| The seven seas are diseased, along with the rivers; the continents and the nether regions of the underworlds are full of disease. |

| ਰੋਗੀ ਖਟ ਦਰਸਨ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਾ ਹਠੀ ਅਨੇਕਾ ॥ |
| rogee khatt dharasan bhaekhadhhaaree naanaa hathee anaekaa || |
| The six Shaastras are diseased, as are the many who follow the different religious orders. |

| ਮਿਠ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਇ ਸੁ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਰੀਜੈ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |

| Eating sweet treats, the mortal is filled with disease; he finds no peace at all. |

| ਤੀਰਥਿ ਭਰਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛੂਟਸਿ ਪੜਿਆ ਬਾਦੁ ਬਿਬਾਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥ |
| theerathh bharamai rog n shhoottas parriaa baadh bibaadh bhaeiaa || |
| Wandering around at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, the mortal is not cured of his disease. Reading scripture, he gets involved in useless arguments. |

| ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਸੁ ਅਧਿਕ ਵਡੇਰਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੮॥ |
| dhubidhhaa rog s adhhik vaddaeraa maaeiaa kaa muhathaaj bhaeiaa ||8|| |
| The disease of duality is so very deadly; it causes dependence on Maya. ||8|| |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ॥ |
| guramukh saachaa sabadh salaahai man saachaa this rog gaeiaa || |
| One who becomes Gurmukh and praises the True Shabad with the True Lord in his mind is cured of his disease. |

| ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜਰਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ |
| jab lag jaraa rog nehee aaeiaa || |
| As long as the disease of old age has not come to the body, |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| houmai rog gaeiaa sukh paaeiaa har sehaj samaadhh lagaaeeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| I am cured of the disease of egotism, and I have found peace; I have intuitively entered into the state of Samaadhi. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਿ ॥ |

| God Himself has cured the disease. |

| ਪਾਨ ਫੂਲ ਮੀਠੇ ਰਸ ਰੋਗ ॥ |
| paan fool meethae ras rog || |
| But betel leaves, garlands of flowers and sweet tastes lead only to disease. |

| ਕਿਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਚੂਕੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ॥ |

| How can this disease be cured, without my Guru? |
|
| ਰੋਗੁ ਵਡੋ ਕਿਉ ਬਾਂਧਉ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ |

| The disease is so deadly; how can I find the courage? |
|
| ਰੋਗੁ ਬੁਝੈ ਸੋ ਕਾਟੈ ਪੀਰਾ ॥ |

| He knows my disease, and only He can take away the pain. |
|
| ਭੋਗੀ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਗ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥ |
| bhogee ko dhukh rog viaapai || |
| Painful diseases afflict those who are sexually promiscuous. |
|
| ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਨਾ ਦੁਖ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਰੀਰੇ ॥ |
| aae n jaavai naa dhukh paavai naa dhukh dharadh sareerae || |
| The soul-bride does not come and go in reincarnation or suffer in pain; her body is not touched by the pain of disease. |

| ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਭੈ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਜੋ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਰਨ ॥ |
| dhookh rog bhai sagal binaasae jo aavai har santh saran || |
| All pains, diseases and fears are erased, for one who comes to the Sanctuary of the Lord's Saints. |

| When I dwell with You, I am free of disease; if I become separated from You, I turn to dust. ||1|| |

| ਆਧਿ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਸਭ ਨਾਸੀ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤੀਨੈ ਤਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| The doubts of my mind and body are all erased, and I am rid of the three diseases. ||1||Pause|| |

| The sweet and the bitter are both diseases. |
|
| ਤਿਨਿ ਕਉੜੈ ਤਨਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਮਾਇਆ ॥ |

| The bitter disease grows in the body. |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਿ ਹੋਰੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਲਗੈ ਤਨਿ ਧਾਇ ॥ |

| Eating anything other than the Name, disease runs to afflict the body. |

| ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁਆਦ ਰੋਗ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| adhhik suaadh rog adhhikaaee bin gur sehaj n paaeiaa ||2|| |
| The more he tastes, the more he is diseased; without the Guru, there is no peace and poise. ||2|| |

| ਇਕੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਲਗੈ ਤਨਿ ਧਾਇ ॥ |

| Another pain is the disease consuming my body. |

| ਤਾਂ ਤਨਿ ਉਠਿ ਖਲੋਏ ਰੋਗ ॥ |
| thaan than outh khaloeae rog || |
| then, disease rises up in his body. |

| ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਗਇਆ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ |
| dhookh rog sabh gaeiaa gavaae || |
| All pain and disease are eradicated. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥ |
| houmai vaddaa rog hai sir maarae jamakaal || |
| They are stricken with the great disease of egotism; they are hit on the head by the Messenger of Death. |

| ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| thin kaa dharas dhaekh sukh paaeiaa dhukh houmai rog gaeiaa ||2|| |
| Gazing upon them, I am at peace; the pain and disease of egotism are gone. ||2|| |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਵਡਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ |
| houmai rog vaddaa sansaar || |
| The world is suffering from the terrible disease of egotism. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਏਹੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| gur kirapaa thae eaehu rog jaae || |
| By Guru's Grace, this disease is cured. |
|
| ਵੈਦਾ ਵੈਦੁ ਸੁਵੈਦੁ ਤੂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰੋਗੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥ |
| vaidhaa vaidh suvaidh thoo pehilaan rog pashhaan || |
| O physician, you are a competent physician, if you first diagnose the disease. |

| ਜਿਤੁ ਦਾਰੂ ਰੋਗ ਉਠਿਅਹਿ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸੈ ਆਇ ॥ |
| jith dhaaroo rog outhiahi than sukh vasai aae || |
| Administer that medicine, which will cure the disease, and allow peace to come and dwell in the body. |

| ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਵੈਦੁ ਸਦਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| rog gavaaeihi aapanaa th naanak vaidh sadhaae ||2|| |
| Only when you are rid of your own disease, O Nanak, will you be known as a physician. ||2|| |

| ਕਾਟੇ ਰੋਗ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥ |
| kaattae rog bheae man niramal har har aoukhadhh khaaeiou ||2|| |
| The disease has been eradicated, and my mind has become immaculate. I have taken the healing medicine of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2|| |

| ਹਉ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚੁਕੈ ਨ ਭੰਗਾ ॥ |
| ho rog biaapai chukai n bhangaa || |
| They are afflicted with the disease of egotism, and their faults are not covered up. |

| ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ ॥ |
| man anthar houmai rog hai bhram bhoolae manamukh dhurajanaa || |
| The disease of egotism is deep within the mind; the self-willed manmukhs and the evil beings are deluded by doubt. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਰੋਗੁ ਵਞਾਇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਜਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak rog vanjaae mil sathigur saadhhoo sajanaa ||1|| |
| O Nanak, the disease is cured only by meeting with the True Guru, the Holy Friend. ||1|| |

| ਤਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਵੀਜੈ ॥੩॥ |
| than man saanth hoe adhhikaaee rog kaattai sookh saveejai ||3|| |
| My mind and body are calm and tranquil; the disease has been cured, and now I sleep in peace. ||3|| |

| ਜਨਮੰ ਤ ਮਰਣੰ ਹਰਖੰ ਤ ਸੋਗੰ ਭੋਗੰ ਤ ਰੋਗੰ ॥ |
| janaman th maranan harakhan th sogan bhogan th rogan || |
| If there is birth, then there is death. If there is pleasure, then there is pain. If there is enjoyment, then there is disease. |

| ਛਲੰ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੰ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨੰ ਅਪਰਾਧੰ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਮਲੰ ॥ |
| shhalan shhidhran kott bighanan aparaadhhan kilabikh malan || |
| Fraud, false accusations, millions of diseases, sins and the filthy residues of evil mistakes; |

| ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭਯਾਨ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਰਮਣੰ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਟ ਅਸਾਧ ਰੋਗਣਹ ॥ |
| bhram bhayaan oudhiaan ramanan mehaa bikatt asaadhh roganeh || |
| You lead them to wander lost in the terrible wilderness of doubt; you lead them to contract the most horrible, incurable diseases. |

| ਜੇਨ ਕਲਾ ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੰ ਨਹ ਛੇਦੰਤ ਜਠਰ ਰੋਗਣਹ ॥ |
| jaen kalaa maath garabh prathipaalan neh shhaedhanth jathar roganeh || |
| His Power provides nourishment in the womb of the mother, and does not let disease strike. |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੁਪਨਹ ॥੨੪॥ |

| Disease, sorrow and separation afflict him; O Nanak, he never finds peace, even in dreams. ||24|| |

| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਖਿਸਰਿਆ ॥੨੩॥ |
| harihaan dhookh rog sabh paap than thae khisariaa ||23|| |
| O Lord! Pains, diseases and sins all vanish from their bodies. ||23|| |

| ਦੇਹੀ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਪਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੭੮॥ |
| dhaehee rog n lagee palai sabh kishh paae ||78|| |
| Your body shall not suffer from any disease, and you shall obtain everything. ||78|| |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਅਘ ਮੋਹ ਛਿਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਖਗਿ ॥੧॥੧੦॥ |

| Within the minds of the faithless cynics is the disease of egotism; these evil people wander around lost, deluded by doubt. |
