| Your Word is Incomparable and Infinite. I contemplate the Word of Your Bani, the Support of the Saints. |

| ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| vaddabhaagee gur paaeiaa gur sabadhee paar laghaae ||1|| rehaao || |
| By great good fortune, the Guru is found; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we are carried across to the other side. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਰਤਨੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| rathan amolak paaeiaa gur kaa sabadh beechaar || |
| The priceless jewel is obtained, by contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਕਰਮੀ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak sabadhee sach hai karamee palai paae ||2|| |
| O Nanak, the Word of His Shabad is True. By His Grace, it is obtained. ||2|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੭॥ |
| har thudhhahu baahar kishh nehee gur sabadhee vaekh nihaal ||7|| |
| O Lord, nothing is beyond You. I am delighted to behold You, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||7|| |

| ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥ |
| sachai sabadh saalaahanaa sukhae sukh nivaas || |
| Sing the Praises of the True Lord through the Word of His Shabad, and you shall abide in the peace of peace. |

| ਆਪੈ ਨੋ ਆਪੁ ਖਾਇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| aapai no aap khaae man niramal hovai gur sabadhee veechaar || |
| Their identity consumes their identical identity, and their minds become pure by contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਇ ॥ |
| gur sabadhee har paaeeai har paar laghaae || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is found. The Lord carries us across. |

| ਮਨੁ ਜੋ ਇਛੇ ਸੋ ਲਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ |
| man jo eishhae so lehai sachai sabadh subhaae || |
| All obtain the desires of their minds, through the Love of the True Word of the Shabad. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਕੀਤੋ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sathigur jinee n saeviou sabadh n keetho veechaar || |
| Those who do not serve the True Guru, and who do not contemplate the Word of the Shabad |

| ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਨ ਸਚੀ ਸਦਾ ਲਿਵ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| sach rathae gur sabadh sio thin sachee sadhaa liv hoe || |
| Those who are truly attuned to the Word of the Guru's Shabad-their love is forever True. |

| ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਕੰਤ ਕਉ ਸਬਦੇ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ |
| man than soupae kanth ko sabadhae dhharae piaar || |
| She must dedicate her mind and body to her Husband Lord, and enshrine love for the Word of the Shabad. |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ |
| sabadh rathee sohaaganee sathigur kai bhaae piaar || |
| The happy soul-bride is attuned to the Word of the Shabad; she is in love with the True Guru. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰੇ ॥ |
| houmai maar milaaeian gur kai sabadh tharae || |
| They conquer their egotism and merge with the Lord; they are saved through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਰਮਈਆ ਜਪਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਅਨਤ ਜੀਵਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਣਾ ॥੨॥ |
| rameeaa japahu praanee anath jeevan baanee ein bidhh bhav saagar tharanaa ||2|| |
| Meditate on the Lord, O mortal being, through the Word of His Bani; you shall be blessed with eternal life. In this way, shall you cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2|| |

| avagath baan shhodd mrith manddal tho paashhai pashhuthaanaa ||4|| |
| You have forsaken the Bani, the Word of the Immortal Lord, in this mortal world; in the end, you shall regret and repent. ||4|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਚਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| har kae santh milahu man dhaevaa jo gurabaanee mukh choudhaa jeeo ||2|| |
| I dedicate my mind to those Saints of the Lord, who chant the Word of the Guru's Bani with their mouths. ||2|| |

| I rejoice in the eternal bliss of the Word of the Shabad. |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |

| The Word of Your Bani is inside and outside as well. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਮਰਾ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਚੁ ਦੀਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੨੧॥ |
| har hamaraa ham har kae dhaasae naanak sabadh guroo sach dheenaa jeeo ||4||14||21|| |
| The Lord is mine, and I am the slave of the Lord. O Nanak, the Guru has blessed me with the True Word of the Shabad. ||4||14||21|| |

| The Word of Your Bani, Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar. |

| ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਣੋ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| dhhiaae dhhiaae jeevehi jan thaerae sach sabadh man maano jeeo ||2|| |
| Your humble servants live by meditating, meditating on You. Their minds treasure the True Word of the Shabad. ||2|| |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗਾਏ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਬਾਏ ॥ |

| By His Command, all are attuned to the Word of the Shabad, |

| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ |
| ho vaaree jeeo vaaree sabadh suhaavaniaa || |
| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who are adorned with the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੈ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh naam neesaanai || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are glorified with the Naam. |
|
| ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| saevaa surath sabadh chith laaeae || |
| Center your awareness on seva-selfless service-and focus your consciousness on the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥ |
| houmai maar gur sabadh pashhaathaa || |
| if she subdues her ego, and recognizes the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ |
| poorae gur kai sabadh milaaeae || |
| Through the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru, He is met. |
|
| ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਆ ਜਾਪੈ ॥ |
| sabadh marai s muaa jaapai || |
| One who dies in the Word of the Shabad is truly dead. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਰਖਿ ਪਰਖਾਇਆ ॥ |

| They are assayed and valued through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ |
| ho vaaree jeeo vaaree gur kee baanee mann vasaavaniaa || |
| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who enshrine the Word of the Guru's Bani within their minds. |
|
| ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥ |
| sabhanaa jeeaa kaa eaeko dhaathaa sabadhae maar jeevaavaniaa ||5|| |
| He alone is the Giver of all beings. The Lord kills with the Word of His Shabad, and then revives. ||5|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| gur kai sabadh maeraa har prabh dhhiaaeeai sehajae sach samaavaniaa ||1|| |
| Meditating on my Lord God, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I am intuitively absorbed in the Truth. ||1|| |

| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ |

| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who implant the Word of the Guru's Shabad in their minds. |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| anthar paragaas mehaa ras peevai dhar sachai sabadh vajaavaniaa ||1|| |
| The Divine Light dawns within, and the supreme essence is found. In the True Court, the Word of the Shabad vibrates. ||1|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਿਖਾ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| gur kai sabadh thikhaa nivaaree sehajae sookh samaavaniaa ||3|| |
| My thirst is quenched by the Word of the Guru's Shabad; I am absorbed in intuitive peace and poise. ||3|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਏ ॥ |

| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we are dyed in the color of the Lord's Love. |

| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ |
| anadhin baanee sabadh sunaaeae sach raathae rang rangaavaniaa ||4|| |
| So, night and day, listen to the Word of the Guru's Bani, and the Shabad. Let yourself be colored by this love. ||4|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥ |

| through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are intuitively absorbed in celestial peace. |

| I serve the True Guru; the Word of His Shabad is beautiful. |

| ਅਨਹਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ |
| anehath baanee niramal sabadh vajaaeae gur sabadhee sach samaavaniaa ||4|| |
| The Unstruck Melody of the Bani resounds through the Pure Word of the Shabad; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we are absorbed into the True One. ||4|| |

| ਦੂਜਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥ |
| dhoojaa bharam gur sabadh jalaaeae || |
| Doubt and duality are burned away by the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਹਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੇਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Truth, contentment and intuitive peace and poise are obtained from the Bani, the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||3|| |

| ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ॥ |

| Immaculate is the speech of those who chant the Word of the Shabad. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਖੋਵੈ ॥ |

| The Word of the Shabad eradicates egotism and possessiveness. |

| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, recognize the Lord deep within your own being. |
