| ਡਿਗਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ਕਤਹੂ ਨ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ |
| ddig n ddolai kathehoo n dhhaavai || |
| No one falls there, or wavers, or goes anywhere. |

| ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਇਹੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
| gur prasaadh ko eihu mehal paavai || |
| By Guru's Grace, some find this mansion. |
|
| ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲ ॥ |
| bhram bhai moh n maaeiaa jaal || |
| They are not touched by doubt, fear, attachment or the traps of Maya. |
|
| ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੩॥ |
| sunn samaadhh prabhoo kirapaal ||3|| |
| They enter the deepest state of Samaadhi, through the kind mercy of God. ||3|| |
|
| ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥ |
| thaa kaa anth n paaraavaar || |
| He has no end or limitation. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| aapae gupath aapae paasaar || |
| He Himself is unmanifest, and He Himself is manifest. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਦੁ ॥ |
| jaa kai anthar har har suaadh || |
| One who enjoys the taste of the Lord, Har, Har, deep within himself, |
|
| ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥੪॥੯॥੨੦॥ |

| Meeting with the Sangat, the Congregation, the Supreme Lord God has come into my consciousness. |

| ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| sangath karath santhokh man paaeiaa || |
| In the Sangat, my mind has found contentment. |
|
| ਸੰਤਹ ਚਰਨ ਮਾਥਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਉਤ ॥ |
| santheh charan maathhaa maero pouth || |
| I touch my forehead to the feet of the Saints. |
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਸੰਤਹ ਡੰਡਉਤ ॥੧॥ |
| anik baar santheh ddanddouth ||1|| |
| Countless times, I humbly bow to the Saints. ||1|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ |
| eihu man santhan kai balihaaree || |
| This mind is a sacrifice to the Saints; |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jaa kee outt gehee sukh paaeiaa raakhae kirapaa dhhaaree ||1|| rehaao || |
| holding tight to their support, I have found peace, and in their mercy, they have protected me. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸੰਤਹ ਚਰਣ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੀਵਾ ॥ |
| santheh charan dhhoe dhhoe peevaa || |
| I wash the feet of the Saints, and drink in that water. |
|
| ਸੰਤਹ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ॥ |
| santheh dharas paekh paekh jeevaa || |
| Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Saints' Darshan, I live. |
|
| ਸੰਤਹ ਕੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ॥ |

| My mind rests its hopes in the Saints. |
|

| The Saints have covered my faults. |

| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਕੜਦਾ ॥ |
| santh prasaadh mohi kabehoo n karradhaa || |
| By the Grace of the Saints, I am no longer tormented. |
|

| The Merciful Lord has blessed me with the Saints' Congregation. |

| The Compassionate Saints have become my help and support. ||3|| |

| He cherishes all beings and creatures. |

| Your home, power and wealth will be of no use to you. |

| ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ ॥ |
| thaerai kaaj n bikhai janjaal || |
| Your corrupt worldly entanglements will be of no use to you. |
|
| ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਜਾਣੁ ਸਭ ਛਲੈ ॥ |
| eisatt meeth jaan sabh shhalai || |
| Know that all your dear friends are fake. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਚਲੈ ॥੧॥ |
| har har naam sang thaerai chalai ||1|| |
| Only the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, will go along with you. ||1|| |

| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਲੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਹੈ ॥ |
| raam naam gun gaae lae meethaa har simarath thaeree laaj rehai || |
| Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name, O friend; remembering the Lord in meditation, your honor shall be saved. |

| Remembering the Lord in meditation, the Messenger of Death will not touch you. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਰਾਰਥ ਕਾਮ ॥ |
| bin har sagal niraarathh kaam || |
| Without the Lord, all pursuits are useless. |
|
| ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਦਾਮ ॥ |
| sueinaa rupaa maattee dhaam || |
| Gold, silver and wealth are just dust. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਜਾਪਿ ਮਨ ਸੁਖਾ ॥ |
| gur kaa sabadh jaap man sukhaa || |
| Chanting the Word of the Guru's Shabad, your mind shall be at peace. |
|
| ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਤੇਰੋ ਊਜਲ ਮੁਖਾ ॥੨॥ |
| eehaa oohaa thaero oojal mukhaa ||2|| |
| Here and hereafter, your face shall be radiant and bright. ||2|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ॥ |
| kar kar thhaakae vaddae vaddaerae || |
| Even the greatest of the great worked and worked until they were exhausted. |
|
| ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਨ ਕੀਏ ਕਾਜ ਮਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ |
| kin hee n keeeae kaaj maaeiaa poorae || |
| None of them ever accomplished the tasks of Maya. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| har har naam japai jan koe || |
| Any humble being who chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, |
|
| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥ |
| thaa kee aasaa pooran hoe ||3|| |
| will have all his hopes fulfilled. ||3|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ |
| har bhagathan ko naam adhhaar || |
| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the anchor and support of the Lord's devotees. |
|
| ਸੰਤੀ ਜੀਤਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥ |
| santhee jeethaa janam apaar || |
| The Saints are victorious in this priceless human life. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
| har santh karae soee paravaan || |
| Whatever the Lord's Saint does, is approved and accepted. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੨॥ |

| ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਅਵਰਾ ਜੋਗ ॥ |
| thaerai kaaj n avaraa jog || |
| It is of no use to you; it was meant for others. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਅੰਧ ॥ |
| kar ahankaar hoe varathehi andhh || |
| You practice egotism, and act like a blind man. |
|
| ਜਮ ਕੀ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਤੂ ਆਗੈ ਬੰਧ ॥੧॥ |
| jam kee jaevarree thoo aagai bandhh ||1|| |
| In the world hereafter, you shall be tied to the leash of the Messenger of Death. ||1|| |
|
| ਛਾਡਿ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ਤਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥ |
| shhaadd viddaanee thaath moorrae || |
| Give up your envy of others, you fool! |
|
| ਈਹਾ ਬਸਨਾ ਰਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥ |
| eehaa basanaa raath moorrae || |
| You only live here for a night, you fool! |
|
| ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਤੈ ਉਠਿ ਚਲਨਾ ॥ |
| maaeiaa kae maathae thai outh chalanaa || |
| You are intoxicated with Maya, but you must soon arise and depart. |
|
| ਰਾਚਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| You are totally involved in the dream. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਬਾਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਅੰਧ ॥ |

| In his childhood, the child is blind. |
|
| ਭਰਿ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ॥ |
| bhar joban laagaa dhuragandhh || |
| In the fullness of youth, he is involved in foul-smelling sins. |
