| There is a lasting peace and happiness deep within them; at the Court of the True Lord, they receive honor. |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਚ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ |
| anthar saanth man sukh hoe sach sanjam kaar kamaae || |
| Peace and happiness shall fill your mind deep within, if you act according to truth and self-discipline. |

| ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ॥ |

| Hear my prayer, O Lord and Master; Nanak begs for this happiness: |

| He has demolished the abode of sorrow and disease, and brought bliss, joy and happiness. |

| ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ |
| milae suaamee preetham apunae ghar mandhar sukhadhaaee || |
| Meeting with my Beloved Lord and Master, my home has become a mansion filled with happiness. |

| ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਕੀਨੀ ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਸਭ ਭਇਆ ॥੧॥ |
| aapae mael vaddaaee keenee kusal khaem sabh bhaeiaa ||1|| |
| Blending me with Himself, He has blessed me with glorious greatness, and I have found pleasure and happiness. ||1|| |

| Great joy and happiness welled up, when my Husband Lord, of ever-fresh beauty, showed mercy to me. |

| sarab sookh har naam vaddaaee || |
| All happiness and greatness are in the Lord's Name. |

| ਸਚਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਚੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੩॥ |
| sachaa sukh sachee vaddiaaee jis kae sae thin jaathae ||3|| |
| True is their happiness, and true is their greatness. They know the Lord, to whom they belong. ||3|| |

| ਜੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਦੁਖਿ ਭੀ ਤੁਝੈ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥ |
| jae sukh dhaehi th thujhehi araadhhee dhukh bhee thujhai dhhiaaee ||2|| |
| If You will bless me with happiness, then I will worship and adore You. Even in pain, I will meditate on You. ||2|| |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿਥੈ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sabadh sachai sach sohilaa jithhai sachae kaa hoe veechaaro raam || |
| Through the True Word of the Shabad, true happiness prevails, there where the True Lord is contemplated. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਘਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥੧॥ |

| O Nanak, their hearts are forever filled with happiness; the Lord, in His Mercy, enters into their hearts. ||1|| |

| The noose of Death is cut, meditating on the Imperishable Lord, and all happiness and wisdom are obtained. |

| ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕੀਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ |
| sarab kaliaan keeeae guradhaev || |
| The Divine Guru has blessed me with total happiness. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਰਸ ਚਾਖੇ ਬੁਡਿ ਗਈ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੁਖੀ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਜੀਓ ॥ |
| bin ras chaakhae budd gee sagalee sukhee n hovath jeeou || |
| Without the taste of this nectar, all have drowned, and their souls have not found happiness. |

| vaddee aarajaa har gobindh kee sookh mangal kaliaan beechaariaa ||1|| rehaao || |

| With happiness and ecstasy, my God enjoys her; I offer each and every bit of my soul to Him. ||5|| |

| I have heard of my Imperishable Husband Lord, and happiness fills my mind. |

| ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| dhoojai bhaae bilaaval n hovee manamukh thhaae n paae || |
| In the love of duality, the happiness of Bilaaval does not come; the self-willed manmukh finds no place of rest. |

| The Guru blessed me with the Naam; happiness came, and all my desires were fulfilled. |

| By His Hukam, they receive pain, happiness and bliss. |

| Your soul shall blossom forth in happiness, on this comfortable bed. |

| ਖੁਸੀ ਖੁਆਰ ਭਏ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਣ ਫੋਕਟ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ ॥ |
| khusee khuaar bheae ras bhogan fokatt karam vikaar karae || |
| The pleasures enjoyed in happiness bring ruin; acting in corruption is useless indulgence. |

| ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਬੁਰਾ ਰੁਠ ਤੁਠਾ ॥ |
| dhuneeaa khael buraa ruth thuthaa || |
| The drama of the world is bad; it brings sadness and then happiness. |

| ਹਰਖੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਰਾ ॥ |

| Happiness and misery are totally loaded with pain. |

| ਤੂ ਸੁਣਿ ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰੰਮਾ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਹੰਮਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੁ ਤੂ ਭਲਾ ॥ |
| thoo sun kirath karanmaa purab kamaaeiaa || sir sir sukh sehanmaa dhaehi s thoo bhalaa || |
| Listen: according to the karma of their past actions, each and every person experiences happiness or sorrow; whatever You give, Lord, is good. |

| ਤਿਨ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਦੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| sajan suridhaa suhaelaa sehajae so keheeai baddabhaagee ||1|| rehaao || |
| is a good-hearted friend, intuitively embellished with happiness. He is said to be blessed and fortunate. ||1||Pause|| |

| sabh mehi rav rehiaa prabh eaekai paekh paekh naanak bigasaaee ||3||8|| |
| The One God is pervading in all. Gazing upon Him, beholding Him, Nanak blossoms forth in happiness. ||3||8|| |
