| dhhann s thhaan dhhann oue bhavanaa jaa mehi santh basaarae || |
| Blessed is that place, and blessed is that house, in which the Saints dwell. |

| ਛਡਾਇ ਲੀਓ ਮਹਾ ਬਲੀ ਤੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥ |
| shhaddaae leeou mehaa balee thae apanae charan paraath || |
| He has saved me from the awful power of Maya, by attaching me to His feet. |

| ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਨ ਮੰਤਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ |
| eaek naam dheeou man manthaa binas n kathehoo jaath ||1|| |
| He gave my mind the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the One Lord, which shall never perish or leave me. ||1|| |

| har har naam dheeou keerathan ko bhee hamaaree gaath || rehaao || |
| He has blessed me with the Kirtan of the Praises of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and I am emancipated. ||Pause|| |

| ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਤਿ ॥ |
| angeekaar keeou prabh apunai bhagathan kee raakhee paath || |
| My God has made me His own, and saved the honor of His devotee. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੪੧॥ |

| Nanak has grasped the feet of his God, and has found peace, day and night. ||2||10||41|| |

| par haranaa lobh jhooth nindh eiv hee karath gudhaaree || |
| Stealing the property of others, acting in greed, lying and slandering - in these ways, he passes his life. |

| ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਆਸ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੀਠੀ ਇਹ ਟੇਕ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| mrig thrisanaa aas mithhiaa meethee eih ttaek manehi saadhhaaree ||1|| |
| He places his hopes in false mirages, believing them to be sweet; this is the support he installs in his mind. ||1|| |
|
| ਸਾਕਤ ਕੀ ਆਵਰਦਾ ਜਾਇ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾਰੀ ॥ |
| saakath kee aavaradhaa jaae brithhaaree || |
| The faithless cynic passes his life uselessly. |

| ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਗਦ ਕੇ ਭਾਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਟੂਕਿ ਗਵਾਵਤ ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jaisae kaagadh kae bhaar moosaa ttook gavaavath kaam nehee gaavaaree || rehaao || |
| He is like the mouse, gnawing away at the pile of paper, making it useless to the poor wretch. ||Pause|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਹ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟਕਾਰੀ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa paarabreham suaamee eih bandhhan shhuttakaaree || |
| Have mercy on me, O Supreme Lord God, and release me from these bonds. |

| ਬੂਡਤ ਅੰਧ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਢਤ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੪੨॥ |

| The blind are sinking, O Nanak; God saves them, uniting them with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||11||42|| |

| simar simar suaamee prabh apanaa seethal than man shhaathee || |
| Remembering, remembering God, the Lord Master in meditation, my body, mind and heart are cooled and soothed. |

| ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸੂਖ ਧਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੋਰੈ ਜਾਤੀ ॥੧॥ |
| roop rang sookh dhhan jeea kaa paarabreham morai jaathee ||1|| |
| The Supreme Lord God is my beauty, pleasure, peace, wealth, soul and social status. ||1|| |

| My tongue is intoxicated with the Lord, the source of nectar. |

| I am in love, in love with the Lord's lotus feet, the treasure of riches. ||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਭਾਤੀ ॥ |
| jis kaa saa thin hee rakh leeaa pooran prabh kee bhaathee || |
| I am His - He has saved me; this is God's perfect way. |

| dhooth dhusaman sabh thujh thae nivarehi pragatt prathaap thumaaraa || |
| All demons and enemies are eradicated by You, Lord; Your glory is manifest and radiant. |

| ਜੋ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੁਖਾਏ ਓਹੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ |
| jo jo thaerae bhagath dhukhaaeae ouhu thathakaal thum maaraa ||1|| |
| Whoever harms Your devotees, You destroy in an instant. ||1|| |

| ਨਿਰਖਉ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥ |

| I look to You continually, Lord. |

| ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਸਹਾਇ ਹੋਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਉਧਰਹੁ ਮੀਤ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| muraar sehaae hohu dhaas ko kar gehi oudhharahu meeth || rehaao || |
| O Lord, Destroyer of ego, please, be the helper and companion of Your slaves; take my hand, and save me, O my Friend! ||Pause|| |

| ਸੁਣੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਖਸਮਾਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
| sunee baenathee thaakur maerai khasamaanaa kar aap || |
| My Lord and Master has heard my prayer, and given me His protection. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦ ਭਏ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੪੪॥ |
| naanak anadh bheae dhukh bhaagae sadhaa sadhaa har jaap ||2||13||44|| |
| Nanak is in ecstasy, and his pains are gone; he meditates on the Lord, forever and ever. ||2||13||44|| |

| chathur dhisaa keeno bal apanaa sir oopar kar dhhaariou || |
| He has extended His power in all four directions, and placed His hand upon my head. |

| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਟਾਖ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਅਵਲੋਕਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ |
| kirapaa kattaakhy avalokan keeno dhaas kaa dhookh bidhaariou ||1|| |
| Gazing upon me with his Eye of Mercy, He has dispelled the pains of His slave. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥ |
| har jan raakhae gur govindh || |
| The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, has saved the Lord's humble servant. |
|
| ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਸਭਿ ਮੇਟੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਖਸੰਦ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kanth laae avagun sabh maettae dhaeiaal purakh bakhasandh || rehaao || |
| Hugging me close in His embrace, the merciful, forgiving Lord has erased all my sins. ||Pause|| |

| ਜੋ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਤੇ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਦੇਵੈ ॥ |
| jo maagehi thaakur apunae thae soee soee dhaevai || |
| Whatever I ask for from my Lord and Master, he gives that to me. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਸਚੁ ਹੋਵੈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੪੫॥ |
| naanak dhaas mukh thae jo bolai eehaa oohaa sach hovai ||2||14||45|| |
| Whatever the Lord's slave Nanak utters with his mouth, proves to be true, here and hereafter. ||2||14||45|| |
