| You are afflicted with the diseases of ego and desire, and you are wasting your life away in vain. |

| har karathaa sabh kishh jaanadhaa sir rog hathh dheejai || |
| The Creator Lord knows everything, although they may try to hide their sins and the causes of their diseases. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਦਾਰੂ ਭੀ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| houmai dheeragh rog hai dhaaroo bhee eis maahi || |
| Ego is a chronic disease, but it contains its own cure as well. |

| ਦੁਖੁ ਦਾਰੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਜਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਾਮਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ |

| Suffering is the medicine, and pleasure the disease, because where there is pleasure, there is no desire for God. |

| ਮਿਟੀ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ |
| mittee biaadhh sarab sukh hoeae har gun sadhaa beechaar ||1|| |
| The disease is over, and there is joy all around; we ever contemplate the Glories of God. ||1|| |

| ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਹੁ ਸਘਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਾ ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ॥ |

| Intellectual egotism and great love for Maya are the most serious chronic diseases. |

| Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I am detached from the world; I have forgotten sorrow, separation and disease. ||1|| |

| My fevers, pains and diseases are gone, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru. |

| Suffering, pain, terrible disease and Maya do not afflict them. |

| He has banished the great and terrible disease. |

| mehaa kilabikh kott dhokh rogaa prabh dhrisatt thuhaaree haathae || |
| The greatest sins, and millions of pains and diseases are destroyed by Your Gracious Glance, O God. |

| ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਨ ਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਆਵੈ ॥ |

| Hell and disease do not afflict one who joins the Company of the Lord's humble servants, O Nanak; the Lord attaches him to the hem of His robe. ||2||14|| |

| sabh dhukh bhukh rog geae har saevak kae sabh jan kae bandhhan thorreeai || |
| All the pain, hunger, and disease of the Lord's servant are eradicated; the bonds of the humble beings are torn away. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥ |

| The disease of egotism has been eradicated, suffering has been eliminated, and I have entered the Lord's state of celestial Samaadhi. |

| har prabh kirapaa dhhaaree sukhadhaathae dhukh laathhae paap santhaapaa || |
| The Lord God, the Giver of peace, has granted His Grace, and I am rid of pain, sin and disease. |

| ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਿ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ |

| Speaking as Gurmukh, speaking as Gurmukh, chanting the Naam, all disease is eradicated. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਿ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਅਰੋਗਤ ਭਏ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥ |

| As Gurmukh, chanting the Naam, all disease is eradicated, and the body becomes free of disease. |

| ਏਹਾ ਕਾਇਆ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਰੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| eaehaa kaaeiaa rog bharee bin sabadhai dhukh houmai rog n jaae || |
| This body is filled with disease; without the Word of the Shabad, the pain of the disease of ego does not depart. |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ |

| I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has totally cured me of the fatal disease of egotism. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ |
| houmai vaddaa rog hai bhaae dhoojai karam kamaae || |
| Egotism is such a terrible disease; in the love of duality, they do their deeds. |

| ਹੰਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| hanoumai vaddaa rog hai mar janmai aavai jaae || |
| Egotism is such a terrible disease; he dies, to be reincarnated - he continues coming and going. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਜਗਤੁ ਦੁਖਿ ਰੋਗਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਰੋਵੈ ਧਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
| houmai jagath dhukh rog viaapiaa mar janamai rovai dhhaahee ||1|| |
| The world is afflicted with the painful disease of egotism; dying, only to be reborn, it cries out in pain. ||1|| |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਆਪਿਤ ਓਹੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥੨॥ |
| houmai rog jaa kaa man biaapith ouhu janam marai bilalaathee ||2|| |
| One whose mind is afflicted by the disease of egotism, cries out in birth and death. ||2|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਅਰੋਗਾ ॥ |
| kar eisanaan simar prabh apanaa man than bheae arogaa || |
| After taking your cleansing bath, remember your God in meditation, and your mind and body shall be free of disease. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਅਰੋਗ ਅਨਦਾਈ ॥ |
| har aaraadhhae arog anadhaaee || |
| Worshipping the Lord in adoration, one becomes happy, and free of disease. |
|
| ਦੂਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਢਾਹਿਓ ਡੇਰਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥ |
| dhookh sog kaa dtaahiou ddaeraa anadh mangal bisaraamaa || |
| He has demolished the abode of sorrow and disease, and brought bliss, joy and happiness. |

| ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਉਪਜੀ ਰੋਗਾ ਘਾਣਿ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sukh paaeiaa sehaj dhhun oupajee rogaa ghaan mittaaee || rehaao || |
| I have found peace, and the celestial sound current resounds within me; countless diseases have been eradicated. ||Pause|| |

| ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |

| My sufferings have come to an end, and all diseases have been eradicated. |

| ਤਾਪ ਰੋਗ ਗਏ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ |

| The fever and the disease are gone, through the Word of the Guru's Teachings, and I have obtained the fruits of my mind's desires. ||1|| |

| ਬਖਸਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥ |

| The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, has forgiven me, and all diseases have been cured. |

| ਸਹਸਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਦੁਖ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ |

| The disease of doubt does not depart, and they find only pain and more pain. |

| ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਅਉਖਧ ਖਾਧਿਆ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਤੇ ਦੁਖਾ ਘਾਣਿ ॥ |
| har jap jap aoukhadhh khaadhhiaa sabh rog gavaathae dhukhaa ghaan || |
| I take the medicine of meditation on the Lord's Name, which has cured all diseases and multitudes of sufferings. |

| ਐਸੀ ਬੇਦਨ ਉਪਜਿ ਖਰੀ ਭਈ ਵਾ ਕਾ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ |
| aisee baedhan oupaj kharee bhee vaa kaa aoukhadhh naahee ||2|| |
| Such is the disease that has struck me; there is no medicine to cure it. ||2|| |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਬਿਬਾਕਾ ॥੩॥ |
| houmai rog mittae kirapaa thae jam thae bheae bibaakaa ||3|| |
| By His Grace, I am cured of the disease of egotism, and the Messenger of Death no longer terrifies me. ||3|| |

| ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| pathith puneeth keeeae khin bheethar sagalaa rog bidhaariaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| He purifies sinners in an instant, and cures all diseases. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਨਿ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਰਚਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਆਧਿ ॥ |

| The mind is engrossed in passion, and the disease of corruption. |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਦੁਖ ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਹਿ ਨਹੀ ਨਿਕਟਾਨੀ ॥ |

| Disease, sorrow, pain, old age and death do not even approach the humble servant of the Lord. |

| Sing the sublime Praises of the Lord, and your disease shall be eradicated. |

| ਕਾਢਿ ਕੁਠਾਰੁ ਪਿਤ ਬਾਤ ਹੰਤਾ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kaadt kuthaar pith baath hanthaa aoukhadhh har ko naao ||1|| rehaao || |
| The Name of the Lord is the medicine; it is like an axe, which destroys the diseases caused by anger and egotism. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਏ ॥ |
| jin kai anthar vasiaa maeraa har har thin kae sabh rog gavaaeae || |
| Those beings, within whose inner selves my Lord, Har, Har, dwells - all their diseases are cured. |
