| ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥ |
| rog sog sabh dhookh binaasae outharae sagal kalaesaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| and all illness, sorrow and pain shall be dispelled; all suffering shall come to an end. ||1||Pause|| |

| binavanth naanak bin naam har kae sadhaa firath dhuhaelee ||1|| |
| Prays Nanak, without the Lord's Name, the soul wanders, forever suffering. ||1|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਸਗਲ ਕਲਮਲ ਦੁਖ ਜਲੇ ॥ |
| saadhhasangam har araadhhae sagal kalamal dhukh jalae || |
| Worshipping the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, all my sins and sufferings are burnt away. |
|
| ਅਗੈ ਗਈ ਨ ਮੰਨੀਆ ਮਰਉ ਵਿਸੂਰਿ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥ |
| agai gee n manneeaa maro visoor visoorae || |
| but when I go before Him, I am not accepted, and I die, suffering in anguish. |

| ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਖਰੀਆ ਬਿਲਲਾਦੀਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| dhohaaganee khareeaa bilalaadheeaa thinaa mehal n paae || |
| The abandoned brides cry out in their suffering; they do not attain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥ |
| jis thoo raakhehi this dhookh n thheeaa ||3|| |
| One whom You save is not afflicted by suffering. ||3|| |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥ |
| houmai rog gaeiaa dhukh laathhaa har sehaj samaadhh lagaaee || |
| The disease of egotism has been eradicated, suffering has been eliminated, and I have entered the Lord's state of celestial Samaadhi. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ |
| har har naam jinee aaraadhhiaa thin kae dhukh paap nivaarae || |
| Those who contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are rid of their suffering and sins. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਹਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| prabh dhookh dharadh bhram harathaa raam || |
| God is the Destroyer of pain, suffering and doubt. |
|
| ਭ੍ਰਮ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥ |
| bhram dhookh dharadh nivaar khin mehi rakh laehu dheen dhaiaalaa || |
| Eliminate my doubt, pain and suffering in an instant, and preserve me, O Lord, Merciful to the meek. |

| ਸਾ ਧਨ ਰੰਡ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਬੈਸਈ ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ |
| saa dhhan randd n kabehoo baisee naa kadhae hovai sog || |
| The soul-bride shall never be a widow, and she shall never have to endure suffering. |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥ |
| anthar rang raathee sehajae maathee gaeiaa dhusaman dhookh sabaaeiaa || |
| Deep within, she is imbued with His Love, and intoxicated with delight; her enemies and sufferings are all taken away. |
|
| ਕਿਆ ਦੇਨਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ |
| kiaa dhaen muhu jaaeae avagun pashhuthaaeae dhukho dhukh kamaaeae || |
| What face will they show, when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins; their actions will bring them only pain and suffering. |
|
| ਐਥੈ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਮੁਇਆ ਨਰਕਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥ |
| aithhai dhukho dhukh kamaavanaa mueiaa narak nivaas || |
| In this world, they earn only pain and suffering, and dying, they go to abide in hell. |

| ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖਾ ॥ |
| jinee gur kai bachan aaraadhhiaa thin visar geae sabh dhukhaa || |
| Those who worship the Lord in adoration, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, forget all their pains and suffering. |

| ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਲਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥ |
| dhoojai bhaae bahuth dhukh laagaa jalathaa karae pukaar || |
| In love with duality, he endures terrible suffering, and burning, he cries out in pain. |
|
| ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਵਿਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ |
| manamukh firehi sadhaa dhukh paavehi ddoob mueae vin paanee ||1|| |
| The self-willed manmukhs wander around, suffering in constant pain; they drown and die, even without water. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥ |
| kal kalaes mittae dhukh sagalae kaattee jam kee faasaa || |
| All his struggles, sufferings and pains are dispelled, and the noose of death is cut away from him. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਗਲ ਭੈ ਲਾਥੇ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| prabh kee saran sagal bhai laathhae dhukh binasae sukh paaeiaa || |
| In God's Sanctuary all fears depart suffering disappears, and peace is obtained. |
|
| ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |
| geae kalaes rog sabh naasae prabh apunai kirapaa dhhaaree || |
| My sufferings have come to an end, and all diseases have been eradicated. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਦੁਖ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa prabh simareeai bhaaee dhukh kilabikh kaattanehaar ||1|| rehaao || |
| Forever and ever, meditate in remembrance on God, O Siblings of Destiny. He is the Eradicator of suffering and sins. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਭ ਪਰਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| paarabreham prabh bheae dhaeiaalaa dhukh mittiaa sabh paravaaree ||1|| |
| The Supreme Lord God has become kind and compassionate, and my whole family is now free of pain and suffering. ||1|| |

| ਭਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਗਰੋ ਦੂਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਓ ॥ |
| bhaeiou kirapaal sarab ko thaakur sagaro dhookh mittaaeiou || |
| The Lord and Master of all has become merciful; He has dispelled all my sufferings. |

| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਦੁਖ ਕਲੇਸ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਠੇ ॥ |
| simar simar prabh bheae anandhaa dhukh kalaes sabh naathae || |
| Remembering, remembering God in meditation, bliss ensues, and one is rid of all suffering and pain. |

| ਸੰਤ ਅਸਥਾਨਿ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| santh asathhaan basae sukh sehajae sagalae dhookh mittaaeiaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| In the home of the Saints, celestial peace is pervading; all pain and suffering is dispelled. ||1||Pause|| |

| dhukh harathaa eih bidhh ko suaamee thai kaahae bisaraaeiaa ||1|| |
| The Lord and Master removes suffering in this way - why have you forgotten Him? ||1|| |

| ਹੁਕਮੇ ਭਵੈ ਭਵਾਈਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅਵਗਣਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਰੋਇ ॥ |
| hukamae bhavai bhavaaeeai piaarae avagan muthee roe || |
| By His Command, one wanders in reincarnation, O Beloved; deceived by sins and demerits, he cries out in his suffering. |
|
| ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੁਖਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ |
| aavehi jaavehi thour n paavehi dhukh mehi dhukh samaaee || |
| They come and go, and find no place of rest; in pain and suffering, they perish. |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਜਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਕਾ ਹੰਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| naam dhaan dhaee jan apanae dhookh dharadh kaa hanthaa || rehaao || |
| He blesses His servant with the gift of the Naam; He is the Destroyer of pain and suffering. ||Pause|| |

| ਦੇਵਰ ਜੇਠ ਮੁਏ ਦੁਖਿ ਸਸੂ ਕਾ ਡਰੁ ਕਿਸੁ ॥ |
| dhaevar jaeth mueae dhukh sasoo kaa ddar kis || |
| Her husband's younger and elder brothers, the corrupt desires, have died, suffering in pain; and now, who fears Maya, the mother-in-law? |
|
| ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਬਹੁ ਅਤਿ ਘਣਾ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਨ ਸਾਥਿ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਸਿ ॥ |
| dhukh laagaa bahu ath ghanaa puth kalath n saathh koee jaas || |
| They suffer the most horrible pain and suffering, and neither their sons nor their wives go along with them. |

| ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਖੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥ |
| this no sukh supanai nehee dhukhae dhukh vihaae || |
| He does not find peace, even in dreams; he passes his life in misery and suffering. |

| ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਅਉਖਧ ਖਾਧਿਆ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਤੇ ਦੁਖਾ ਘਾਣਿ ॥ |
| har jap jap aoukhadhh khaadhhiaa sabh rog gavaathae dhukhaa ghaan || |
| I take the medicine of meditation on the Lord's Name, which has cured all diseases and multitudes of sufferings. |

| ਜਾ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਸੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਜਹੂ ਸਹੀਐ ॥੪॥੨॥ |
| jaa kaaran ham thum aaraadhhae so dhukh ajehoo seheeai ||4||2|| |
| That which brought me to worship and adore You - I am still suffering that pain. ||4||2|| |

| ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੇ ॥ |
| bhav khanddan dhukh bhanjan svaamee bhagath vashhal nirankaarae || |
| O Destroyer of fear, Remover of suffering, Lord and Master, Lover of Your devotees, Formless Lord. |

| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kal kalaes lobh moh mehaa bhoujal thaarae || rehaao || |
| He shall save you from strife, suffering, greed, attachment, and the most terrifying world-ocean. ||Pause|| |

| ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜਮਿ ਜੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| dhoojai bhaae dhukh hoe manamukh jam johiaa jeeo || |
| In the love of duality, there is pain and suffering; the Messenger of Death eyes the self-willed manmukhs. |

| ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਜਮਿ ਜੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥ |
| dhoojai bhaae dhukh hoe manamukh jam johiaa jeeo ||4|| |
| In the love of duality, there is pain and suffering; the Messenger of Death eyes the self-willed manmukhs. ||4|| |

| ਖੰਡਣੰ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਦੂਰਣਹ ॥੧॥ |
| khanddanan kal kalaeseh prabh simar naanak neh dhooraneh ||1|| |
| He destroys pain and suffering; remember God in meditation, O Nanak - He is not far away. ||1|| |

| ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਬਸੀਠਾ ॥ |
| agiaan bharam dhukh kattiaa gur bheae baseethaa || |
| Ignorance, doubt and suffering are dispelled, when the Guru becomes one's advocate. |

| ਜਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਦੁਖ ਕੀ ਰਾਸੀ ॥ |
| jath dhaekho thath dhukh kee raasee || |
| Wherever I look, I see loads of pain and suffering. |
|
| ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥ |
| jis kae sae fir thin hee samhaalae binasae sog santhaap || |
| The One who owns me, has again taken care of me; my sorrow and suffering is past. |

| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥ |
| janam maran kaattae gur bachanee bahurr n sankatt dhuaaraa || |
| Birth and death are ended for me, by the Word of the Guru's Teachings; I shall no longer pass through the door of pain and suffering. |
|
| ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਭਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| jo thudhh saevehi thin bho dhukh naahi || |
| Those who serve You, are not touched by fear or suffering. |
|
| ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| dhookh dharadh eis than thae jaae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Pain and suffering shall leave this body. ||1||Pause|| |

| dhookh rog sog sabh binasae gur poorae mil paap thajaaein ||1|| rehaao || |
| All pain, disease and suffering is dispelled, meeting the Perfect Guru; sin has been eradicated. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਕੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਕਲੇਸਾ ॥ |
| kalee kaal kae mittae kalaesaa || |
| The pains and sufferings of the Dark Age of Kali Yuga are eradicated, |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ॥ |
| bin boojhae sabh dhukh dhukh kamaavanaa || |
| Without understanding, everything is suffering, earning only more suffering. |
