| eihu than vaechee santh pehi piaarae preetham dhaee milaae ||3|| |
| I would sell this body to the Saint, O Beloved, if he would lead me to my Dear Lord. ||3|| |

| ਸਾਧ ਸਭਾ ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| saadhh sabhaa santhaa kee sangath nadhar prabhoo sukh paaeiaa || |
| In the Company of the Holy, and the Saints' Society, by God's Grace, peace is obtained. |

| ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਸੰਗਾ ॥੩॥ |
| mil santh janaa har paaeiaa naanak sathasangaa ||3|| |
| Meeting with the humble Saints, Nanak finds the Lord, in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||3|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਨੋ ਹੋਰੁ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਣੁ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ॥ |
| har santhaa no hor thhaao naahee har maan nimaanae || |
| The Lord's Saints have no other place. The Lord is the honor of the dishonored. |

| ਸੀਤਲ ਆਘਾਣੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਬਸੀਠਾ ॥ |
| seethal aaghaanae anmrith baanae saajan santh baseethaa || |
| I am soothed and satisfied with the Ambrosial Bani of His Word; the friendly Saint is my advocate. |

| ਪਾਹੁਨੜੇ ਪਾਹੁਨੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |

| Guests - my guests are the Beloved Saints, O Lord. |

| ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ |
| santh piaarae kaaraj saarae namasakaar kar lagae saevaa || |
| The Beloved Saints have resolved my affairs; I humbly bowed to them, and committed myself to their service. |

| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| har santhaa har santh sajan maerae meeth sehaaee raam || |
| The Lord's Saints - the Lord's Saints are my friends, my best friends and helpers. |

| ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟੇ ਡੀਠਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥ |
| mil santhasangath aaraadhhiaa har ghatt ghattae ddeethaa raam raajae || |
| Joining the Society of the Saints, I meditate on the Lord in adoration; I behold the Lord King in each and every heart. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੋ ਸੰਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਨੋ ਜਪਿ ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਦੁਖ ਡਾਰਾ ॥ |
| prabh purakh jagajeevano santh ras peevano jap bharam moh dhukh ddaaraa || |
| The Primal Lord God is the Life of the Universe; His Saints drink in the Lord's sublime essence. Meditating on Him, doubts, attachments and pains are shaken off. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਜਬ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak bhaettae saadhh jab har paaeiaa man maahi ||1|| |
| O Nanak, when I met the Holy Saint, I found the Lord within my mind. ||1|| |

| ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਤਿ ॥੩॥ |
| pathith paavan bhagath vashhal naanak mileeai sang saath ||3|| |
| He is the Purifier of sinners, the Lover of His Saints; O Nanak, He is met in the Society of the Saints. ||3|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਾਏ ਸੀਸੁ ਸਾਧਹ ਧਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥ |
| eihu dhaan maan naanak paaeae sees saadhheh dhhar charanee ||4||2||5|| |
| May Nanak receive this gift and honor, of placing his head on the feet of the Holy Saints. ||4||2||5|| |

| ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਉਧਰਨ ਸੰਤਸੰਗ ਬਿਧੇ ॥ |
| aadh anth baeanth khojehi sunee oudhharan santhasang bidhhae || |
| In the beginning and in the end, countless are those who seek the Lord. I have heard that the Society of the Saints is the way to salvation. |

| ਜਹ ਜਹ ਸੰਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jeh jeh santh araadhhehi theh theh pragattaaeiaa || |
| Wherever the Saints worship the Lord in adoration, there He is revealed. |
|
| ਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਵਏ ॥ |
| thhir santhan sohaag marai n jaaveae || |
| The Husband Lord of the Saints is eternal; He does not die or go away. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਵਏ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak vakhaanai gur bachan jaanai thhir santhan sohaag marai n jaaveae ||1|| |
| Nanak speaks what the Guru's Teachings have led him to know. The Husband Lord of the Saints is eternal; He does not die or go away. ||1|| |

| ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥ |

| Come, O my companions, let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Saints. |

| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥੩॥ |
| naanak vakhaanai gur bachan jaanai aao sakhee santh paas saevaa laageeai ||3|| |
| Nanak chants what he knows through the Guru's Teachings; come, O my companions, let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Saints. ||3|| |

| ਮਿਲਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥ |
| milo santhan kai sang mohi oudhhaar laehu || |
| Let me join the Society of the Saints - save me, Lord! |

| ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਸੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਸੰਤ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ ॥ |
| gehi kanth laaeiaa gur milaaeiaa jas bimal santh vakhaaniaa || |
| The Guru has led me to embrace Him; the Saints chant His Pure Praises. |
|
| ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਭਏ ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਧ ਅੰਚਲ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥ |
| agan saagar bheae seethal saadhh anchal gehi rehae || |
| The ocean of fire becomes cool, when one grasps the hem of the robe of the Holy Saint. |
|
| ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਬੋਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਜੈ ਜਏ ॥ |
| govindh gupaal dhaeiaal sanmrithh bol saadhhoo har jai jeae || |
| The Lord of the Universe, the Sustainer of the World, the merciful all-powerful Lord - the Holy Saints proclaim the victory of the Lord. |
|
| ਜਾਗਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ |
| jaagehi santh janaa maerae raam piaarae || |
| The Saints remain wakeful; they are the Beloveds of my Lord. |

| ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| binavanth naanak sadhaa jaagehi har dhaas santh piaarae ||1|| |
| Prays Nanak, the Saints, the beloved servants of the Lord, remain ever wakeful. ||1|| |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੧॥ |
| naanak narak n jaahi kabehoon har santh har kee saranee ||4||2||11|| |
| O Nanak, they never have to go to hell; the Lord's Saints are under the Lord's Protection. ||4||2||11|| |

| ਦਾਨੁ ਮਹਿੰਡਾ ਤਲੀ ਖਾਕੁ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ |
| dhaan mehinddaa thalee khaak jae milai th masathak laaeeai || |
| The gift I seek is the dust of the feet of the Saints; if I were to obtain it, I would apply it to my forehead. |
|
| ਜੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| jae hovai poorab likhiaa thaa dhhoorr thinhaa dhee paaeeai || |
| If it is so pre-ordained, then one obtains the dust of the feet of the Saints. |
|
| ਓਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਕੇ ਠਗ ॥੧॥ |
| oue har kae santh n aakheeahi baanaaras kae thag ||1|| |
| They are not called Saints of the Lord - they are thugs of Benares. ||1|| |
|
| ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਾਵਹਿ ॥ |
| aisae santh n mo ko bhaavehi || |
| Such 'saints' are not pleasing to me; |
|
| ਓਇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਪਰਸ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ॥ |
| oue paapee sadhaa firehi aparaadhhee mukhahu aparas kehaavehi || |
| Those sinners continually wander in evil deeds, while they call themselves touch-nothing saints. |
|
| ਹਮਰੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਬਡੋ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥ |
| hamaro bharathaa baddo bibaekee aapae santh kehaavai || |
| My Husband is the Great One of discriminating wisdom; He alone is called a Saint. |

| ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਰਨਿ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੪॥੪॥ |
| kahu kabeer santhan kee bairan theen lok kee piaaree ||4||4|| |
| Says Kabeer, she is the darling of the three worlds, but the enemy of the Saints. ||4||4|| |

| ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਕੀਟੀ ਪਰਬਤੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ |
| kehath kabeer sunahu rae santhahu keettee parabath khaaeiaa || |
| Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - the ant has eaten the mountain. |

| ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥ |
| kehath kabeer sunahu rae santhahu bhai saagar kai thaaee || |
| Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints, about the terrifying world-ocean. |

| ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਅਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਕਛੂਐ ਲੈ ਨ ਗਇਓ ॥ |
| kehath kabeer sunahu rae santhahu an dhhan kashhooai lai n gaeiou || |
| Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - he shall not take any other wealth with him. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਸਦਾਵੈ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| har jan ootham bhagath sadhaavai aagiaa man sukh paaee || |
| The Lord's humble servant is called the most exalted Saint; he obeys the Command of the Lord's Order, and obtains peace. |
|
| ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਝੂਠੀ ॥ |
| kehai kabeer sunahu rae santhahu maeree maeree jhoothee || |
| Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - it is false to call out, ""Mine, mine."" |
|
| ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਧੁੰਧਰਾਵਾ ॥ |
| einh munddeean maeraa ghar dhhundhharaavaa || |
| These shaven-headed saints have ruined my house. |
|
| ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੩॥ |
| einh munddeean maeree jaath gavaaee ||2||3||33|| |
| these shaven-headed saints have done away with my low social status. ||2||3||33|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਹਾੜੰਬੈ ਤ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੈਨ ਤਰਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| har kaa santh marai haarranbai th sagalee sain tharaaee ||3|| |
| And even if the Lord's Saint dies in the cursed land of Haramba, still, he saves all his family. ||3|| |

| ਸੰਤਹ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟੁਲਾ ॥੨॥੫॥ |
| santheh kai parasaadh naamaa har bhaettulaa ||2||5|| |
| By the Grace of the Saint, Naam Dayv has met the Lord. ||2||5|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਤੁਝੀ ਤਨੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥ |

| Your Saints are Your body, and their company is Your breath of life. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਸੰਤ ਦੇਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ |
| sathigur giaan jaanai santh dhaevaa dhaev ||1|| |
| By the True Guru-given spiritual wisdom, I know the Saints as the gods of gods. ||1|| |

| The Character of the Saints, the lifestyle of the Saints, and the service of the servant of the Saints. ||2|| |

| there is no difference between the Saints and the Infinite Lord. ||4||2|| |

| ਮਾਧਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥ |

| O Lord, I seek the Sanctuary of the company of Your Saints; |

| ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਧੁਪ ਮਖੀਰਾ ॥੨॥ |
| sathasangath mil reheeai maadhho jaisae madhhup makheeraa ||2|| |
| O Lord, I seek to live in the Company of the Saints, like the bee with its honey. ||2|| |
