bestows contemplative meditation. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥ |
| har naam acharaj prabh aap sunaaeae || |
| The Lord's Name is wonderful! God Himself imparts it. |

| ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kalee kaal vich guramukh paaeae ||1|| rehaao || |
| In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Gurmukhs obtain it. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| ham moorakh moorakh man maahi || |
| We are ignorant; ignorance fills our minds. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| houmai vich sabh kaar kamaahi || |
| We do all our deeds in ego. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee hanoumai jaae || |
| By Guru's Grace, egotism is eradicated. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| aapae bakhasae leae milaae ||2|| |
| Forgiving us, the Lord blends us with Himself. ||2|| |

| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| bikhiaa kaa dhhan bahuth abhimaan || |
| Poisonous wealth gives rise to great arrogance. |
|
| ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਡੂਬੈ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| ahankaar ddoobai n paavai maan || |
| Drowning in egotism, no one is honored. |
|
| ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ |
| aap shhodd sadhaa sukh hoee || |
| Forsaking self-conceit, one finds lasting peace. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥ |
| guramath saalaahee sach soee ||3|| |
| Under Guru's Instruction, he praises the True Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| aapae saajae karathaa soe || |
| The Creator Lord Himself fashions all. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| this bin dhoojaa avar n koe || |
| Without Him, there is no other at all. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ |
| jis sach laaeae soee laagai || |
| He alone is attached to Truth, whom the Lord Himself so attaches. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੪॥੮॥ |
| naanak naam sadhaa sukh aagai ||4||8|| |
| O Nanak, through the Naam, lasting peace is attained in the hereafter. ||4||8|| |

| I am just a poor beggar of Yours; You are Your Own Lord Master, You are the Great Giver. |

| ਹੋਹੁ ਦੈਆਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਕੰਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ |
| hohu dhaiaal naam dhaehu mangath jan kano sadhaa reho rang raathaa ||1|| |
| Be Merciful, and bless me, a humble beggar, with Your Name, so that I may forever remain imbued with Your Love. ||1|| |

| ਹੰਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਚੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ॥ |
| hano balihaarai jaao saachae thaerae naam vittahu || |
| I am a sacrifice to Your Name, O True Lord. |

| ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| karan kaaran sabhanaa kaa eaeko avar n dhoojaa koee ||1|| rehaao || |
| The One Lord is the Cause of causes; there is no other at all. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਬਹੁਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਪਏ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਬ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ |
| bahuthae faer peae kirapan ko ab kishh kirapaa keejai || |
| I was wretched; I wandered through so many cycles of reincarnation. Now, Lord, please bless me with Your Grace. |

| ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੀ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੨॥ |
| hohu dhaeiaal dharasan dhaehu apunaa aisee bakhas kareejai ||2|| |
| Be merciful, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please grant me such a gift. ||2|| |

| ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮ ਪਟ ਖੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
| bhanath naanak bharam patt khoolhae gur parasaadhee jaaniaa || |
| Prays Nanak, the shutters of doubt have been opened wide; by Guru's Grace, I have come to know the Lord. |

| saachee liv laagee hai bheethar sathigur sio man maaniaa ||3||1||9|| |
| I am filled to overflowing with true love; my mind is pleased and appeased by the True Guru. ||3||1||9|| |

| jo har saevehi santh bhagath thin kae sabh paap nivaaree || |
| Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away. |

| ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| ham oopar kirapaa kar suaamee rakh sangath thum j piaaree ||1|| |
| Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ |
| har gun kehi n sako banavaaree || |
| I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world. |

| ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ham paapee paathhar neer ddubath kar kirapaa paakhan ham thaaree || rehaao || |
| We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. ||Pause|| |

| ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ |
| janam janam kae laagae bikh morachaa lag sangath saadhh savaaree || |
| The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away. |

| ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
| jio kanchan baisanthar thaaeiou mal kaattee kattith outhaaree ||2|| |
| It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. ||2|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |
| har har japan japo dhin raathee jap har har har our dhhaaree || |
| I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ |
| har har har aoukhadhh jag pooraa jap har har houmai maaree ||3|| |
| The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. ||3|| |
