ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ |
kar kirapaa maelae prabh apunai vishhurr kathehi n jaaee || |
Granting His Grace, God has united me with Himself; no longer do I suffer the pains of separation, and I shall not have to go anywhere. |

ਹਰਿ ਧੂੜੀ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਈਐ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥ |
har dhhoorree nhaaeeai mail gavaaeeai janam maran dhukh laathhae || |
Bathing in the Lord's dust, my filth has been washed away, and the pains of birth and death have departed. |

ਹਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟੇ ਡੀਠਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ+ ਵੂਠਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ॥ |
har ghatt ghattae ddeethaa anmrithuo voothaa janam maran dhukh naathae || |
I behold the Lord in each and every heart, and the Ambrosial Nectar rains down upon me; the pains of birth and death are gone. |

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੋ ਸੰਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਨੋ ਜਪਿ ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਦੁਖ ਡਾਰਾ ॥ |
prabh purakh jagajeevano santh ras peevano jap bharam moh dhukh ddaaraa || |
The Primal Lord God is the Life of the Universe; His Saints drink in the Lord's sublime essence. Meditating on Him, doubts, attachments and pains are shaken off. |

ਜਹ ਦੂਖੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਭਣੀਐ ਤਹ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਡਰਪੀਐ ॥ |
jeh dhookh suneeai jam panthh bhaneeai theh saadhhasang n ddarapeeai || |
Where painful cries are heard, and the Way of Death is shown, there, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall not be afraid. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
naanak jis simarath sabh sukh hovehi dhookh dharadh bhram jaae ||1|| |
O Nanak, remembering Him in meditation, you shall obtain total peace, and your pains and troubles and doubts shall depart. ||1|| |

ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਦ ਸੁਖੀ ॥ |
dhookh dharadh n bho biaapai naam simarath sadh sukhee || |
Pain, trouble and fear will not afflict you; meditating on the Naam, a lasting peace is found. |

ਭਰਮੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੰਕਟ ਮਹਾ ਜੋਨ ॥ |
bharamae janam anaek sankatt mehaa jon || |
I have wandered through countless incarnations, suffering terrible pain in these lives. |

ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਦਾਰਿਦ੍ਰ ਨਾਠੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਮਗੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥ |
dhookh bhookh dhaaridhr naathae pragatt mag dhikhaaeiaa || |
Pain, hunger and poverty run away, and the path is clearly revealed. |

ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਕਲਮਲਾ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਰੇ ॥ |
thaj maan mohu bikaar man kaa kalamalaa dhukh jaarae || |
They renounce their pride, emotional attachment and mental corruption, and burn away the pain of wickedness. |

ਸੂਖਹੁ ਦੂਖ ਭਏ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਇਣੁ ॥ |
sookhahu dhookh bheae nith paap kamaaein || |
so does the constant commission of sins turn pleasure into pain. |
 |
ਬਿਰਹਾ ਲਜਾਇਆ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਮਿਉ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਿੰਚੰਤੀ ॥ |
birehaa lajaaeiaa dharas paaeiaa amio dhrisatt sinchanthee || |
The pain of separation has grown shy, for I have obtained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; His Ambrosial Glance of Grace has filled me with bliss. |

ਤਾਪਾ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਦੂਖ ਨਾਸਨ ਮਿਲੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅਤਿ ਘਨਾ ॥ |
thaapaa binaasan dhookh naasan mil praem man than ath ghanaa || |
O Destroyer of fever, Remover of pain, please unite me with You. My mind and body have such great love for You. |

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਦੀਰਨ ਸਗਲ ਇਛ ਪੁਜੰਤੀਆ ॥ |
prabh maan pooran dhukh bidheeran sagal eishh pujantheeaa || |
God bestows perfect honor and destroys pain; He has fulfilled all my desires. |

ਥਾਉ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਪਉਦੀਈ ਹੁਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਰੂਆਇਆ ॥ |
thhaao n hovee poudheeee hun suneeai kiaa rooaaeiaa || |
He is whipped, but finds no place of rest, and no one hears his cries of pain. |

ਬਹੁ ਭੇਖ ਕੀਆ ਦੇਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੀਆ ॥ |
bahu bhaekh keeaa dhaehee dhukh dheeaa || |
The more one wears religious robes, the more pain he causes his body. |
 |
ਬਹੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ |
bahu dhukh paaeiaa dhoojaa bhaaeiaa || |
One obtains great pain, in the love of duality. |
 |
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਫੇੜ ਕਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਜੀਅ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
janam maran dhukh faerr karam sukh jeea janam thae shhoottai ||1|| rehaao || |
The pains of birth and death come from past actions and karma; peace comes when the soul finds release from reincarnation. ||1||Pause|| |

ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਨਨਦ ਗਹੇਲੀ ਦੇਵਰ ਕੈ ਬਿਰਹਿ ਜਰਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
sakhee sehaelee nanadh gehaelee dhaevar kai birehi jaro rae ||1|| |
O my mates and companions, my husband's sister, misunderstanding has seized me, and I am burning with the pain of separation from my husband's younger brother, divine knowledge. ||1|| |

ਤਉ ਜਗ ਜਨਮ ਸੰਕਟ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
tho jag janam sankatt nehee aaeiaa ||2|| |
He shall not have to suffer the pains of reincarnation into the world again. ||2|| |

ਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ॥ |
gur har bin ko n brithhaa dhukh kaattai || |
No one, except the Guru-Lord, can dispel our pain and sorrow. |

ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
mohi saran dheen dhukh bhanjan thoon dhaehi soee prabh paaeeai || |
I seek Your Sanctuary, O Destroyer of the pains of the poor; whatever You give me, God, that is what I receive. |

ਬਿਸਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਗਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ |
bisarath prabh kaethae dhukh ganeeahi mehaa mohanee khaaeiou ||1|| |
Forgetting God, you suffer awful pain beyond measure, and you are consumed by the Great Enticer, Maya. ||1|| |

ਦੁਖ ਅਨੇਰਾ ਭੈ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਗਏ ਨਿਖੂਟਿ ॥੧॥ |
dhukh anaeraa bhai binaasae paap geae nikhoott ||1|| |
Pain, ignorance and fear have left me, and my sins have been dispelled. ||1|| |

ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਣ ॥ |
dheen dharadh nivaar thaaran dhaeiaal kirapaa karan || |
You are the Remover of the pains of the poor, the Savior, the Compassionate Lord, the Bestower of Mercy. |

ਤੂੰ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਇ ॥ |
thoon samarathh saran ko dhaathaa dhukh bhanjan sukh raae || |
You are the Almighty Lord, the Giver of Sanctuary, the Destroyer of pain, the King of happiness. |

ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਮੋਹ ਹੇਤ ਬਿਆਪਿਤੰ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਧਿਕ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੰ ॥ |
eihu jag moh haeth biaapithan dhukh adhhik janam maranan || |
This world is engrossed in attachment and transitory love; it suffers the terrible pains of birth and death. |

ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਮਾਰ ॥ |
andhar sehasaa dhukh hai aapai sir dhhandhhai maar || |
Within the self is the pain of doubt; engrossed in worldly affairs, they are killing themselves. |

ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਤਿਆਗਦੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ |
dhhrig thinhaa dhaa jeeviaa jo har sukh parehar thiaagadhae dhukh houmai paap kamaae || |
Cursed is the life of those who forsake and throw away the peace of the Lord's Name, and suffer pain instead by practicing ego and sin. |

ਇਤੁ ਕਮਾਣੈ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੰਮੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
eith kamaanai sadhaa dhukh paavai janmai marai fir aavai jaae || |
By doing so, he suffers in constant pain; he is born and then dies, and comes and goes again and again. |

ਅਗੈ ਨਾਉ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਇਸੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਖਾਤਾ ॥ |
agai naao jaath n jaaeisee manamukh dhukh khaathaa || |
Your name and social status shall not go with you hereafter; the self-willed manmukh is consumed by pain. |

ਤਿਨ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤਲਬ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾ ਓਇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥ |
thin jam kee thalab n hovee naa oue dhukh sehaahi || |
They are not summoned by the Messenger of Death, and they do not suffer in pain. |

ਜਿਉ ਰਾਜੇ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਭਿੜੀਆ ॥ |
jio raajae raaj kamaavadhae dhukh sukh bhirreeaa || |
They ruled like kings, and fought for pleasure and pain. |

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥ |
santh janaa kai sang dhukh mittaaeiaa || |
In the Society of the Saints, I am rid of my pain and suffering. |
 |
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ |
jis simarath sukh hoe sagalae dhookh jaahi ||2|| |
Remembering Him in meditation, happiness comes, and all sorrows and pains simply vanish. ||2|| |

ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਤੇਟਿਆ ॥ |
hoaa saadhhoo sang fir dhookh n thaettiaa || |
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he does not suffer pain again. |

ਵਿਛੋਹੇ ਜੰਬੂਰ ਖਵੇ ਨ ਵੰਞਨਿ ਗਾਖੜੇ ॥ |
vishhohae janboor khavae n vannjan gaakharrae || |
The pincers of separation are so painful to endure. |
 |
ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੜਾ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਵਈ ॥੨॥ |
gur manthrarraa chithaar naanak dhukh n thheevee ||2|| |
Cherish the Words of the Guru's Mantra, O Nanak, and you shall not suffer in pain. ||2|| |

ਨਠੇ ਤਾਪ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਿ ॥ |
nathae thaap dhukh rog poorae gur prathaap || |
My fevers, pains and diseases are gone, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru. |

ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਵਡ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਪੋਹੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇ ॥ |
dhookh dharadh vadd rog n pohae this maae || |
Suffering, pain, terrible disease and Maya do not afflict them. |

ਦੁਖਿ ਲਗੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਣਿਆ ਨਰਕਿ ਘੋਰਿ ਸੁਤੇ ॥ |
dhukh lagai bilalaaniaa narak ghor suthae || |
They cry out in pain, in the darkest of hells. |

ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਕਰਤ ਮਹਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਬੂਡੋ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮਈਹੈ ॥ |
dhukh sukh karath mehaa bhram booddo anik jon bharameehai || |
Enduring pleasure and pain, drowned in the great ocean of doubt, you shall wander in numerous reincarnations. |

ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੧॥ |
sukhadhaathae dhukh bhanjan suaamee jan naanak sadh bal jaaeeai ||2||1|| |
O Giver of peace, Destroyer of pain, Lord and Master - servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||2||1|| |

ਮਹਾ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਦੋਖ ਰੋਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ਹਾਤੇ ॥ |
mehaa kilabikh kott dhokh rogaa prabh dhrisatt thuhaaree haathae || |
The greatest sins, and millions of pains and diseases are destroyed by Your Gracious Glance, O God. |

ਲੋਭ ਸੁਨੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ ਬੇਗਿ ਤਹਾ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ |
firath firath bahuth sram paaeiou santh dhuaarai aaeiou || |
Wandering and roaming all around, I have endured great pain, but now, I have come to the door of the Saint. |

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥ |
rog sog sabh dhookh binaasae outharae sagal kalaesaa ||1|| rehaao || |
and all illness, sorrow and pain shall be dispelled; all suffering shall come to an end. ||1||Pause|| |

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥ |
jan naanak sathigur jo milae maeree jindhurreeeae thin kae sabh dhukh gavaaeiaa raam ||3|| |
O servant Nanak: those who meet the True Guru, O my soul, have all of their pains taken away. ||3|| |

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ |
naanak har jap sukh paaeiaa maeree jindhurreeeae sabh dhookh nivaaranehaaro raam ||1|| |
Nanak has found peace, meditating on the Lord, O my soul; the Lord is the Destroyer of all pain. ||1|| |

ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਧੇਰਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਅਮਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚੋਇਆ ॥ |
mittiaa adhhaeraa dhookh naathaa amio har ras choeiaa || |
Darkness is dispelled, and pains are removed, when the sublime essence of the Lord's Ambrosial Nectar trickles down. |

ਦੂਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ |
dhookh rog n bho biaapai jinhee har har dhhiaaeiaa || |
Pain, disease and fear do not cling to those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. |
