| ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ |
| saevak bhaae sae jan milae gur sabadh savaarae || |
| Those humble beings who serve the Lord with love meet Him; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਤੂ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਖਾਰੇ ॥੧੪॥ |
| thoo sachaa saahib alakh hai gur sabadh lakhaarae ||14|| |
| O my True Lord and Master, You are unknowable; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, You are known. ||14|| |

| ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਰਾਵੇਇ ॥ |
| sachaa sabadh bhathaar hai sadhaa sadhaa raavaee || |
| The True Word of the Shabad is our spouse; ravish and enjoy it, forever and ever. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਾਏ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੩॥ |
| naanak aapae mael leae jis no sabadh laaeae piaar ||3|| |
| O Nanak, the Lord absorbs into Himself those whom He inspires to love the Word of His Shabad. ||3|| |

| ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਸਿਖ ਆਵਦੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਘਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ |
| vanajaarae sikh aavadhae sabadh laghaavanehaar || |
| The Sikhs, the traders come, and through the Word of His Shabad, they are carried across. |

| ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਸੁਣਈ ਬਹੁ ਰੋਲ ਘਚੋਲਾ ॥ |
| sabadh n sunee bahu rol ghacholaa || |
| He does not listen to the Word of the Shabad; he makes a great uproar and tumult. |
|
| ਝਗੜਾ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਦਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| jhagarraa karadhiaa anadhin gudharai sabadh n karehi veechaar || |
| They pass their nights and days in conflict and struggle; they do not contemplate the Word of the Shabad. |

| ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੋਤੈ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਪਇਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ |
| jin ko pothai punn paeiaa thinaa gur sabadhee sukh hoe ||2|| |
| Those who have the treasure of virtuous deeds find peace through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2|| |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak sabadh apaar thin sabh kishh saariaa ||1|| |
| O Nanak, the Word of the Shabad is infinite; it has arranged everything perfectly. ||1|| |

| ਸਿਖਹੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਿਆਰਿਹੋ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ॥ |
| sikhahu sabadh piaariho janam maran kee ttaek || |
| O Sikhs, love the Word of the Shabad; in life and death, it is our only support. |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਅਤੀਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ |
| sabadh atheeth anaahadh raathaa || |
| It is absorbed into the untouched, unstruck melody of the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਸੋ ਮਰਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| so maranaa gur sabadh pragaasiaa ||1|| |
| - the nature of that death has been revealed to me, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1|| |
|
| ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ |
| thaa sohaagan jaaneeai gur sabadh beechaarae ||3|| |
| Then she is known as the happy soul-bride, if she contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3|| |

| ਉਨਮਤ ਮਾਨ ਹਿਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੨॥ |
| ounamath maan hiriou man maahee gur kaa sabadh n dhhaariou rae ||2|| |
| Intoxicated with pride, you cheat yourself; you have not enshrined the Word of the Guru's Shabad within your mind. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਕਿਆ ਨ ਅਖਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਨਿ ॥ |
| sakiaa n akhar eaek pashhaan || |
| But people cannot recognize the One Word of God. |
|
| ਸਤ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਕਹੈ ॥ |
| sath kaa sabadh kabeeraa kehai || |
| Kabeer speaks the Shabad, the Word of Truth. |

| ਅਨਭਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਤੁ ਨਿਜੁ ਸਾਰ ॥੧॥ |
| anabho sabadh thath nij saar ||1|| |
| You shall come to know the Shabad, the Word of the Fearless Lord, and the essence of your own inner being. ||1|| |

| this roop n raekh anaahadh vaajai sabadh niranjan keeaa ||1|| |
| The Name has no form or outline; it vibrates with the unstruck Sound Current; through the Word of the Shabad, the Immaculate Lord is revealed. ||1|| |

| ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਹੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| thihu lokaa mehi sabadh raviaa hai aap gaeiaa man maaniaa ||2|| |
| The Word of His Shabad is pervading the three worlds; when my ego was quieted, my mind became happy. ||2|| |

| ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
| saachai sabadh mukath gath paaeae || |
| Through the True Word of the Shabad, the state of liberation is obtained. |

| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ |
| har sio raathee sabadh veechaaree || |
| She is imbued with the Lord, and she reflects upon the Word of His Shabad. |

| ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਵਤ ਅਤਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eihu sansaar bikh vath ath bhoujal gur sabadhee har paar langhaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
| This world is a terrifying ocean of poison; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord helps us cross over. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਅਖਰ ਬਿਰਖ ਬਾਗ ਭੁਇ ਚੋਖੀ ਸਿੰਚਿਤ ਭਾਉ ਕਰੇਹੀ ॥ |
| akhar birakh baag bhue chokhee sinchith bhaao karaehee || |
| The Word is the tree; the garden of the heart is the farm; tend it, and irrigate it with the Lord's Love. |

| ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| saach naam gur sabadh veechaar || guramukh saachae saachai dharabaar ||1|| rehaao || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Gurmukh reflects upon the True Name; in the True Court, he is found to be true. ||1||Pause|| |

| The Word of the Guru's Shabad is my true password. |

| gur kaa sabadh manai mehi mundhraa khinthhaa khimaa hadtaavo || |
| Let the Word of the Guru's Shabad be the ear-rings in your mind, and wear the patched coat of tolerance. |

| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, true detachment is obtained. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh sukh saanth sareer || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the body finds peace and tranquility. |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਮੁਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ |
| sabadh muaa vichahu aap gavaae || |
| One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, eradicates his self-conceit from within. |

| ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਏ ਭਾਗਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
| sachee baanee paaeae bhaag koe ||1|| |
| The True Bani of the Word is obtained only by good destiny. ||1|| |

| man niramal saachai sabadh samaahi || |
| The pure mind is absorbed into the True Word of the Shabad. |

| ਹਰਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har aparanpar agam agochar gur kai sabadh milai jan koe ||1|| rehaao || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one may merge with the Infinite, Unapproachable and Incomprehensible Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥ |
| guramukh sabadh vakhaanai koe ||2|| |
| The Gurmukh chants the Word of the Shabad. ||2|| |

| ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਜਨ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ |
| sabadh tharae jan sehaj subhaae || |
| Through the Word of the Shabad, His humble servants easily swim across. |

| ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ |
| ath niramal gur sabadh veechaar || |
| He contemplates the utterly Immaculate Word of the Guru's Shabad. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ |
| bin sabadhai birathhaa janam gavaaeiaa || |
| Without the Word of the Shabad, one's life is wasted away in vain. |

| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| anadhin raam naam jap hiradhai gur sabadhee har eaeko jaan ||1|| rehaao || |
| Night and day, they meditate within their hearts on the Lord's Name; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they know the One Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਜਾਏ ॥ |

| Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, the Naam resounds; |

| O Nanak, through the Word of the Shabad, one finds the Mansion of the Lord's Presence within the home of the heart. |

| He alone dies a real death, who dies in the Word of the Shabad. |

| sog harakh dhue sam kar jaanai gur parasaadhee sabadh oudhharai ||1|| rehaao || |
| He looks upon pleasure and pain alike; by Guru's Grace, he is saved through the Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause|| |

| She makes the Word of the Guru's Shabad her decoration. |

| Through the Word of the Shabad, one becomes the highest of the high. |

| ਮੋਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥ |
| mohu gumaan gur sabadh jalaaeae || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, attachment and pride are burnt away. |

| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥ |
| anthar mehal gur sabadh pashhaanai || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one realizes the Lord's Presence within. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥ |

| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, devotional love for the Lord is implanted. |
