| Meditate on the Lord, O Saints; He is the Dispeller of all sorrow. |

| ਕਾਮਿ ਕਰੋਧਿ ਨਗਰੁ ਬਹੁ ਭਰਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਖੰਡਲ ਖੰਡਾ ਹੇ ॥ |
| kaam karodhh nagar bahu bhariaa mil saadhhoo khanddal khanddaa hae || |
| The body-village is filled to overflowing with anger and sexual desire; these were broken into bits when I met with the Holy Saint. |

| ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਅੰਜੁਲੀ ਪੁਨੁ ਵਡਾ ਹੇ ॥ |
| kar saadhhoo anjulee pun vaddaa hae || |
| Greet the Holy Saint with your palms pressed together; this is an act of great merit. |

| ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥ |
| karo baenanthee sunahu maerae meethaa santh ttehal kee baelaa || |
| Listen, my friends, I beg of you: now is the time to serve the Saints! |

| ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ॥ |
| bhaaee rae santh janaa kee raen || |
| O Siblings of Destiny, become the dust of the feet of the humble Saints. |

| ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਧੇਣੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| In the Society of the Saints, the Guru is found. He is the Treasure of Liberation, the Source of all good fortune. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ |
| sabh sukh har ras bhoganae santh sabhaa mil giaan || |
| All comforts and peace, and the Essence of the Lord, are enjoyed by acquiring spiritual wisdom in the Society of the Saints. |

| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥ |
| har santhahu dhaekhahu nadhar kar nikatt vasai bharapoor || |
| O Saints, see clearly that the Lord is near at hand; He is pervading everywhere. |

| ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| santhaa sangath mil rehai jap raam naam sukh paae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Remain united with the Society of the Saints; chant the Name of the Lord, and find peace. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਦਰਿ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਖੜੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ |
| dhar saevan santh jan kharrae paaein gunee nidhhaan ||1|| |
| Standing at the Lord's Door, the humble Saints serve Him; they find the Treasure of Excellence. ||1|| |

| ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ॥ |
| thhaan suhaavaa pavith hai jithhai santh sabhaa || |
| Embellished and immaculate is that place where the Saints gather together. |

| ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥ |
| saadhhoo kee hohu raenukaa apanaa aap thiaag || |
| Become the dust of the Saints; renounce your selfishness and conceit. |

| ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| mil saadhhoo mukh oojalaa poorab likhiaa paae || |
| Meeting with the Holy Saint, my face is radiant; I have realized my pre-ordained destiny. |

| ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣਾ ਮਲੁ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਕਾਟਿ ॥੧॥ |
| santhasang har simaranaa mal janam janam kee kaatt ||1|| |
| In the Society of the Saints, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, and wash off the filth of countless incarnations. ||1|| |

| ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| santhaa sangath man vasai prabh preetham bakhasindh || |
| In the Society of the Saints, God, the Beloved, the Forgiver, comes to dwell within the mind. |

| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥ |
| santh janahu mil bhaaeeho sachaa naam samaal || |
| Meet with the humble Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, and contemplate the True Name. |

| ਪਉ ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਿਟੈ ਦੂਖੁ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ |
| po santh saranee laag charanee mittai dhookh andhhaar ||2|| |
| Seek the Sanctuary of the Saints, and fall at their feet; your suffering and darkness shall be removed. ||2|| |

| ਤਤ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮੰਧਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ |
| thath samadharasee santhahu koee kott mandhhaahee ||2|| |
| One who sees the essence of reality with impartial vision, O Saints, is very rare-one among millions. ||2|| |

| ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੬॥ |
| santhan kee raen naanak dhaan paaeiaa ||4||26||96|| |
| Nanak has obtained the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||26||96|| |

| ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਮਮਤਾ ॥੩॥ |
| bandhhan mukath santhahu maeree raakhai mamathaa ||3|| |
| He frees us from bondage, O Saints, and saves us from possessiveness. ||3|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਛੂਟਨੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥ |

| O Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, listen: release comes only through the True Name. |

| In the Society of the Saints, He is found, if the Uniter unites us. |

| ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥ |
| santh sabhaa sukh oopajai guramukh naam adhhaar ||4|| |
| In the Society of the Saints, peace wells up; the Gurmukhs take the Support of the Naam. ||4|| |

| ਸੁਰ ਸਿਧ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਖ ਪੀਰ ਸਲਾਰ ॥ |
| sur sidhh gan gandhharab mun jan saekh peer salaar || |
| The angels, Siddhas, worshippers of Shiva, heavenly musicians, silent sages, Saints, priests, preachers, spiritual teachers and commanders |

| ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈਸੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥ |
| sathasangath kaisee jaaneeai || |
| How is the Society of the Saints to be known? |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਨੰਦੀ ॥ |
| har santh janaa mil kaaraj sohiaa var paaeiaa purakh anandhee || |
| Joining with the humble Saints of the Lord, my actions bring prosperity, and I have obtained the Lord of Bliss as my Husband. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਹੰਦੀ ॥ |
| naanak santh santh har eaeko jap har har naam sohandhee || |
| O Nanak, the One Lord is the Saint of Saints. Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the soul-bride is bountiful and beautiful. |

| ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥ |
| man piaariaa jeeo mithraa kar santhaa sang nivaaso || |
| O dear beloved mind, my friend, abide in the Society of the Saints. |

| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥੪॥ |
| naanak sikh dhaee man preetham kar santhaa sang nivaaso ||4|| |
| Nanak gives this advice: O beloved mind, let the Society of the Saints be your dwelling. ||4|| |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਖ ਸੰਤ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੫॥੧॥੨॥ |
| naanak sikh santh samajhaaee har praem bhagath man leenaa ||5||1||2|| |
| Nanak instructs the Saints to teach, that the mind is imbued with loving devotion to the Lord. ||5||1||2|| |

| In the Sanctuary of the Saints, O Nanak, the Support of the breath of life is found. ||1|| |

| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰੀਤਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਮਨਿ ਆਵਏ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| charan kamal sio preeth reeth santhan man aaveae jeeo || |
| To love the Lotus Feet of the Lord-this way of life has come into the minds of His Saints. |

| ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| thaerae bachan anoop apaar santhan aadhhaar baanee beechaareeai jeeo || |
| Your Word is Incomparable and Infinite. I contemplate the Word of Your Bani, the Support of the Saints. |

| ਧੂੜੀ ਮਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਖੇ ਸਾਈ ਥੀਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ |
| dhhoorree majan saadhh khae saaee thheeeae kirapaal || |
| People bathe in the dust of the feet of the Saints, when the Lord becomes merciful. |
|
| ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਕੰਠੇ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| santhan kai parasaadh agaadhh kanthae lag sohiaa jeeo || |
| By the Grace of the Saints, I am held in the loving embrace of the Unfathomable Lord, and I am entranced. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਉ ॥ |
| santh janaa vin bhaaeeaa har kinai n paaeiaa naao || |
| Without the humble Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, no one has obtained the Lord's Name. |

| ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਜੋ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| har thisai dhhiaavahu santh janahu jo leae shhaddaaee ||2|| |
| Meditate on that Lord, O Saints; He shall rescue and save you. ||2|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਇਕ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ |
| har kae santh sunahu jan bhaaee har sathigur kee eik saakhee || |
| O Saints of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny, listen, and hear the Lord's Teachings, through the True Guru. |

| ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੀਐ ॥ |
| santhaa sang nidhhaan anmrith chaakheeai || |
| In the Society of the Saints, you shall taste the treasure of the Ambrosial Nectar. |

| ਕੋਈ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| koee sajan santh milai vaddabhaagee mai har prabh piaaraa dhasai jeeo ||1|| |
| If only I could have the good fortune to meet some friendly Saint; he might show me the Way to my Beloved Lord God. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| har jan santh milahu maerae bhaaee || |
| O servants of the Lord, O Saints, O my Siblings of Destiny, let us join together! |

| ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੈ ਗਲਿ ਮੇਲਾਈਐ ॥ |
| aavahu santh mai gal maelaaeeai || |
| Come, O Saints, and lead me to my Lord's Embrace. |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਚਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| har kae santh milahu man dhaevaa jo gurabaanee mukh choudhaa jeeo ||2|| |
| I dedicate my mind to those Saints of the Lord, who chant the Word of the Guru's Bani with their mouths. ||2|| |
|
| ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| vaddabhaagee har santh milaaeiaa || |
| By great good fortune, the Lord has led me to meet His Saint. |
|
| ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| thrikhaa n outharai saanth n aavai bin dharasan santh piaarae jeeo ||1|| |
| My thirst is not quenched, and I can find no peace, without the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint. ||1|| |

| ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ho gholee jeeo ghol ghumaaee gur dharasan santh piaarae jeeo ||1|| rehaao || |
| I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ |

| By good fortune, I have met the Saint Guru. |

| ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਇ ਰਹਿਆ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਨਭਉ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਿਖਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| thripath aghaae rehiaa hai santhahu gur anabho purakh dhikhaariaa jeeo ||2|| |
| I am satisfied and fulfilled; O Saints, the Guru has shown me the Fearless Lord God. ||2|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa mohi saadhh milaaeiaa || |
| By His Mercy, I have met the Holy Saint. |
