| Bow in humility to the lotus feet of the Guru. |

| ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਿ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh eis than thae maar || |
| Eliminate sexual desire and anger from this body. |

| ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀਐ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਰੀਨਾ ॥ |
| hoe reheeai sagal kee reenaa || |
| Be the dust of all, |
|
| ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚੀਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| ghatt ghatt rameeaa sabh mehi cheenaa ||1|| |
| and see the Lord in each and every heart, in all. ||1|| |
|
| ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਮਹੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗਬਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| ein bidhh ramahu gopaal guobindh || |
| In this way, dwell upon the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| than dhhan prabh kaa prabh kee jindh ||1|| rehaao || |
| My body and wealth belong to God; my soul belongs to God. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥ |
| aath pehar har kae gun gaao || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |

| ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥ |
| jeea praan ko eihai suaao || |
| This is the purpose of human life. |
|
| ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ |
| thaj abhimaan jaan prabh sang || |
| Renounce your egotistical pride, and know that God is with you. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥ |
| saadhh prasaadh har sio man rang ||2|| |
| By the Grace of the Holy, let your mind be imbued with the Lord's Love. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂੰ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਜਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jin thoon keeaa this ko jaan || |
| Know the One who created you, |
|
| ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| aagai dharageh paavai maan || |
| and in the world hereafter you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. |

| ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥ |
| man than niramal hoe nihaal || |
| Your mind and body will be immaculate and blissful; |

| ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੩॥ |

| chant the Name of the Lord of the Universe with your tongue. ||3|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa maerae dheen dhaeiaalaa || |
| Grant Your Kind Mercy, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek. |

| ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥ |
| saadhhoo kee man mangai ravaalaa || |
| My mind begs for the dust of the feet of the Holy. |
|
| ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ |
| hohu dhaeiaal dhaehu prabh dhaan || |
| Be merciful, and bless me with this gift, |

| My incense and lamps are my service to the Lord. |

| anik baar bandhan karathaar || |
| Time and time again, I humbly bow to the Creator. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥ |
| prabh kee saran gehee sabh thiaag || |
| I have renounced everything, and grasped the Sanctuary of God. |

| ਗੁਰ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧॥ |

| By great good fortune, the Guru has become pleased and satisfied with me. ||1|| |

| The Supreme Lord God is the Perfect Forgiver. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥ |

| Granting His Mercy, He has linked His humble servants to His service. |

| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ |
| janam maran dhukh maett milaaeae ||2|| |
| He has rid me of the pains of birth and death, and merged me with Himself. ||2|| |

| ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਇਹੁ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ |
| karam dhharam eihu thath giaan || |
| This is the essence of karma, righteous conduct and spiritual wisdom, |
|
| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ |
| saadhhasang japeeai har naam || |
| to chant the Lord's Name in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |
|
| ਸਾਗਰ ਤਰਿ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣ ॥ |
| saagar thar bohithh prabh charan || |
| God's Feet are the boat to cross over the world-ocean. |
|
| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ॥੩॥ |
| antharajaamee prabh kaaran karan ||3|| |
| God, the Inner-knower, is the Cause of causes. ||3|| |
|
| ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ |
| raakh leeeae apanee kirapaa dhhaar || |
| Showering His Mercy, He Himself has saved me. |
|
| ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਭਾਗੇ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥ |
| panch dhooth bhaagae bikaraal || |
| The five hideous demons have run away. |
|
| ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ |
| jooai janam n kabehoo haar || |
| Do not lose your life in the gamble. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੪॥ |

| The Divine Guru has saved His child. |

| God is kind and compassionate; He is the Lord of the Universe. |

| I seek Your Sanctuary, O God, O Merciful to the meek. |

| There is no other like the Merciful Lord God. |

| He is contained deep within each and every heart. |

| ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥ |
| apanae dhaas kaa halath palath savaarai || |
| He embellishes His slave, here and hereafter. |
|
| ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ॥੨॥ |
| pathith paavan prabh biradh thumhaarai ||2|| |
| It is Your nature, God, to purify sinners. ||2|| |

| ਅਉਖਧ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥ |
| aoukhadhh kott simar gobindh || |
| Meditation on the Lord of the Universe is the medicine to cure millions of illnesses. |

| ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਭਜੀਐ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ |

| My Tantra and Mantra is to meditate, to vibrate upon the Lord God. |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਮਿਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ |

| Illnesses and pains are dispelled, meditating on God. |
|
| ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ |

| The fruits of the mind's desires are fulfilled. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਦਇਆਰ ॥ |

| He is the Cause of causes, the All-powerful Merciful Lord. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan mehaa beechaar || |
| Contemplating Him is the greatest of all treasures. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ॥ |

| God Himself has forgiven Nanak; |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਏਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੫॥ |
