| There, where greatness, eternal peace and everlasting joy are bestowed, |

| sadhaa saanth sukh man vasai chookai kook pukaar || |
| Eternal peace and joy abide in their minds; they abandon their cries and complaints. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਬਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੨॥ |
| prabh abinaasee basiaa ghatt bheethar har mangal naanak gaavai jeeo ||4||5||12|| |
| The Immortal Lord God has come to dwell within my heart. Nanak sings the songs of joy to the Lord. ||4||5||12|| |

| saej sukhaalee seethal pavanaa sehaj kael rang karanaa jeeo ||3|| |
| cozy beds, cooling breezes, peaceful joy and the experience of pleasure. ||3|| |

| ਸਾਂਤਿ ਭਈ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| saanth bhee bujhee sabh thrisanaa anadh bhaeiaa sabh thaaee jeeo ||1|| |
| Peace has come, and the thirst of all has been quenched; there is joy and ecstasy everywhere. ||1|| |

| ਚੇਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥ |
| chaeth govindh araadhheeai hovai anandh ghanaa || |
| In the month of Chayt, by meditating on the Lord of the Universe, a deep and profound joy arises. |

| ਮਰਣ ਰਹਣ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਏ ॥ |
| maran rehan ras anthar bhaaeae || |
| Remaining alive in this death brings joy deep within. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥ |
| sarab kaliaan vasai man aae ||1|| |
| and all joy shall come to abide in your mind. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਿਵਾਸੇ ॥੧॥ |
| sookh sehaj aanandh nivaasae ||1|| |
| and one comes to abide in peace, celestial joy and bliss. ||1|| |

| ਸੀਤਲਾ ਤੇ ਰਖਿਆ ਬਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ |
| seethalaa thae rakhiaa bihaaree || |
| The Giver of joy has saved him from smallpox. |
|
| ਖੇਮ ਭਇਆ ਕੁਸਲ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥ |
| khaem bhaeiaa kusal ghar aaeae || |
| There is joy all around, and peace has come to my home. |
|
| ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਗਿ ਤਤੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| harakh sog thae rehai atheethaa thin jag thath pashhaanaa ||1|| |
| who remains detached from joy and sorrow, realizes the true essence in the world. ||1|| |

| ਕਬਹੂ ਸੋਗ ਹਰਖ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਸੈ ॥ |
| kabehoo sog harakh rang hasai || |
| Sometimes, they are sad, and sometimes they laugh with joy and delight. |

| ਤਬ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਤ ॥ |
| thab harakh sog kahu kisehi biaapath || |
| then who experienced joy and sorrow? |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਖੇਮ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sarab khaem kaliaan nidhh raam naam jap saar || |
| that the treasure of all joy and comfort is found in sublime meditation on the Lord's Name. |

| ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sabh ras thin kai ridhai hehi jin har vasiaa man maahi || |
| All joy is in the hearts of those, within whose minds the Lord abides. |
|
| ਅਨਤ ਤਰੰਗ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਾ ॥ |
| anath tharang bhagath har rangaa || |
| Loving devotion to the Lord brings endless waves of joy and delight. |
|
| ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ॥੧॥ |
| sookh sehaj aanandh suhaelee ||1|| |
| and she attains celestial peace, joy and comfort. ||1|| |
|
| ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸੋਗੁ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ |

| Sorrow is dispelled, and great joy has ensued. |

| ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਾਪਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Meditating on Him, a great joy wells up within my mind and body. ||1||Pause|| |

| har sohilaa thinh sadh sadhaa jo har gun gaavehi || |
| Those who sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord live in the joy of the Lord, forever and ever. |

| ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵੂਠਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ |
| man saanth sehaj subhaao voothaa anadh mangal gun gaaeiaa || |
| Peace, poise and tranquility fill his mind, and he sings the Lord's Glorious Praises with joy and delight. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਚਾਵ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਭਰੇ ॥ |
| prabh milae suaamee sukheh gaamee chaav mangal ras bharae || |
| Meeting God, the Lord and Master, I have entered the realm of peace; I am filled with joy and delight. |

| ਰੰਗ ਤਮਾਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥੩॥ |
| rang thamaasaa pooran aasaa kabehi n biaapai chinthaa ||3|| |
| May joy and pleasure be yours; may your hopes be fulfilled, and may you never be troubled by worries. ||3|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਇਓ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gur parasaadh bhaeiou man niramal sarab sukhaa sukh paaeiao ||1|| rehaao || |
| has his mind purified, by Guru's Grace, and he obtains the joy of all joys. ||1||Pause|| |

| mittee biaadhh sarab sukh hoeae har gun sadhaa beechaar ||1|| |
| The disease is over, and there is joy all around; we ever contemplate the Glories of God. ||1|| |

| You shall obtain peace, poise, bliss, joy and pleasure, and lay the foundation of eternal life. ||1||Pause|| |

| sukh sehaj sovehi kilabikh khovehi naam ras rang jaageeaa || |
| She sleeps in peaceful ease, her sins are erased, and she wakes to the joy and love of the Naam. |

| ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਗੁਨ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ |
| sukh sehaj anadh binodh sadh hee gun gupaal nith gaaeeai || |
| Peace, tranquility, joy and eternal happiness come from constantly singing the Glorious Praises of the Sustainer of the World. |

| Servant Nanak has obtained the Lord as his Spouse; joining together, the Saints sing the songs of joy and congratulations. ||4||1||5|| |

| Sing the songs of joy to the Lord, serve the Name of the Lord, and become the servant of His servants. |

| ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਉਮਾਹਾ ॥ |
| aapae saevaa laaeidhaa piaaraa aapae bhagath oumaahaa || |
| The Beloved Himself commits some to His service; He Himself blesses them with the joy of devotional worship. |

| ਹੋਹੁ ਰੇਨ ਤੂ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਉ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| hohu raen thoo sagal kee maerae man tho anadh mangal sukh paaeeai ||2|| |
| So be the dust of the feet of all, O my mind, and then you shall find bliss, joy and peace. ||2|| |
|
| ਦੂਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਢਾਹਿਓ ਡੇਰਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥ |
| dhookh sog kaa dtaahiou ddaeraa anadh mangal bisaraamaa || |
| He has demolished the abode of sorrow and disease, and brought bliss, joy and happiness. |

| ਅਨੰਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ |
| anandh binodh mangal gun gaavahu gur naanak bheae dhaeiaalaa || |
| Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord in bliss, joy and ecstasy; Guru Nanak has become kind and compassionate. |

| sajan maiddaa rangulaa rang laaeae man laee || |
| My Friend is so full of joy and love; He colors my mind with the color of His Love, |

| ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਉ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਮੋਰੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਹੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ |
| ras ras gun gaavo thaakur kae morai hiradhai basahu gopaal ||1|| |
| With joy and happiness, I sing the Glorious Praises of my Lord and Master; the Lord of the World abides within my heart. ||1|| |

| ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਰਾਜ ਸੂਖ ਰਸ ਸਦ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮ ॥ |

| All desires, power, pleasure, joy and lasting bliss, are found by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and singing the Kirtan of His Praises. |

| Great joy and happiness welled up, when my Husband Lord, of ever-fresh beauty, showed mercy to me. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਕੁਸਲ ਸਭਿ ਖੇਮਾ ॥੨॥ |
| har har dhhiaae kusal sabh khaemaa ||2|| |
| Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, I have found total joy and bliss. ||2|| |

| ਸਚੁ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਹੁ ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ॥ |
| sach mangal gaavahu thaa prabh bhaavahu sohilarraa jug chaarae || |
| Sing the true songs of joy and God will be pleased. You shall be celebrated throughout the four ages. |

| ਸਖੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਰਸਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਹਮ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| sakhee milahu ras mangal gaavahu ham ghar saajan aaeiaa ||2|| |
| So join with me, my sisters, and sing the songs of joy and delight; my friends have come into my home. ||2|| |

| ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਅ ਸੇਤੀ ਗਹਿ ਰਹਹਿ ॥ |
| jinh dhis aaeiaa hohi raleeaa jeea saethee gehi rehehi || |
| Seeing them brings joy to my heart; I keep them clasped to my soul. |

| ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਚਾਉ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ॥ |
| dhin raath chaanan chaao oupajai sabadh gur kaa man vasai || |
| Day and night, the Divine Light shines forth and joy wells up, when the Word of the Guru's Shabad abides in the mind. |

| ਭਗਤਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| bhagathaa kai ghar kaaraj saachaa har gun sadhaa vakhaanae raam || |
| In the home of the devotees, is the joy of true marriage; they chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever. |

| ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sachee baanee sachae gun gaavehi thith ghar sohilaa hoee raam || |
| In that home, and in that heart, where the True Bani of the Lord's True Praises are sung, the songs of joy resound. |
