| ਹਰਿ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਪੂਕਾਰ ਢਾਢੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| har andhar sunee pookaar dtaadtee mukh laaeiaa || |
| The Lord has heard my sad cries from within; He has called me, His minstrel, into His Presence. |

| ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਜੀਉ ਕਿਉ ਦੇਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ॥ |
| maerai man bairaag bhaeiaa jeeo kio dhaekhaa prabh dhaathae || |
| My mind has become sad and depressed; how can I see God, the Great Giver? |

| ਹਮਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਬੈਰਾਗ ਬਿਰਕਤੁ ਭਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਮੀਤ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥ |
| hamaraa man bairaag birakath bhaeiou har dharasan meeth kai thaaee || |
| My mind has become sad and distant, longing for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, my Friend. |

| ਪੀੜ ਗਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਹੇਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| peerr gee fir nehee dhuhaelee ||1|| rehaao || |
| her pain is dispelled, and she shall not become sad again. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਉਡੀਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੁਇ ਨੈਨ ਜੁਤੇ ॥ |
| man aas ouddeenee maerae piaarae dhue nain juthae || |
| But my sad mind is still hopeful, O my dear beloved; my eyes are both fixed upon Him. |

| ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਝੁ ਉਡੀਣੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਮਲ ਉਦਾਸੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| ho har baajh ouddeeneeaa maeree jindhurreeeae jio jal bin kamal oudhaasae raam || |
| Without the Lord, I am so sad, O my soul - as sad as the lotus without water. |

| ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਇਕੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਦਸਾਇਆ ॥ |
| ho firo oudhaasee mai eik rathan dhasaaeiaa || |
| I wander around, sad and depressed, seeking the jewel of the One Lord. |

| ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ॥ |
| ouddeenee ouddeenee ouddeenee || |
| I am sad, sad and depressed. |
|
| ਹੰਸੁ ਚਲੈ ਉਠਿ ਡੁਮਣੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਭੂਲੀ ਆਥਿ ॥ |
| hans chalai outh ddumano maaeiaa bhoolee aathh || |
| The soul-swan arises and departs, sad and depressed, leaving its wealth behind. |

| ਊਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਝੂਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ॥ |
| oonee naahee jhoonee naahee naahee kisai vihoonee || |
| I lack nothing, and I am not sad or depressed; I have no deficiency at all. |

| ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਸੋਗੀ ਕੀਤੈ ਰੋਜਿ ॥ |

| He is not won over by feeling sad and depressed forever. |

| maeraa man than bahuth bairaagiaa maerae govindhaa har baajhahu dhhan kumalainee jeeo || |
| My mind and body are sad and depressed, O my Lord of the Universe; without her Husband Lord, the soul-bride is withering away. |

| ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੮॥੧॥ |
