ਸਗਲ ਦੂਖ ਕਾ ਹੋਵਤ ਨਾਸੁ ॥ |

All sorrows shall vanish. |

ਤਬ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਤ ॥ |
thab harakh sog kahu kisehi biaapath || |
then who experienced joy and sorrow? |

ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
dhookh dharadh man thae bho jaae || |
Sorrow, pain and fear shall depart from your mind. |

ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥ |
dhukh bhanjan pooran kirapaal || |
Destroyer of sorrow, perfectly Merciful. |

ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ॥ |
dhookh rog binasae bhai bharam || |
Sorrow, sickness, fear and doubt depart. |

ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਗਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥ |
dhukh binasae sehasaa gaeiou saran gehee har raae || |
My pain is gone, and my sorrows have departed, since I took to the Sanctuary of the Lord, my King. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਲਥੋ ਦੁਖੁ ॥੧॥ |
naanak sachae naam bin kisai n lathho dhukh ||1|| |
O Nanak, without the True Name, no one's sorrows have ever departed. ||1|| |

ਸੋਗੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੪੩॥ |
sog mittai sabh hee sukh paavai ||43|| |
his sorrow departs, and he obtains total peace. ||43|| |

ਬੇਗਮ ਪੁਰਾ ਸਹਰ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥ |

Baygumpura, 'the city without sorrow', is the name of the town. |

ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
anadh bhaeiaa sabh mittae visoorae ||1|| rehaao || |
I am in ecstasy, and all of my sorrows have been dispelled. ||1||Pause|| |

ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ॥ |
bhagath praem param padh paaeiaa saadhhasang dhukh naathae || |
Through loving devotional worship, the supreme status is obtained, and in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, sorrows are dispelled. |

ਕਲਮਲ ਦੋਖ ਸਗਲ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
kalamal dhokh sagal parehariaa ||1|| |
All sins and sorrows are washed away. ||1|| |

ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

All illness, sorrows and sufferings are dispelled, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||Pause|| |

ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸੋਗੁ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ |
mittiaa sog mehaa anandh thheeaa || |
Sorrow is dispelled, and great joy has ensued. |

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨੜਿਆ ਸੇ ਮਰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿ ॥੨॥ |
naam bihoonarriaa sae maranih visoor visoor ||2|| |
Those who lack the Naam, the Name of the Lord, shall die, engulfed in sorrow and pain. ||2|| |
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਰੁੰਨਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
har kee bhagath binaa mar mar runniaa ||2|| |
Without devotion to the Lord, you shall die in sorrow, again and again. ||2|| |

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੧੨੦॥ |
naanak raakhae paarabreham fir dhookh n thheeaa ||4||18||120|| |
O Nanak, the Supreme Lord God preserves him, and no pain or sorrow afflicts him any longer. ||4||18||120|| |

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਬੀਸਰਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਤਜਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
jis simarath dhukh beesarehi piaarae so kio thajanaa jaae ||2|| |
Remembering Him, sorrows are forgotten, O Beloved; how can one forsake Him? ||2|| |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ |
har har naam maerai praan vasaaeae sabh sansaa dhookh gavaaeiaa || |
He has enshrined the Name of the Lord, Har, Har within my breath of lfe, and all my doubts and sorrows have departed. |

ਦੁਖੁ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਧਿ ਵਧਾਈ ॥ |
dhukh khaavehi dhukh sanchehi bhogehi dhukh kee biradhh vadhhaaee || |
In sorrow, they eat, and in sorrow, they gather things and try to enjoy them, but they only increase their stores of sorrow. |

ਰਾਮੋ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਦੁਖ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਾਸ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
raamo raam naam japiaa dhukh kilavikh naas gavaaeiaa raam || |
I chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam, which destroys my sorrows and erases my sins. |

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਰੇਣੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਪਗ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਨਿ ਚੂਕਾ ਸੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
jan naanak raen mangai pag saadhhoo man chookaa sog vijog jeeo || |
Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of the Holy; his mind is rid of sorrow and separation. |

ਕਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣੀਐ ਸਗਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਛਤ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥ |
kar keerath govindh guneeai sagal praashhath dhukh harae || |
Sing the Kirtan, the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and all sins and sorrows shall depart. |

ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਿਟੇ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿਆ ॥ |
eik nimakh jaa kai ridhai vasiaa mittae thisehi visooriaa || |
If He dwells within the heart, for even an instant, sorrows are forgotten. |

ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਦੂਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸਭਿ ਹਰੇ ॥ |
ang sang laagae dhookh bhaagae praan man than sabh harae || |
He is joined to me, in my very fiber; my sorrows have departed, and my body, mind and soul are all rejuvenated. |

ਲਟ ਛਿਟਕਾਏ ਤਿਰੀਆ ਰੋਵੈ ਹੰਸੁ ਇਕੇਲਾ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
latt shhittakaaeae thireeaa rovai hans eikaelaa jaaee ||3|| |
Taking down her hair, his wife cries out in sorrow, and the swan-soul departs all alone. ||3|| |

ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ਤਜੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਪਨ ਤਪੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ |
ravidhaas dhaas oudhaas thaj bhram thapan thap gur giaan || |
O servant Ravi Daas, dispel your sorrow and doubt, and know that Guru-given spiritual wisdom is the penance of penances. |

ਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ॥ |
gur har bin ko n brithhaa dhukh kaattai || |
No one, except the Guru-Lord, can dispel our pain and sorrow. |

ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਆ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ |
dhukh binasae sukh keeaa nivaasaa thrisanaa jalan bujhaaee || |
My sorrows are ended, and I am filled with peace. The fire of desire within me has been quenched. |

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੰਤ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਫਾਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
kal kalaes mittanth simaran kaatt jamadhooth faas ||1|| rehaao || |
Meditating in remembrance, strife and sorrow are ended, and the noose of the Messenger of Death is snapped. ||1||Pause|| |

ਨਾਮ ਰਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਜੋਗ ਬਿਸਰਜਿਤ ਰੋਗ ॥੧॥ |
naam rathae kaeval bairaagee sog bijog bisarajith rog ||1|| |
Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I am detached from the world; I have forgotten sorrow, separation and disease. ||1|| |

ਤਿਥੈ ਸੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਗਿ ਥੀਆ ॥੧੯॥ |
thithhai sog vijog n viaapee asathhir jag thheeaa ||19|| |
There, one does not suffer sorrow or separation; he becomes stable and immortal in the world. ||19|| |

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ |
jis simarath sukh hoe sagalae dhookh jaahi ||2|| |
Remembering Him in meditation, happiness comes, and all sorrows and pains simply vanish. ||2|| |

ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਗਏ ਵਿਸੂਰਿਆ ॥ |
eishh punnee man aas geae visooriaa || |
The hopes and desires of the mind are realized, and sorrows are forgotten. |
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਮਿਟੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਓ ॥ |
kott paraadhh mittae thaeree saevaa dharasan dhookh outhaariou || |
Millions of sins are erased, by serving You; the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan drives away sorrow. |

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥ |
rog sog sabh dhookh binaasae outharae sagal kalaesaa ||1|| rehaao || |
and all illness, sorrow and pain shall be dispelled; all suffering shall come to an end. ||1||Pause|| |

ਮੋਹ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਤਨੁ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਰਮਾਈਐ ॥ |
moh rog sog than baadhhiou bahu jonee bharamaaeeai || |
The body is tied up with emotional attachment, disease and sorrow, and so it is lured into countless reincarnations. |

ਦੁਖ ਹਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਹ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥ |
dhukh haran kirapaa karan mohan kal kalaeseh bhanjanaa || |
O Destroyer of pain, Bestower of Mercy, Fascinating Lord, Destroyer of sorrow and strife, |

ਏਕੋ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਮੂਲੇ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
eaeko chaethehi thaa sukh paavehi fir dhookh n moolae hoe ||1|| rehaao || |
Think of the One Lord, and you shall obtain peace; you shall never suffer in sorrow again. ||1||Pause|| |

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
janam janam kae kilabikh dhukh kaattae aapae mael milaaee || rehaao || |
The sins and sorrows of countless lifetimes are eradicated; the Lord Himself unites them in His Union. ||Pause|| |

ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਥਾਪੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
sog n biaapai aap n thhaapai saadhhasangath budhh paaee || |
Sorrow does not afflict one who does not harbor self-conceit; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I have attained this understanding. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ॥੪॥੫॥ |
naanak ko gur pooraa bhaettiou sagalae dhookh binaasae ||4||5|| |
Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru; all his sorrows have been dispelled. ||4||5|| |

ਦੂਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਢਾਹਿਓ ਡੇਰਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥ |
dhookh sog kaa dtaahiou ddaeraa anadh mangal bisaraamaa || |
He has demolished the abode of sorrow and disease, and brought bliss, joy and happiness. |

ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਾਗਾ ॥ |
oothath baithath har gun gaavai dhookh dharadh bhram bhaagaa || |
Standing up and sitting down, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; his pain, sorrow and doubt are dispelled. |

ਤਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥ |
thaa sagalae dhookh mittaaeiaa ||2||5||69|| |
and all his sorrows depart. ||2||5||69|| |

ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥ |
har simarath sabh dhukh laathhaa || |
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all pains and sorrows vanish. |

ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਆਰਉ ਨਾਹਿ ਮਾਨ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
harakh sog thae rehai niaaro naahi maan apamaanaa ||1|| |
who remains unaffected by joy and sorrow, honor and dishonor;||1|| |

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੁਹ ਫਿਰੇ ਸੇ ਬਧੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥ |
sathigur thae jo muh firae sae badhhae dhukh sehaahi || |
Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru, suffer in sorrow and bondage. |

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੀਤ ॥ |
janam janam kae kilavikh dhukh bhaagae gur giaan anjan naethr dheeth || |
The sins and sorrows of uncounted incarnations run away, when the Guru applies the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to the eyes. |

ਸੋਗ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ |
sog agan mehi man n viaapai aath pehar gun gaavo ||1|| |
May my mind not be afflicted by the fire of sorrow; may I sing Your Glorious Praises, twenty-four hours a day. ||1|| |
